The Cathedral is a towering structure in Portland. The Cathedral was build in the 1860s and serves as an example of Gothic Revival. You can develop an appreciation for the sheer size of the building during a walk on the grounds. Note the many windows, which I found to be interesting.

Incredible building. Imposing and beautiful. Ive been looking everywhere for a Churches that offer the traditional Latin Mass here in Maine, the Catholic Mass as its suppose to be, I should say, and the Saint Gregory the Great Latin Mass Chaplaincy offers the Tridentine Latin Mass at this cathedral at 12 pm every Sunday. If you are a traditional Roman Catholic, this Mass at this Cathedral is for you! If you are curious about the Latin Mass but dont know where to find it, look no further. If you have never attended a Mass of the Extraordinary Form, you are missing out on the most edifying and sacred service in the Western world. A beautiful Mass in a beautiful cathedral.

I attended a wedding here, its a stunning cathedral consisting of two large areas. The interior is spacious, clean and beautiful. The parking outside is ample, with two entrances. A lovely place to host and attend a wedding!

Wednesday evening vesper bells. Wafts of Frankincense drew me into chapel for beautiful closing of meditation w/Monstrance. A simple, short & beautiful experience.

Beautiful yet quaint cathedral that tops the very essence of Portland, Maine. Its very traditional looking from both the outside and inside of the cathedral, but offers more of a calming effect on the eyes. Its not as elaborate as other cathedrals out there, but has an almost modernized American feel to it, which is what I like about it. One of a kind.

I went to this church in the 50s when I was little. I went to the school there from 1st thru 9th. The church has both a chapel and a huge main church. The old statues are beautiful and I love the columns. Has multiple peaks on the roof with slate tiles. The main church has amazing stations of the Cross. They are trimmed in gold. The people paid for those with their pennies. The main part is so tall. Their is a beautiful pipe organ that goes right thru you. Visit the church. Stay for a service. They about half the length of the old days. Street parking. You will really enjoy the structures. Also the Mass If you care to stay
