Really nice park. My dog Remy had a great time running and playing with the other dogs.
We take our two small dogs here at least three times a week (when they arent out hiking with us) and the people and other dogs are so courteous and our sweet girls love coming here.
Place is perfect for pups. I worried a little about the water because as soon as I walked I was told it was not good for the pups BUT another fresh water alternative was right there. Id only suggest flipping over the bucket and not let it fill. People were friendly, everyone was great for team work to provide fun protective place for our furbabies to play safely. My fist visit and I was from out of state. Florida all the way to VA to play at the puppy park its a great park and I recommend it for socializing and fun for pups.
There was plenty of space for my dog to run around in
Great place to take your furbabies
Great place to take your dog completely fenced in has several water bowls and bags in case of accidental messages also two sides one for smaller dogs and one for larger. Also a good place if you just want to sit down but your dog loose and read a book
Generally clean facility. Nice people go there. Seperate big dog and little dog areas. Toys and water are provided. My moms dog always looks forward to going there.
BEST DOG PARK IN THE VALLEY.Give your dog a chance to be greeted while safely in the corral. When everyone has had a snif (all the dogs, I mean) open the second gate.Plenty of fresh water, room to run, and they add mulch often to absorb the mud.Friendly folks go there..lots of rescue dogs.We met a sweet greyhound today from WVa.If youd rather not chat, there are benches to relax on while your dog plays with new friends.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! this local favorite.
Not only is this the best dog park in Roanoke for dogs, its the best for dog owners. Everytime we visit, were impressed & encouraged by the diversity in age, race, color, class & creed, etc of all the people we see. Unlike other dog parks, there is no silent, cliquey status quo. Everyone (and dog) is warmly welcomed. Both big and all dog sections are substantially spacious and well-maintained, with benches about 2-4 benches in each, but some people bring their own chairs. Its really easy to find yourself there 2hrs with the time flying by from great conversations with new folk or ongoing moments of dog play. You can view a live feed of the park from the city of Salem website, which is nice for when my husband brings our pup while Im stuck at work. We now go 2-3 times a week, and will likely pick up throughout the Fall with the lovely weather. Love this place!
My dog enjoys it when its not too crowded. Theres a shady place to congregate, and a couple of benches. Its well mulched, but the black mulch makes for black paws. Its a great park when everyone follows the rules!
Nice park. I think they could benefit from having an attendant on duty.
This park is okay, but it would be nicer it was just all grass. My dog gets to eat the wood chips and it all turns to mud around the water buckets. This park could you an update for sure.
Great place with the mulch being down and plenty of room
Nice group of regulars and lots of space for the dogs to roam. Can get really muddy so expect that.
This park is very beautiful and I have clean and places to walk your animal
Nice dog park! Nice people, nice dogs, everyone had a good time.
Nice dog park. Well maintained and two big spaces for dogs - one for big/normal size dogs, another for small/xsmall dogs. They even have trash bags for your dog in case they eliminate in the fenced in area and water.
Great dog park. everyone is always so friendly.
Great dog park thats off the beaten path. I visit each time Im in town to give my dog a much needed break from the hotel. Like any social setting, most people I meet there are friendly, a few not so much.
I love taking my dogs here, even though we already have a fenced in back yard and they get plenty of yard time. Most all other dog owners are quite friendly and very understanding when my husband and I bring our medium-sized dog to the small dog area (our sweet 2 year old dachsador) since the much bigger dogs tend to frighten her. Only have had a few exceptions of side eye from others for her being on that side of the fence, but she only plays with her small brother and sister at home, so she plays so well with the smaller dogs.Love the hours that the park is open, as well as the live stream camera so we can decide ahead of time if it seems a bit to crowded to keep up with our herd!
User friendly, clean and well kept. Small and large dogs can be separated. Water and doggie bags available. Love it.
Very clean. Nice to meet nice people enjoying their pets
The people that bring their dogs here are lazy. I have never seen so much poop just lying around. I sat and watched at least five different people let their dog poo and not bother to clean it up. If you don’t watch your step you’re likely to step in a pile. Not only that but this dog park has parasitic worms. I saw a pile of poo when I walked by and there were white rice looking things moving in it. After that I left immediately. I have chatted with others who said their dog has gotten worms from this park. I will never again bring my lab here. This park is disgusting and needs to be treated for the worms and whatever other nasty things going on there. My dog is vaccinated and I’m still concerned for his well being after what I saw at this park. Very disappointed and praying my dog does not catch something.
Nice. Its well-maintained and spacious. All sizes of dogs are welcomed here.
This dog park is large and up until December was a favorite of ours. Our beagle was attacked, unprevoked while at this park. We were trying to leave with our dog when the other dog went straight for our dogs belly. Our dog was bitten deeply and scratched all up and down his belly. The attacking dogs owner did little to control her dog. So please be careful!!! Most of the people and dogs here are amazing. However, it only takes one to cause your pup harm.
Good place for dogs to run around and exercise play, most dogs are well behaved and a few are naughty.
Needs new mulch and people are not cleaning up after there
Great facility for dogs. Lots of room for fun and play
Most of all dogs and people here are nice. Every now and then you will get a mean dog. However their is one dog that comes slot most dogs and people stay away from it. She can turn on a dime
Its a good park, you just can have a bad experience if you get the wrong people there with you. The park isnt the problem its the people.
Great place for the doggies to hang out. Would like to see more grass but that doesnt stop us from going and having a good time.
This is my first bad review. I took my dog to this dog park before and there was little things and obstacle courses for them to walk on and stuff but now its just completely empty. Wish it was the way it was before, a lot more people would bring their dogs. Kinda dissapointed.
Great size dog park. Sections for small and large dogs. Water stations, benches and multiple entrances.Great area to let dog sniff or run.
This is the best dog park around. Always people and dogs there... fairly clean (come on folks, pick up after your dogs!!) And nicely constructed. There are two sections separating larger and small dogs. Double grates to get in. Water and bags. Donate to the Rotary Club in a donation box bear the main entrance if you go. We havent run across this but weve been told this park doesnt allow dog toys and balls. There are almost always balls there, but weve heard that folks get yelled at for playing ball there. Evidently some gals have called the police on some folks although I dont think thats happened recently. I suspect some folks brought their dogs and those dogs were ball aggressive and they caused a problem in the past. We go nearly every week and have not seen that but something in the past got a burr under someones skin. So just be aware and go easy.
Lots of room for your dog to run and play..plenty of water stations, a gate within a gate so your dog cant get away from you, sanitary stations with bags in case your dog goes potty, covered area for you to sit, shade trees, on a quiet street, and an exchange library for those of us who read and like to exchange books...also part of the play area is grass and part is mulch..I personally like that..great place!
This is a pretty nice dog park but it does not offer a lot of shade for dog owners. I alotlso wish they had a little more stuff for the pups to play with/on.
Terrific meetup and clean. Well maintained.
Too many aggressive dogs
Nice park with high fences
Very clean, well kept, lots of room, one section for small dogs and one for large dogs, excellent place to let the dogs go and have fun.
A nice place for a dog to unwind and run
Nice plenty of parking.
Smallish, but well maintained. Ample parking.
Fenced in. Separate small dog area. Plenty of parking. Moderate sized play area.
Large fenced area for dogs to run free. Separate areas for large and small dogs. Plenty of parking. Owners knew dogs by their names.
Nice size. They could improve by making sure the doggy bag dispensers are always full.
Nice facility ! Lots of room for the dogs to run around and plenty of water available!
It is unfortunate that people can not abide by simple basic rules. Allowing a large dog in the small dog area and refusing to move to the large dog park made my visit unpleasant at best. I dont advise someone with a small dig to visit.
Nice sized park. Separate areas for large and small animals. The large dog area is mulched, helps keep the dog clean.
Need more space & a working dog water fountain
Good open space, with plenty of faucets for dog water. It also has alot of disposable waste bags and nice toys in the pin for the dogs to play with.
Great park for our furry pals. Just wish they did a better upkeep job.
This is the best dog park we are coming every Saturday. It’s great for exercise and the dogs are tired after it.
The park its self is wonderful.
Clean, well maintained
Friendly people and dogs.
Seems like they have it well kept. There were lots of dogs for him to play with when we went.
Nice facility, good sized with access from a couple sides. Lots of mulch. Traveler friendly!
Great park with friendly people
Loved it, amazing, awesome best dog park ever
Overall wonderful dog park. Gets very muddy in the rain, but is perfect when its dry outside.
Well taken care of area. Plenty of water spots and bags. Great people that come and bring their dogs.
Decent place. Lots of dogs for our beagle to play with.
I love this place for my dog and just seeing the other kind dogs
Mulched so its not muddy and lots of space
Actually went to pound. I adopted the most silky satin black itty bitty girl cat. She is Luna. Shes a purr box. Big grey brother Blue is jealous but they are getting along. Adopt. Luna came to cage door stuck her little hand out with the most cutest meow. Adopt SalemVA Animal Shelter.
Other than a few dogs/owners- this place is quite pleasant most of the time.
Great place to take the dogs especially if they need some social time
The best dog park near Roanoke in my opinion. The people are friendly and I have yet to encounter an aggressive dog.
Best place to take your furry friends
Great place for dogs to play
Large fenced in play area for the pups
Good place to take your dog clean
Great place maybe best in valley
Great
Good. Although people bring pets who are aggressive and I usually have to tell them to leave when a dog is getting overly aggressive.
Dog park plenty of dog piles.
Friendly people, great dogs, nice area
Great place to get help for animals
Beautiful park
Great
Loved it
Meh
Wood chips were a little harsh on my dogs paws but she had a great time anyway!
