Rented a boat. Tried fishing. Didnt catch anything. Maybe they just werent liking out bait but got to see some jumping fish.. we went out on the tube on the water. Got great sunset photos. And had a great time. Stopped at fishermans village for lunch. Able to dock right at harpoon Harrys. Saw a wrecked boat.

Gorgeous area, nice place to take a boat ride. We had the pleasure of doing just that. Our host gave us a nice little early evening tour of some of the bay. People really seem to enjoy living here. Who could blame them...

At all started here. Been sailing all winter, Gaspiralla Marin was the haulout spot for our survey. Sailing this area is gorgeous full of dolphins and birds. I might make a home base somewhere nearby when Dragons Lair returns.

Beautiful turquoise water, shells to hunt, very short walk from car to beach. 14th street is the best but limited parking on the weekends. Toll is $6 to go over the bridge but the views of the water is totally worth it. No restrooms so be prepared to go for a swim. Great place for small kids to enjoy the ocean during the summer months because it is very calm. Warning, do not swim on the end of the island near the museum and old pier. The current is scary and many sharks run through there. Pretty cool to watch fishermen catch sharks from shore when the Tarpon are running. The small town is quaint and walkable but many shops close late spring through the beginning of fall. Overall this beach is a hidden gem but can become crowded on holidays.

Beautiful place !!! Coming in from the Keys, and having spent 6 months around Marathon to Key West, I was surprised at how little boat traffic that there was. When we would encounter a group of boats they were definitely operated by more knowledgeable Captains. The water was smooth, and the bottom loved the Bruce. Some of the best anchor holding that I have had. Im looking very forward to visiting it again.

Great area to boat and fish. There are many options to catch snook, redfish, trout, and more. This are has the Intercoastal waterway passing through it and therefore has alot of traffic but if you familiarize yourself with charts you dont have to stay within the markers.

The canal system of Punta Gorda Isles leads into the sound. It is great for boating and one can get to Fishermans Village by boat via the sound. Fishermans Village is an outdoor mall that is beautifully constructed. Looks like individual multicolored structures that contain shops as well as rental units. There are several good restaurants and Hurricane Charleys has exceptionally good sushi. highly recommend

Beautiful area. I think of Charlotte Harbor as being in black and white compared to the color of Gasparilla Sound. The red tide has dessimated the fish population and probably will take years to recover.

Dont pay to go to the 4th here. Limited food options. Below average bands. Unless you have toddlers for air bouncing inflatables (which even costs more) dont bother. The ticket idea is also retarded. Take cash.

Was under sail in its environs which are large and vary from curbs, sidewalks, & charming cafes to untouched wilderness purchased by local government conservationist groups. The area is one of the most vital estuaries left in our nation. Great fishing, sailing, kayaking, canoeing, beach walks and true Blackwater swamp adventuring. It is a fine place to spend a life.

This is a great place to launch a kayak. Ive gone both into the intracoastal and into the Charlotte blueway. The blueway was a beautiful lazy paddle among the mangroves. Ive watched the fish, crabs and birds on this side. The intracoastal side can get busy with boat traffic, but when I avoid the weekends and season then the various islands provide ample nature walks.
