The Little Theatre is a place for people who truly love films that make you think, inspire you, challenge your worldviews, and move you to tears. Its a place for people who want to watch movies theyre not likely to get anywhere else while also getting the opportunity for a post-film discussion, live music, great food, the best popcorn in town, local art, and people who take their movie-watching seriously. Ive never had a problem with people being on their mobile phones during a film and the atmosphere, thanks to staff and other guests, is always so inviting. I love this place and if you havent been before, when it reopens, you MUST visit.

Loved it. It was my very first time going to the Little Theatre and we went and saw the French film called Climax. It was amazing! Good atmosphere. Very affordable. Lots of non-mainstream titles to watch/discover. Also in a decent neighborhood.

Good movies but lousy service. Employees dont seem to know the first thing about customer service and the GM Derek is an arrogant and unfriendly guy who also knows nothing about customer service. Youre better off at the Dryden or the Cinema Theater. Or streaming at home. Or reading a book.

Unlike any other theater in Rochester, The Little Theatre is any independent cinema lovers go-to in the area. They offer delicious, gourmet foods and drink in the Little Cafe, as well as beer and often times live music. The theatres themselves are smaller and offer a more intimate film-going experience for the viewers. Every showing is unique, and worth the discounted ticket price.

My favorite theater in Rochester! Always a fun experience and the prices of tickets and movie snacks are reasonable. I havent come early enough to try it yet, but there is also a cafe with hot food selections and more. Look out for their special viewings and unique event experiences!

Went to this venue as a part of the Rochester Fringe Fest. Arriving, the entrance was somewhat difficult to find. The street-facing building is closed for renovations, and you actually enter around back. Aside from that though, it was a nice place. The theatres are well maintained, and it has an adjoining Cafe which sometimes has its own performances. Overall a good trip.

Great old fashion theatre, in the middle of the city. Multiple smaller theatres that show new realeases at a fraction of the cost of the larger franchises. Movies on Mondays are $5, they have food and drinks available and there was also live music while we were there. The popcorn is awesome and all the snacks are also inexpensive! Theres lots of free parking around the location, especially after 6. Give this local business a try, they are making improvements to this historic Gem and doing a great job at it!

What an amazing, fun and full service theater experience that was! Sound was great, screen just right. Clean theater and bathrooms. I did not check out the cafe side but I enjoyed the family time. Everything was priced unbelievably low compared to most theaters right down to candy, popcorn and drink. Service was crazy friendly. Yay. Way to keep it alive, Little Theater!

The thing I love most about this theater is the sense of history and community. Every time I go, I not only get to enjoy a movie, but I get to feel a part of something. The prices are good, the staff seem to enjoy being there. It feels like such a treat to go, especially when the majority of the movies I see are at huge chains like AMC and Regal that ate nice, but dont give you that same sense of belonging as The Little does.

The Little Theater shows independent and foreign films on 5 screens. They are also host for many artistic events and film festivals. Dont expect to get gummy bears for your snack: in addition to great popcorn they have baked goods like the famed Nanaimo bar. They also have a cafe which often has live music. The down side: seats are not comfortable, and parking can be an issue.

While comfort is still an issue, one can not argue with the movies offered at The Little Theatre. Rochester residents would miss out on some spectacular films if not for The Little. Wonderful theater to hold an event, go for a coffee, or see a film. There is accessible parking in the lot and an accessible entrance. There is a steep ramp to go down into the theaters, so if you use a manual wheelchair be aware. Its not impossible to push up, but its not the easiest. The Little is renovating and actively working to be more accessible. If you dont want to see a film, the coffee shop is nice place to meet up with friends.

A very nice and well maintained set of movie theaters showing the latest indie and documentary films. They also often show older movies as part of there rewind series.
