Had an amazing time at this museum that doesn’t get too much attention. Lots of amazing little pieces of history and tons of models and artifacts that makes for a great way to spend an hour or two. The hourly tours that take you through every aspect of the working steam powered boat. Prices are reasonable and not too expensive, views on and off the boat are fantastic. Not too crowded and it’s a perfect way to enjoy a little piece of the past. Staff is super friendly and location is perfectly situated near downtown.

Visit this nice little attraction on the water front of the river next to downtown Portland for something different. It is really worth the visit and gives you a good glimpse into the history of Oregons riverboat days. This is a good activity to do just about any time, but we went first thing when they opened and got our own private tour by one of the very knowledgeable docents. He really went into great detail about all aspects of the boat, the things that happened back in the day and current facts as it was related to why they were there and how they existed. It wont take up much of your time, but will fill an hour or more. This attraction is great for both adults and kids of all ages.Dont forget to ask for AAA discount if you are a card member.

Dont have any direct knowledge of museum. I purchased tour tickets online and showed up an hour later to learn they werent having the tour. Money was promptly refunded and employees were very apologetic but Im only in town for a couple days and was super excited only to be disappointed. The management and promotions/communications folks need to get on the same page and post accurate information

My 2 1/2 year-old Granddaughter was too young to appreciate the maritime history and the engineering technology (and it was a very hot, humid day,) but Grandfather enjoyed it very much.

We very much enjoyed the tour of the last remaining functioning steam powered tug boat in the US. The docent was very knowledgeable and interesting. It was well worth the $7 for the tour and its nice to support such facilities.

My 9 year old boys loved it. Not often you get to see the captains quarters and the engine. They were excited to learn about all the engineering. Our guide was awesome and handled all the questions from the kids well.

Very attentive and somewhat interactive tourthat gives insight to the rich history of Portlands founders and rivermen. They do have limited cruises in the summertime that is highly recommended and a must to reserve early as not to miss out on this family friendly tour!

Neat boat. It has some ship related info and memorabilia on the main deck, but really the reason to check this place out is to geek out on a really old, still in use steamship. Not good for little kids (less than 5), as the tour lasts longer than an hour and there are many things that could injure a young child. Also, some of the walkway areas are narrow and the side rail consists of a single chain.

My husband and I completely enjoyed this water tour/history lesson of steam watercraft and bridges through Portlands waterway. Well worth the nominal cost.

Im sure its great when all tge animals are in their exhibits. There was a lot of remodeling going on so a lot of animals were MIA. A little warning before we entered would have been nice.
