Wonderful trail. Dog friendly and close to home. Havent been there in quite some time. I had forgotten about the 2-3 hills the trail has. They arent too bad. But theyll definitely get that heart pumping!

Great park. Nice trails. My daughter loved the playground and my dog really enjoyed the dog park. I would definitely recommend.

Great place for dogs to play! Got there early . Little before 8am was the perfect time to get acclimated to the yard before the other dogs came. Our puppys first time and he had a blast!

Great place for a quick trail run. Just watch out for all the families walking on the trails. Usually just need to pay attention so you dont run into anyone. Quick and easy parking access.

Love this park. So many hidden trails and great lake. Great nature in the middle of civilization. Fields and playgrounds look nice too!

We love Rockwood Park! The trails are wonderful and my almost 2-year old has a blast exploring every time we go for a walk.

All in all its a nice place. Clean. They have water supply for animals and poop bags. Restrooms. A tennis court and play area. The only downside for me was the area for the big dogs was locked for no apparent reason.

Rockwood is a great Park & bears a testimony as to how well our counties and metro areas take care of their parks! it is a great park with tall trees and paved pathways that are great for kids or folks who have issues getting around not to mention the other amenities for sports and even archery ranges! The dog park is great and a little nature center is a sweet spot to check out a little science with the kids.

Visited the Nature Center Trails this past Sunday. There are both paved trails and natural trails for walking or hiking. We took the Orange Trail which is about a 1-mile loop. Some of the trail markings were hard to find, but the park isnt that big. Theres no chance of you getting hopelessly lost! Parking lot at the Nature Center was full. We had to wait for a space to free up.

Very nice outdoor Lighted courts for Pickleball as well as tennis and basketball. Great facility for any sport and if you venture to the very back there are some beautiful walking trails through a very natural wooded environment

This is a great place for walking in the woods. Everything you would expect in the woods is here: trees, bushes, squirrels, songbirds. There is sometimes a deer or owl or snake. The shady wooded area has two loop trails, one paved, and one more natural. Each is a little over a mile long, and they intersect, and there are maps posted so you dont get lost. Along the pond, you will often see waterbirds and turtles. People tend to be friendly. Wave and say hi.

One of the best places to go to walk and clear your head. Beautiful!

Nice playground!! Dog run an plenty of trails. If you play pokeman go you will love this place. Painted RVA rocks are also here!

This is a decent sized park. Baseball, basketball and soccer fields. There is a playground area, a gazebo, and also a nice dog run. This park offers walking trails around the perimeter of the parking lot and also paved and unpaved trails through the woods.

Its a decent enough park. It has all the things you would expect in a park. The only downside is that it always seems to be packed with people.

Huge place, lots of trails, basketball, playgrounds, baseball diamonds. Lots of people there usually but it is a public park after all. Lots of cool amenities, multiple athletic fields.

I grew up playing softball at Rockwood, so I will always love this park! That being said, in the 10 to 15 years I was unable to visit Rockwood, a lot has changed inside the park and I love it! The playground is beautiful and great quality, the dog park, the garden, etc are all wonderful additions!! We will continue to go there and walk the trails and play sports etc.

Didnt explore alot of the park due to not having enough time but im satisfied with time I spent there.Nice size dog park but I wish both yards were open to use at the same time and had more shade available for humans. Also, I think its awesome that they have a small dog yard for owners of smaller dogs that may be nervous about letting their dogs loose with bigger dogs.

Its probably a shame that we have to travel from Colonial Heights to get to play at a venue such as this, but so it goes. Great venue for pickleball, tennis and many other sports and outings!

This place is very peaceful and is great for family and friends activities. I enjoy the diversity there.

I love it... Its a family oriented park and I felt safe as I was taking my daily walk.

Quiet trails, not to much traffic so you can enjoy nature, stroller is no problem. Kids love the play area with jungle gym. Can catch kids baseball and softball games during season ! Birthday party are great hear which also can go with a great place to cook out;

My sons love the park area altogether. No loud music no fighting out there at all one of the best parks in Virginia period.

This was my first visit to Rockwood Park. It was a bit crowded with all the baseball games but we parked by the nature center and walked the white trail. It was a short and quiet walk through the woods.

Nice, clean, and quiet. The pond was higher then I am used to seeing it and the Creek was flooding. Despite that the trails were all passable.

The Rough House dog park is one of the best in Richmond!

Other than difficulty finding a parking spot, we had a great time with a three year old in tow. The bee event was fun and the crafts interesting. Honey tasting was lovely and the nature center was informative.

Beautiful and serene. Unexpected as well. A little diamond in the rough. Also, if you like trees, there are a lot of them that collectively are known as woods. If it was just a small amount it might be a grove. If it was sort of hidden and primeval it would be a fen but this isnt. Please dont pick things, or eat the trees. And clean up after your dogs. No, there are no Ents...at least none I know of.

Needs another playground. The current one gets crowded

There was a dude with a space jam jersey on and a beret. I believe he had a small easel. Definitely had a decent portable speaker. The drip was on.

I enjoy coming here year around with the family. Between the trails, paved and unpaved surfaces and playground it keeps the kids busy! There are basketball courts which keep the older teens occupied and on the tennis courts you will find a variety of ages. Baseball fields and archery ranges. Its great to see people outside and active.

Beautiful park to take pets and children. The trails are nice, there are paved and unpaved trails through the park. No bathrooms on the trail, but there are easy to find bathrooms at the front of the park. I havent checked out the nature center, so not sure how nice that is. There is a nice fenced area for dogs to play, but our two do not know how to act with other dogs. So we dont visit that area often.

Good park for young children. Older kids can play basketball, baseball, tennis, run/walk nature trail. They have a nature center with some small reptiles and mammals. Dog friendly play area.

Very disappointed with the amount of trash all over picnic and bathroom areas. Lots of families grouped around the playground areas during this pandemic. Suspicious vehicles driving around with loud rap music. Did not feel safe at all.

Rockwood is a park with a little something for everyone. Playground for the little ones, dog park/play pens for the fur family, softball/baseball/cricket fields & basketball courts, tennis & pickleball courts, archery range & lastly, my favorite, the beautiful paved & unpaved trails. Trails are well maintained with shelters which can be rented/reserved for a variety of needs. Trail does have scenic views of Gregory’s pond, which is private without fishing privileges, but does provide lovely views.

Good paths for a hike. Because of COVID I cant opine on rest

Love love love this park! My kids never get tired of this park because there is so many different area to play and explore. It’s a great park for any age group. They have awesome hiking trails. My kids also like to stand outside the dog park n watch them play.

At the Nature Center.I do Archery with other disable Veterans and other disable people.The staff is knowledgeable of Archery for disable.I enjoy shooting w/ them.Its fun.

Nice place to take your family

Love the trail around the pond and the dog park areas. Big soccer and ultimate tournaments are fun to watch while walking the dogs. Plenty of space for hooping to your hearts content! Very clean, poop bag stations galore, and active community calendar events here.

A great place to get in a walk, run, basketball game or Pokemon Go raid battle. The dog park is great and theres lots of different trails got all levels.

Our family loves coming here! The nature center is so fun and the nature paths are great as well. They have these super fun exercise stations through out the nature walks! We absolutely love coming here. Highly recommend to families!!

This park has a lovely wooded (and shaded!) playground and bathrooms too! Weve never done anything besides go to the playground but it looks like theres tons of other fun stuff to do here. Highly recommend!

This park really tries and i like it. I wish the facilities were updated a bit but they really have a lot for the community. It can get a little rough on the courts around evening time, but they generally do a good job of patrolling it. Tennis courts and pickle ball are nice. Plenty of baseball. Bathrooms are clean. Lots of space to walk and run. Playgrounds for kids of a variety of ages. Nice place to have a picnic too.

I love this park! Theres so much to see and do while there and the equipment is clean and appears to be well taken care of. Most of the people (adults and children) tend to be very friendly which adds to the atmosphere as well. My only suggestion would be to add more swings as there are currently only 4 and there tends to be a constant line waiting for one to become available.

We love the play area for kids. Slides and swings and a big sandbox give kids interesting options. Plus, the big trees provide shade in the summer!

Great place to hike, take your dog and find myself spending a lot of time watching little league games there. Also some great programs are held there by the Chesterfield Parks and Rec Dept.

One of Chesterfields nicest parks! Check out the little nature center. They had a rescued chipmunk the last time I visited.

I like coming here to do my walking on the trails or around the field. Ive never had or seen any problems at this park. Its very family friendly. I also like to bring my dog to the dog area
