A beautiful place to visit, especially as the tide is going out. Great history behind the mansion and its original owner, before revolutionary times. Beautiful landscape and views of the bay and its boat traffic. Walking out to the island at low tide is fun, as you find so many shells and abundance of life. Enjoy the walks in the woods and viewpoints amongst them.
A beautiful Fall walk to the water. Some great views from the yard. ️
Cool place .. Places to walk along the ocean.. And you can take a dip too.
Peaceful and away from the downtown area. Walk the trails, fish, or just relax and watch the boats go by.
Very nice, did not go inside I was hiking around it!
The park was a nice walk in the cool trees. Well.marked trails with few people to run into.
Great place to go with your kids and swim and just relax also its FREE
Quiet views of the water, easy access to short trails
What a beautiful area of portsmouth nh.
This home used to belong to my husbands ancestors. It was surreal to be able to walk the property and we hope to return after the threat of COVID is gone to see the inside.
Wanda has a very good food I like there hamburger fris soda ice cream
The mansion was closed, but watching the sunset from the shoreline was memorable
I went on a rather hot day, so the tour was limited to where I, nor my guide would collapse in the heat. A wonderful piece of history and my guide was extremely knowledgeable of the history. I will be going back on a cooler day/time to bask in the full experience of the W.C. Mansion.
If you like turn of the century architecture, your good... just dont bring the kids...
My daughter recently visited the mansion. She couldnt wait for me to see it. The tour guide my daughter had told some of the colorful history. The tour guide we had kept telling us we had to hurry and was a little rude
Weird old house, definitely worth taking a look around. Odd rooms all over the place. The guides, as quirky as they turned out, did not provide much information about the people who lived there so recommend reading up before.
Its a nice place with estuary views and walking trails. Make sure to check out the giant anchor by the house!
Was closed due to fall season. Beautiful area to see.
Beautiful setting, quit tranquil waters. Good place to look around and relax
The mansion itself is sparsely furnished and of mild interest, but the setting is a lovely and peaceful spot to relax and watch boaters and kayakers go by.
Cool place
Ada is an amazing tour guide. Great visit today.
My cousins wedding was here! It was awesome.
Good looking and well maintained mansion. Has lawns for picnic and a trail for hiking. Did not go inside as it was off season and building was closed.
Some well preserved New Hampshire history with a interesting story
Great hour long tour of a piece of NH history! Good value for an opportunity to see the grounds and see such a unique property. Highly recommend!
Would love to tour the whole place some day.
Beautiful views
I visited the mansion several years ago an I must say that the tour left an impact on me that is still powerful to this day. This is not a typical colonial home, this is a well thought out masterpiece of the 17th and 18th centuries. Not to mention the tour guide did an excellent job which allowed me to see the mansion as if the the Wentworth and the Coolidge families had only moved out a few days prior. The only drawback was that I was not able to see the stables since they were torn down to build the visitors center. Nonetheless, this is one of the greatest New England homes ever built and I strongly urge any aspiring architects or historians to see this architectural marvel.
Absolutley beautiful location!
Was really disappointed. Had to walk quite a ways to get to the mansion. Plus, there wasnt enough going on
Beautiful view enjoy the tour
Beautiful place to visit!
Was not open yet so cant rate 5...LOL
We just walked around the grounds on a warm spring day, we didnt go in for a tour. The grounds are beautiful
A pretty little spot with some hiking, but I wasnt terribly impressed.
Be warned, when they say it closes at 4pm what they actually mean is sometime after three oclock. The building is awesome, if a bit hard to find, if you dont already know where you are going, and the loose gravel road means your car may pick up a few dings. Just make sure to get there well before closing.
Nice and petty place to visit. with great views
Beautiful place to visit
