I love this place so much. I grew up here and my kids are going to as well. This place always kept me at my calmest and the Ducks and the Beautiful upgrade with the playground! Fabulous!
Playground is the best in the metroplex and the rest of the park looks nice too. Unlike some other accessible playgrounds, this one is great for all kids. Plenty of sensory items for kids who enjoy them, accomodations for physical limitations, AND tons of fun and climbing opportunities for typical kids as well. Highly recommend.
Its a great park with cool rides for all ages. There are ducks in the pond and a great area to walk around for exercise, plus tennis court.
Updated playground that is gated (good for the children that wonder near the pond to feed the ducks). Playground includes wheelchair access, unique sensory toy equipment, separate areas for ages 2 to 5 and 5 to 12, adult sized swings and adult sized sit and spin equipment for family to enjoy, bouncy turf flooring, umbrellas for shade. Two bathroom stations with large changing table and water fountains nearby. Great improvement to this old park. My children loved it. Basketball court, volleyball court, soccer field, and swimming pool included here*
Great place to take kids to play, they have all kid of apparatus even water games during summer.
My kids and I have always loved this park, even before the playground was remodeled. Now is even more beautiful with the new playground. My boys love playing and making new friends and I enjoy the long walks.
Great park for kids!! We take our toddlers every week at least once to have some fun there. Nice little river, if you can call it, ducks and some birds to watch. Also, nice playground (see picture) with many things for kids to play with. I would suggest every parent to try it out if you see a nice, sunny day outside. Kids will have a lot of fun. Usually park is packed especially on the weekends.
Cottonwood is a great park I go there daily with my nephews to run cone drills & practice kicking & punting footballs. I go here because the park is huge plenty of space for people to spread out. They have big open grass field over 100 yards which makes it perfect for punting footballs.
Very clean and lots of room to social distance while still enjoying outside.
I needed a place to gather my thoughts, clean house, in other words.I needed to see, feel the peace, with ponds, bridges, cascades, walking trails, and facilities for ANYONE.Thank you!!
Great place to walk. Lots of picnic tables. Play area is very nice and kids seem to love. There are ducks and pigeons to feed. Only complaint is the trash in the pond. Signs with fines should be posted. Turtles are probably dead now because of plastics in water. If pick up trash, is back within few days. No responsibility. Will not go back til cleaned up and taken care of properly.
Always a fun visit. Beautiful scenery. Approx 1 mile easy walk around the park. Fun bridges for kids and adults. Wheelchair and stroller friendly. Pond, ducks, turtles can be seen all around. Bluebonnets in the fields. Parking lot for cars. Picnic areas. Be safe and practice social distancing.
We came here to check out the new inclusion park and were not disappointed. The structure is massive. Big enough that its hard to keep eyes on multiple kids at the same time, especially if the park is busy (it was when we went). It is fenced in, with a fence that is not easily escapable for young children and there was lots do for kids of all ages and abilities. There was also a bathroom with an adult changing station right next to the park, a covered pavilion, and nice river with ducks, and a swimming pool (we went on a rainy day and pool was closed, so Im not sure if it changes the dynamic of the park when its open) but we found the park to be great. The equipment is new, nice, and fun. Lots of things to play with. Roller slides so they dont get so hot, different kinds of swings, a soft cushion ground surface. My six year old and three year old loved it. (Neither are special needs, but the features here looked like they would be great for all levels and kinds of play)
Nice and relaxing place to walk around or reed a book.
What A breath of fresh air to have such a beautiful park in the middle of 3 cities. Ive visited this park for over 30 years and its only gotten better and not showing its age, but rather constant improvements. Sit and watch the birds and turtles or walk and jog the extrawide sidewalks which provide plenty of room for pedestrians going in opposite directions. Mature trees small hills, community swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, large grassy areas for soccer, football, or frisbee and a humongous playground for the kis make Cottonwood Park a great escape for every member of your family or hanging out with great friends. #CottonWoodPark #SocialShark #SocialDistance360
A nice park in a friendly neighborhood.
Best place to go with the little kids. Has a huge playground and lots of ducks. Been there for my entire life as a kid and now for my kids. Its comfort.
Very nice park just needs to be wiped down and floors need to be swept.
Awesome park to take the kiddos. Lots of space for then to play and fence with gate to keep them in
Nice facilities, lots of shade, walking trail, very nice playground facilities for small children.
Our family loves this park! They have a great playground for our little one and a nice walking trail that encircles the pond/creek. We especially like the bi-annual Arts Festival they host here. Highly recommend!
Water was surprisingly dirty, otherwise it was very peaceful and relaxing. This park is always a staple for me and my family.
Beautiful park with sidewalks and creeks and ponds throughout. Very pretty and well kept park. Good for families. Good neighborhood.
It was nice but would have gotten 5 stars if the had seating
Very nice area to take the kids.
The new playground is stellar and has so many little touches to it that promote a young child’s cognitive and social development that we as adults take for granted. It’s definitely my son’s favorite park. Doesn’t hurt that there is an ice cream truck posted up most days!
Nice and clean, beautiful scenery, well maintained.
Cottonwood Park is a beautiful slice of public space. I go take walks there to enjoy the animal life & snap photographs of the birds that gather here. The bridge & creek are a chill spot to just zone out & NOT think about the rat race of life. Of course, the yearly art festival takes place here & is a grand time for family, friends, dates, or just to enjoy on your own. Remember, parks were put here for you & for me, so get out and have some fun at them!
The park here is great! Theyve completed redone the kids play area since I was kid, and it is accessible to all types of people and ages. Highly recommend to families! As far as the water itself, it is dirty, but the ducks are friendly and love to nibble on some left over bread!
Park is great, nice gated play area for different ages. Padded ground. Basketball and soccer field. Picnic areas. Lots of ducks. Not many bugs. Tennis courts and pool.
Its a great place to walk and runn.
The Cottonwood Art festival is a great place to check out some unique and talented artists and vendors. Not sure on the exact date, but I believe it falls on the first weekend of October. Also a great place to walk around the park and enjoy the scenery. Bridges over the water are a fun place to watch the ducks and birds.
I love this park. One of the best Parks in Richardson
Awesome place to chill and jog !
This is a pleasant Park in Richardson Texas. Two weekends a year, the first weekend in May and the first weekend in October, this park hosts a fine arts festival called the Cottonwood Arts festival. There are about sixty artists showing their works, there are fun food vendors and music all weekend long from various bands. Always a lovely and uplifting experience.
This park is a hidden gem in this part of the city. It has a couple of large ponds complete with bridges and walking trails and a few water features. There is a good sized playground for the kids though it was closed due to covid. Ample parking and a few wild flower areas, though it was clear the instagram people had trampled it to take selfies.
My daughter loved this playground!!
Great park with lots of trees and lots of Ducks. Take a lunch and watch Ducks
Its got a new playground, swimming pool, the creek is noce to sit by and have a picnic or you can stroll by the bridge and see the ducks. There is often soccer, football players in the fields and there is a tennis court. Sometimes arts festivals. Its a nice place
Nice spot for them to have held the art festival!
Really love this park, has a really pretty and constantly improving playground, well kept pond. Every now and then I see that events are hosted, today there was an Art Festival I enjoyed going to here. Lots of space, and everything else looks really well taken care of.
Wonderful place to hang out and take photos of the amusing creatures.
Clean and tidy my kids love coming to ride there bicycles
It was a beautiful day outside today. So Im so glad we went and walked the trail around the park/lake. Loved it
Nice, expansive Park surrounding a large pondhosting Bridges so that one may cross over to the other side of the pond. Many older growth trees and some new growth as well but having enough shade and park benches so we can play and rest in the summertime. Im not really sure about the location of this park, it is right next to the Plano Justice of Peace so after you get married on paper you can go celebrate on the Park Bench .
This place is amazing.
Very good option for outdoor potlucks. I believe you don’t have to have a reservation for certain areas. I would encourage you to reserve if you’re planing to do an event so you have a designated area for you and your guest. If there’s people already using the area, with the reservation they will have to respect your hours and either join or move :). Peace !
A little bit boring, but it was definitely really pretty and they took good care of the plants and nature! If you plan on staying for more than an hour, it may get boring, but 30 minute strolls are really nice!
Nice layout. Pretty big pond with a lot of different ducks being all cute and stuff. If you are looking for a pretty tranquil place to just hang out, feed some squirrels (they LOVE walnuts), or just looking for a small park to walk your dog. This is it.
I live by this park and there is NEVER a time where it is just peaceful and quiet. Even extremely late at night like 2-3 a.m in the morning there is still a bunch of people there, like how?? :/ Do not come here for a piece of mind.
Nice place for kids.
It is so good place to BQQ
Beautiful but I wish the pool was open.
It was a nice place in the city to take the kids to that offer to playground a pond with ducks a nice area to walk around the pond with waterfalls and stuff it was a nice little getaway especially if you have kids
This is a nice area for festivals and such. they have so many spaces available for concerts and bands! during the cottonwood festival in may, i love it because we can listen to so many types of music just by walking around. the food is often delicious! so many options!
Great place. Love the view of the water. Fed the ducks too.
Nice place to spend time with the family!
Thats where I had my daughter 15th pix taken..beautiful..friendly place
Calm and peaceful place to spend some time
I love this place!!! A small and cute place where you can just relax and chill out for a little bit!
Free entry, live music, tons of art exhibitions, food trucks, beer garden, and a kids zone. Great time with the family.
Great place for the family, very safe! I also see the police patrolling through the park on a consistent basis!
Beautiful and peaceful!
Beautiful Park best park I seen a long long time. I will be going back.
Nice neighborhood park. Families where there enjoying it as I walk the trail. My dentist is nearby.
Beautiful, large, accessible to all abilities
Nice duck pond
For a free park, this one is hard to beat. State of the art playground equipment, padded grounds, large pavilion for parties, signature bridge overlooking rock waterfalls (can waterfalls cross too!).
Great place for children to play!!
I love the playground
Pretty clean, but if they have an event, the service crew will be really ugly to you about where you should and should not walk IN AN OPEN PARK! I had my baby and his stroller, it was dark, and the man told me to walk along (in the alley)...
Good time at the Arts Festival today. Lots of good food and live entertainment. Love the craft beer offerings.
So beautiful park and birds
Good Place for short walk or bycycling
Cool place lol nice day red group heroes academy church
Cottonwood park playground is fantastic. Its entirely enclosed so that little kids cant run out, it has a springy ground surface (not wood chips!), the equipment is new and there are plenty of things to do, and best of all, most of the playground is shaded. Unfortunately the swings are not shaded, but the rest of it is.
Ducks and fine dining
Over all a nice place, I go out there to train my dogs its very pretty and a good place for photos. The grass does have stickers in some areas, so beware.
I like the fenced/gated playground. Tough for littles to escape to the parking lot or pond. On that note, parking is close for parents & the pond and surrounding area is nice for a walk.
Awesome clean Park thank-you Richardson Texas!
Visited for the art festival. It was after a hard rain but that did not diminish the good attitude and vibes coming from the vendors and their wares. Found a nice watercolor that we hope to frame soon.Parking was the only downside but leaving was painless.
The new playground is excellent. Nice for kids of all ages.
Great arts festival this weekend. Wonderful artists. Good food vendors. Thanks
Calm and renovated park of the play area for the kids alot of ducks here.
One of the best places Ive ever been too
My family thoroughly enjoy this park but unfortunately after the inclusion park was open special needs families like ours can not actually enjoy the park. It is constantly overrun by teenagers they do not understand what inclusiveness is.
