Very fun thing to do with family. More than just throwing an axe at a wall. Great food and bar service. With a ton of games to play
Great location for a date, night out with friends or even for the kids! The staff is so polite and great at teaching you the techniques. There are fun party games that you can play once you get the hang of throwing. They even have $2 unlimited soda in these super cute mugs! They also have a weekly throwing league that only costs $5!!So if you are feeling like you got what it takes, I would definitely recommend.Parking is funky in downtown Provo so I would recommend street parking or a nearby parking garage!
We celebrated my husbands birthday here with family! It was so fun - new to many of us, so we were pretty bad but that just provided more laughs! The burger place in the back was awesome too. Loved every minute - thanks for a great experience and good memories.
Me and my friend had a great time here and were surprised at how nice and knowledgeable the staff was. The prices are pretty expensive so I would suggest bringing a bigger group to lower the price per person. Evan was nice and helpful throughout our entire hour session and we did not have to wait long to get started. Definitely call ahead to make an appointment! If you go later in the evening, it’s likely to be less busy.
Not everyone knows this, but I have been throwing axes since I was a wee babe. Every morning since I could walk, I would rise, consume the leftover stew from our cauldron, and immediately begin my training. “Throw your Axe for Odin” my parents would shout, knowing this would motivate me. As I got taller and stronger, my training intensified. “Throw your Axe for Hod,” they shouted as I wielded my axe in a blindfold, to please the blind god. On the eve of my first birthday as a man, I was carried off by a bird of prey. Although I was 9 years old, and grown, I could not fight it off. Some ventured that I was spared from battle, but I know that I was being punished. I was never eloquent and graceful enough to please Bragi. My time with the bird mother taught me this eloquence, but I was far from the homeland now and slowly began to lose touch with my roots. When I heard of Heber Hatchets, I thought I was being given a second chance at being a conqueror. To my dismay, it was full of youths dressed as lumberjacks with no respect for the gods. I see now that I was sent here to turn these youths into conquerors. With time, I am confident I will rule Heber Hatchets. 5/5 Stars
This was the most fun Ive had in months! The atmosphere is awesome and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Go do this. You wont regret it!
This place awesome!! Atmosphere was great, very laid back. Instructor was very helpful. By the end of the night, my date and I were sticking almost every throw, and were now competing for accuracy. Thought the full beard (two hour) experience was the perfect amount of time to learn, then compete.
Super fun place! One of the cheaper axe throwing options around. A little small, the lanes are all very close to each other. Not a lot of parking.
This was such a fun family activity. The workers was so nice to teach us the art of axe throwing since it was our first visit. We will definitely be back!!!
We had fun. They did not adhere to mask wearing if thats important to you. 3 of the backstaff serving food did not have on masks. 2 sodas were $ 6.50. We found the individual slots to throw axes crowded. It was fun but probably would choose elsewhere to throw axes.
You made a great birthday party for a not-so-young guy of our dreams. Thanks to the caring staff everyone in our group felt successful and had a great time. Thanks for an unforgetable day.
If you like huckin hatchets, this is the place! Its pretty expensive unless you go with a bigger group. They offer different axe-throwing games posted on the walls for varied fun. Overall a solid B+ grade.
It was an absolute blast! Staff was very friendly and the burgers at the restaurant inside were amazing! Perfect date night! Were already planning our next visit!
Super fun! The staff was super helpful. Its the perfect place to go on a date while still social distancing! Loved it.
What a unique experience. We absolutely loved it. The restaurant in the back serves some of the best tasting waffle fries I have ever tasted. Great environment, great date.
Best. Activity. Ever. Whether its a first date or youre bored looking for something to do on a Tuesday evening, this is a great place to go. The prices are good and the service is exceptional. You dont have to have any experience to go! Someone there will help you with technique, and they will keep helping you until you get it right. This is one of those experiences you need to have at least once.
We had never been “AXE” throwing before well technically still never have since these weren’t actual axes, they were hatchets in my opinion, but still way fun. I doubt we could have really stuck one in if it was full size anyways. The receptionist was very friendly, and helpful especially when she saw we weren’t doing so well she came over and gave us a few pointers which really helped, towards the end of our hour we were sticking them in most of the time instead of bouncing them off the wall all of the time.I was a little disappointed with only one hour but by the end of that hour the four of us were finished, not exhausted but tired enough to be done.Nice activity to go out on a date with friends, not too much stress and it’s not hard to figure out, and you can be social and be a spaz during the whole thing and nobody cares.
Super fun place to have a date night or hang out with friends. Prices are reasonable too
Great place for axe throwing. Has a table and stools for most throwing lanes, so you can sit while others in your group throw. The hatchets have metal handles with rubber coating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice chill vibe. Great for dates or group activities.
Tons of fun. Nate P. (Provo location) helped out group. He was awesome.
One of the best places to go to have fun. The staff were very kind and would help you if you were having any trouble. I will definitely be returning.
Very polite staff. No wait.
This was a fun place to throw axes. The first time I threw axes was at a different venue, where they showed you how to throw axes and gave you tips on how to improve. Here they did not really focus on that, instead they focus more on simply having fun and playing games. So of you are wondering why you arent doing so well, then this might not be the most helpful place. However my husband and I had fun and really enjoyed our time here.I must say that I appreciate how save this venue is and you really cant get hurt, unless you arent very smart.
Super friendly staff, we had a guy named Aaron teach us and he was super nice and funny and definitely knew what he was doing. The place was Super well kept. Great experience overall
Weve been twice, its great fun
Fun place for a date or group of friends.
It was excellent! We came together, a learning together, then throwing together!
This was a unique experience well never forget! Even for those of us who were absolutely terrible at getting our throws to stick, we had a fun time.I do think it would be more reasonable to charge by the lane instead of $12/hour/person. We had a large party, so each person didnt get as many turns as they would have in a smaller group, for example.
Such a GREAT date place, and so so much fun! Friendly staff, great environment for fun!!
What sounds like a weird concept actually turned out to be a fun afternoon. It amazes me how easily you can dial in a hatchet throw as well as how satisfying it is to embed said hatchet into the wooden targets. My only issues are that the place was grossly understaffed when we were there. A singular employee, (though perfectly nice and amiable to our needs,) was on duty to check us in, explain the setup, maintain all the targets, and observe the safety of the entire event. Also, I would recommend using some sort of scorekeeping app on your phone in leiu of the chalk based scoreboards provided.
This was the most fun Ive had all week (visiting Provo) Id go every night if my shoulders could handle the abuse. Props to the guy working for keeping it cool and fun, providing tips and even offering to take photos of all of the couples there. I also appreciate that he didnt make it weird that I was throwing by myself. Ill definitely be back this week and anytime Im in town.
Took my daughter for her 21st birthday and she killed it!! We had so much fun! Hoping my old arm isn’t hurting tomorrow
Really fun activity! I had fairly low expectations going into it, but it turns out throwing axes into targets is a lot of fun. The staff is great at explaining technique as well as teaching you how to stay safe. I would recommend this for a team building activity or a date night or anything in between.
They don’t follow COVID rules at all. The place was empty when we showed up and when our time was up the place was packed. Every bay was full and they don’t enforce face masks.
AWESOME PLACE!!!! Came here for a bachelor party and it was super definitely worth it. Pretty cheap activity for LOADS of fun! Theyve got a bunch of different game typed to keep you entertained for as long as you want to go for, they let you bring in food which was fantastic for us bachelors, and theyve got incredible staff who make sure everyone is safe, knows how to do well, and most importantly, having a blast. The staff were so kind and cheerful and did the safety training quickly and effectively so we could get right into our manly man activities. Its a Fantastic activity handed to you on a platter by a straight up friendly lumberjack of a Butler. Great job you guys!!!
SO MUCH FUN!! I was hesitant at first and nervous to handle something that could seriously hurt a person, but pretty soon I was loving it!! We had a blast trying the different throwing forms!! It was an absolute blast!! Cant wait to try again!! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good time!
I messed up on our reservation (oops) but the staff was very patient and worked with us to still allow our group to have such a fun night! Friendly staff, fun atmosphere and all the soda you can drink. I cant wait to come back!
That was a lot of fun. Will do it again.
SO much fun! My husband and I went there for date night. It was such a unique and fun experience :) Aaron was working that night and taught us how to throw. He watched each of us throw and gave us tips individually, it was so nice. He was also hilarious. Made the whole experience so fun.
Took my wife here for a date and we had a blast! The employee was nice and taught us a few different ways to throw (it made it 10x better that he was wearing a red and black checkered flannel #lumberjack). We felt completely safe despite not really knowing what we were doing in the beginning. The place was clean and each lane had their own table and benches which was nice. Overall fun and relaxed environment. We will definitely be coming back with the kids next time. (For those wondering, no alcohol at this one.)
Fun place. Id never been axe throwing before, but I enjoyed. I pretty much sucked at first, but by the end of the hour I was doing alright. Its a good place for a date or group activity. Four stars instead or five for the price. Its pretty expensive for a pretty simple setup.
Great time. Great price, fun atmosphere, and just all around a good time. Well done guys. Ill be back.
Awesome service and experience!! i would highly recommend! if you’re under 18 and not accompanied by an adult, don’t forget to have a waiver signed ahead of time!
Hubby and I went here for date night and it was so fun. Neither of us had done axe throwing before, but the staff walked us through the basics and helped every time we had questions. You can just throw or they have lots of game suggestions you can follow. We will absolutely be back again and again.
This place is great fun! For a transplant the kegs in the back were a bit of a surprise (soda, not beer) but the staff is knowledgeable and quick to help. Prices are perfectly reasonable, although just logistically a group of 3-5 works best.
Really a nice experience, fun and really not as hard as it seems. Listen to the coach and you can hit the 10 points mark. After 1h 9 out of 10 throw stick to the board.
Lots of fun, way easier then I thought it would be. You get a quick 3 min how to lesson if you have never tried before. They have chalk boards to keep score. And posters with different options of game play. My girlfriend and I had a great time. Definitely going back again.
I took my kids ranging from 10 to 16 and we all had a great time. My 16 year old is planning to return with his friends. The staff are friendly and helpful for those who are throwing for the first time. The soda fountain left a lot to be desired, but that has nothing to do with the axes.
Lots of fun. Different games to play. Better than bowling.
I went for a group date and it was so fun, the worker was so helpful and kind and kept checking on us. Even though we were the only ones in there is was an amazing atmosphere I cant wait to see what else they come up with!!
Very fun place to pretend youre a lumber jack with friends or a date.
Went to Heber Hatchets with my family. I could see the experience shed anxiety and build confidence in my family members as we increased in ability. Not to mention it was a lot of fun!!!!!
So fun!! Had a team event and Heber Hatchets really made a difference in keeping us all on track and having the best time!
I couldn’t hear the instructions because the music was so loud and the girls voice was very quiet! She was very sweet though and willing to help! Also the wood SUCKS!! It is too hard and needs to be softer so the axe can actually stick! But it is a cool feel and store! Just please get a new wood supplier or change out the wood more frequently!
Top dog business. super impressive. especially those employees
This place is so fun! The staff is super friendly and it is such a fun environment. There are tons of game options to keep you playing all night!
Took my boyfriend and friends for his birthday and we showed up at the perfect time and got to choose our lane. We enjoyed practicing for a while until everyone showed up. We really got a work out but in the end had a great time together!
Went hatchet throwing as a family before Christmas, bought a soda mug to take home Free refills for life! Was sore the next day but well worth the Pain.
These guys are great! Love that safety is their #1 priority. They are always upgrading and finding a better way to do things. Recommend 10/10!
Lots of fun. Great staff. Gave us a few pointers.
The people that work there are so helpful and what a great place for parties.
Awesome place with great friendly staff! Its a lot easier than expected! Very fun and competitive! The wife and I played horseshoe scoring and made it very fun! Will definitely be coming back!!
Went for a friends bachelor party here and it was a blast! They had a great staff that was willing to help those that were struggling a bit. 100% would go again.
This place was awesome! Went there with a couple of buddies from high school. They hold a tournament on Tuesday nights that was a lot of fun. Will definitely go again!
I was a little unsure about how fun this would be and I was very pleasantly surprised. It turned out to be an amazing experience! We went on a busy Saturday night without reservations but the staff was very helpful in finding a later time the same evening for us to return. The safety/instructions speech was quick and to the point so we could get right to business. Throwing the axe was much easier than anticipated and, as mentioned above, really fun! The hour we had to throw went by much too fast! I cant wait to go back again and would very highly recommend.
We walked in last Saturday night, and had the worst experience I’ve ever had with axe throwing.Lane - They gave us the worst lane and it was awful. The lane itself is directly in line with a staircase which shortens your throw distance making it harder to stick the axe in the board. Plus standard axe throwing regulations indicate you should throw from 16 feet away from the board, these lanes have you throwing at 10-12ft. So good luck with your full rotation! Finally, there are wood chips littered in the rubber by the target so retrieving your axe is basically asking for a sliver in your hand.Board - Our board was completely splintered - you couldn’t even see most of the lines/numbers. And they refused to change out the board even after we asked. Not to mention it was dry as a bone. Good axe boards will be lightly moistened to help the axe stick, these were not.Axe - The axe was in very poor shape and on three throws I stuck the bottom of the handle into the board which is frustrating. The rubber part of the handle had completely broken away from the steel and flapped around.Price - This is one of the most expensive axe throwing places in Utah county by far and the value in no way justifies the cost.Customer Service - Here is where we were most disappointed. The young man helping us was very unprofessional. He was very quiet and made no eye contact while “teaching” us how to throw the axe and what’s more his method of throwing didn’t work! Then when I asked him to switch lanes he told me a group was coming in later and there was nothing he could do - despite acknowledging that we had the worst lane in the building. I told him we were leaving (after having been there only 20 min.) and he offered no apology and no refund. I understand if young people are socially awkward but this treatment tells me that the owners have spent little to no time training their staff to put the customer first.Space - Expect a very cramped venue. So if you enjoy hurling axes 3 inches away from perfect strangers this is your place. Oh and the tables? Expect the management to inform you that half of the tiny table is your, the other half is for the people next to you.I would not recommend this to my friends or family. Especially when Social Axe Throwing is literally 10 minutes away in Orem and %100 better in every aspect. Heber Hatchets cost me $35 down the toilet for two people and it’s the worst money I’ve ever spent.
Love the staff!! Yall are amazing and Im gonna miss you all! ️Jake
Great place! Very friendly staff. The place wasn’t too big so a medium sized group would work best here. It was the first time I’ve ever thrown axes but it was very fun! Definitely would go again! And I would bring a date there as well. Very reasonable prices!
Axe throwing is sooo much fun! I highly recommend this place.
Fun activity for a group. Great relaxed atmosphere.
One of my favorite places! I love the atmosphere and the drinks from the barrels. It would be awesome if it had appetizers like top golf!
Our bachelorette party group had a great time! Jake was super friendly and chill, and all of the employees were really helpful. I would definitely recommend!
So much fun! Well definitely be back!
Had a great time at Heber Hatchets. If your a first timer at throwing, be patient with yourself and ask for tips from the staff. Dont forget to look at the wall behind you for different games you can play when throwing.
This place was a lot of fun they had different games and prizes for our group, the staff took good care of us (a group of 12 people).
Had an awesome first experience! Staff was diligent on the safety and variety of throws that can be used.
It’s fun enough for what it is. But the staff totally ripped us off. They could not find our reservation so they let us go for 45 minutes. Great. We thanked them and signed up.Only problem is they charged us for a full hour. And even then they overcharged. Giving themselves a tip I guess?Pretty sketchy.
Best way to spend a night! Cant wait to go back! The employees were fun and helpful!
This place is awesome. 10/10 would recommend
This place is an absolute blast, and I definitely recommend for a guys night out or date night. They staff is fun and helpful, the music is great, and the activity is AMAZING. Yes, you should go.
This was my first time there. I didnt think Id need some instructions on how to throw a hatchet into wood, but it was surprisingly harder than I thought. Once you get it down, its very satisfying to stick it in the wood. I even got the handle end stuck in!
Really chill. They do a great job of explaining quickly and leaving you to your own axe throwing. So fun
This place is great for an adventurous night with your friends, team building or even date night! You start off with a safety briefing/video and then you pair up to practice, before the competition begins. The staff does an excellent job with safety and teaching you how to throw. Some throws youre hitting your mark every time and others the ax is bouncing off the wall and hitting the ground with an embarrassing loud clang.I recommend arriving 10 minutes early to allow time to check in, sign the waiver and get a brief safety tutorial. We thoroughly enjoyed this unique activity, staff was also very friendly and helpful.I highly recommend checking this place out, we definitely will be back!
Loved it best way to get out some frustration
We went for my husbands birthday and we all had a blast. A really fun, family activity!
Went during the day. They have cool sodas. Had a great time!
The employees were great! And they were super helpful! The place itself is really well sent up and everything is convenient to use.
Really great pricing! And in the first hour, felt like it wasn’t plenty of time throwing an axe! highly recommend and will be visiting again
Great place!! Cant wait for them to serve burgers!!
