Winter island was a peculiar but enjoyable waterfront park to explore for both its history and geography. Lots of fun to walk the rocky water’s edge and bleak beaches.

This campground was so beautiful! The weather was very unpredictable and I think it rained most of the time. The beach was magnificent. The only bad things I should say are.... Please Plant more grass around the campground...too much tar/cement where I was. There is too much seaweed. It became all up on the beach. Maybe make that a cleaner area.Thank you and thank you for being there. We will be back!!!

Enjoyed camping here during the fall! I found it perfect to stay outside of the Halloween buzz while also being able to tip-toe in and out of the festivities. Id recommend paying for parking here and then biking (on the bike path/bike lanes) into town!

Cost $10 to get in to swim and explore Ft. Pickering. It was a lot of fun climbing the rocks and investigating the area and sea creatures. There is a lifeguard on duty in one swimming area along with a bathhouse and rinse station. Theres a place to dock and camping sites in the area as well. Swimming can be done in other numerous areas without a lifeguard.

The beaches here at Winter Island Park take their cold waters right from the Atlantic. Its cold but clean. Limited sandy area and otherwise rather rocky, so get yourself those swimming slipons for your feet to avoid falling. Its quite nice even for enjoying a peaceful sit by the shoreline on benches provided, your own foldup chair, or on the large jetty rocks, watching the tide ebb and flow. Being a city of Salem park, theres an entrance fee. The park has camping for trailers, tents, and RVs. For that, go to Reserve America. They impliment Covid19 regs for the good of one and all.

Beautiful location to go for a relaxing time. There is an open area to walk around. It is right by the water and have beautiful views all around. There is plenty of parking and people can sit in their car and enjoy the view. There also is a lighthouse. In the summers, camping is allowed here. Beautiful area for a picnic, camping, hike, bike ride and a leisure walk.

Great place to take a tour of Atlantic if you own boat/yatch. There are quiet a number of boats that are already parked. There is a small and beautiful beach. It has camp ground right next to the beach and there were many people camping. The water is blue, beach is clean and tidy. Parking, showers and toilets are plenty.

Lovely campground right on the harbor. Parking lot sites, field sites with water electric. Also has tent sites. Lots of critters, skunks, bunnies fox and woodchuck all hanging around. Public wifi available but that was limited. Lots of TV channels with the antenna. Cell service at most we had 2 bats with Verizon. Would have been 5 stars except for the dump station not being on site and wifi

Enjoyed the tide pools with crabs, snails, clams. Even though the water was cold we even waded in the water. It was beautiful and stunning! I wanted to see a lighthouse and my husband found this one, so very glad he did, we have an amazing memory from there!

This has been an awesome experience. If you love history and the ocean this is your spot. Don’t expect a traditional camping experience with lots of privacy but do expect a once in a lifetime experience. We are so happy we did this trip. We had site 13 at ocean front and it’s been an an amazing 5 days. So close to everything. The ferry to Boston was worth every penny and so close. Enjoy!

Lovely view, quiet, nice little beach. The spots close to the water are in a parking lot. Water and electric only, WiFi is good. They also have a nice Green space for camping too and the gate locks at night. There is very old public bathrooms, nothing fancy, no hooks to hang a towel or bathroom bag. Chilly as you get into the fall. A tour bus drives thru here often with tourists, and the park is busy with locals. At night it is dark. Very little lighting in the parking area.

But its still a flash from the past.. There is a little trail you can walk arnd the whole property.. Ocean views all the way around... There is also camping access... And a boat dock.. Also there is an old Bunker..forgive me for not remembering what it was used for.. There is also a beach area tht has exquisite ocean views with a Lighthouse.. I would recommend this place as a very peaceful place.. To relax.. Breathe in the Salty air.. Awesome to bring your dog for a little adventure! If your visiting Salem.. This is a must see place! Enjoy! Thank me later..

Camping in RV here. No sewer hook-ups, water and electric. Has a beach area and picnic tables. Has one building with bathroom and shower. Two stalls for showers and toliets in women side for the whole park. Had a party on the pavilion today and we had a line for the bathroom 5 deep when I was there. Park should have separate bathroom facilities for campers. Was here on the weekend and had to wait till after 11 pm to take shower.

We had a great stay at Winter Island. Although it’s not a traditional style campground; more of a parking lot for RV’s with strategically placed tent sites in amongst the trees/shrubs.The only down side was that they charged us a $20 refundable deposit for a pass key to open the gate after 10pm. That wouldn’t have been a problem had the gate actually been closed between 10pm-8am. Unfortunately, the gate was never closed the 3 nights we were there, and cars entering and leaving between 11:30pm and 3:30 am. We found this a bit unnerving and disruptive to our sleep and sense of security.
