I have been visiting for decades! It has only improved over the years! The municipal pool, trails, playgrounds and parking! The views as well since the piers and surrounding old houses have been upgraded in appearance. The views of the PORTSMOUTH, I dont care what the Supreme Court says, NAVEL SHIPYARD is still the same, though when the Coast Guard cutter and subs are docked, it can be more interesting.Well maintained area. Municipal pool is clean, well staffed and the mens locker room is a mix of new amenities with a slightly beaten up shower areas and lockers. The shower water was cold! Brrrr! The pool is huge and runs deep with lots of space. Lifeguards are on constant watch! Lots of seats.Three dollars for non-residents. Good price. Cash onlyVolleyball area available.I think the walking area still might be open. launch available. Individual areas for what you plan to visit. Go early!I recommend multiple visits, especially when the tall ships visit.

One of the most disappointing visits I have ever had. Not worth a drive of more than a mile.

Similar to Four Tree island at one end, Peirce island has some walking paths to explore as well.

Love bringing the kids here. There is a large playground that they love to run and frolick around. Plenty of open space with that nice ocean air. You are also surrounded by civilization, but its distant enough so it still serves as a welcome break away from the hustle and bustle. Might be too close to the shipyard for some, though.Plenty of exploration opportunity as well with the surrounding other islands, like Four Tree and Goat.

Peirce Island (the correct spelling is Peirce) is great place to bring your dog for an off leash experience. Being an island, dogs are isolated from road traffic, except for the occasional parking car or SUV. There are beaches for canine swimmers, and lots of trails for those preferring land. The surrounding views are picturesque. The most unfortunate thing is that this park is apparently about to close for at least 4 years, if not permanently. The municipal water treatment plant on the island is about to be overhauled and apparently this process necessitates closure of the park.

Makes no sense that dogs are not allowed. Unattractive industrial look. Definitely not worth a visit.

Closed until 2020 due to work being done but it is a great off-leash Park when it is open.
