Beautiful park all year long. Always much colder here in the winter due to the ocean breeze. Great place to bring dogs and kids. Plenty of benches and picnic tables!

Beautiful park for a quick walk. Lots of benches and tables; perfect for a picnic overlooking the water. The many trees provided plenty of shade. Nice place for hanging out during COVID.

Its quiet and peaceful there. Ball park, swing sets. Ocean view. The Swimming pool is closed til I guess July 2021. Its hit or miss with Pioneer Village.

Great multi-purpose park. Watch a ball game, hit thr beach, visit the play area, experience the concrete slide of courage (bring cardboard boxes) and in 2021 10 million dollars in upgrades and improvements especially to the pool & surrounding area.

The park is wonderfully quiet in the mornings. Perfect for exercising, dogwalking or launching a paddle board or kayak. They did a great job renovating the sea wall and hopefully they will also renovate the pool!

Shaded park by the ocean... very calm, peaceful, many activities available to you such as picnicking, swimming, kayaking, etc. Definitely a place to spend a few hours or the day.

Great place to relax and take some pictures. Come at low tide to walk on the beach see the tide pools the rocks create.

Love this, great place to run around in. Its about a .4mile loop around the park if your running. Fantastic ocean breeze with a lot of shade for those hot summer days. Theres a few trees that are perfect for hammocks around the park

A lovely spot, very serene. The park currently undergoing renovations and the baseball field is complete but other things will take some time. A very low key place to chill.

A great big park right on the water. Excellent nooks for kids to explore and a full play area as well. A few places to also crawl boulders into the sea area. Worth a visit!

Nice place quiet

Great spot for just about anything and anyone. Gorgeous location with a couple of small beaches, grassy fields, walkways, a playground and picnic tables. There is also a public pool open for the summer.

A special live rendering of Hawthornes The Scarlet Letter, was beautifully and professionally done for am audience of about 25 people who braved the cold and followed the plot through the woods at Pioneer Village.

Great for warmer weather picnics, walking through the woods or on the beach. Lots of work being done too, so will look really nice when everything is finished

I love it here. Weve been coming for years. 5 minutes from our house! One thing though- The new boat ramp is dangerously steep.

One of my very fave places in Salem,with Pioneer Village,the playground,ballpark,beach,trails...and a pool even...10 stars!

I bring my hammock here often, great park, great ocean views, beach access, lots of picnic tables.

Forest River park is amazing

Excellent spot to spend the day with family, recently renovated, very relaxing green area, great spot to kayak, and bike around.

Must see if you like the movie Hocus Pocus this is where the house is located.

Love this park. Right by the ocean, plenty of beautiful trees, paved walk way, and a swing set and jungle gym for the kids.

Better then it used to be with the recent renovations.

Please go and visit pioneer village, and bring some cardboard to slide on the concrete slide! Its the most beautiful park in Salem, its too bad that its so far away from downtown, it doesnt get the recognition it deserves.

This is a great park with excellent attractions. Want to go to the beach and park all in one? That is what Forest River has to offer. Awesome playground for kids as well. Soon will have to have a permit or pay for parking so walk down if you can! Also a good place to park during snow emergency, although it can get kind of muddy.

This is a nice park located on the south side of Salem on the water. Theres a picnic area the Pioneer Village is nearby. The most notable thing about this park is that it has the famous concrete slide, one of those things that older locals talk about with lots of nostalgia but just seems very dangerous.

This park is amazing to take your animals or just to have a picnic and watch your kids at the playground its an awesome Park not that big but its surrounded by breathtaking views and beautiful sunsets. And full of large tall trees.

Pools closed for the summer. Bathrooms are straight out of a prison. Kids playground is decent but the only thing.

The place is beautiful, parks for the children, there is a lot to do but the beach is nasty. I mean I couldnt even walk on it with may feet getting muddy.

This is a nice, scenic little park right on the water not far from downtown Salem. A wide, paved loop runs through the whole park. There are several small beach areas, a playground for kids, and a large swimming pool open to Salem residents. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. There is plenty of space to jog, picnic, or simply take in the beautiful view!

Beautiful park on the ocean good for dogs walking and kids. It has rolling lightly wooded hills, its maybe 3-5 acres, and in the back theres a pool thats open to the public in the summer.

I love this little park. Its usually pretty busy, and you have to be careful where you step as there are some not so responsible dog owners. However, the playground areas are spread out, theres a cardboard slide, a small beach, a salt water swimming pool, a small diamond, and plenty of benches and picnic tables. Great for informal gatherings with ocean front views.

Great park area, good to walk around. Salem does a great job of keeping it clean, of course there will be some trash as people are not always as tidy as we would like, but over all amazing. My kids all love it, the playground is big and has an excellent jungle gym. The YMCA pool is really just impressive in its size, its also salt water, so its not as harsh as chlorine.Looking forward to many great family cookouts here.

From out of town but my family lives in Salem, we loved this park but just yesterday I was stopped at the entrance and told its a residents only park and even residents have to buy a $100. Pass to visit this park now.Such a shame. They only want the elite enjoying The outdoors. They sent me to another little park next to some factories and the train station. Not many trees. They made this park for the common folk. Ive never seen anything so despicable.

Wonderful playground and good loop for walking / running. I wouldnt swim in the ocean here, as there is an outflow pipe located on the beach.
