Great place to set up RV when working in the area. Just be prepared to take care of yard work.

This park was disappointing. There is not many parks to choose from in this area of the country, but my advice to you is pick somewhere else. This park is advertised in the Good Sams book but they do not offer a Good Sams discount. The park itself is not very clean and the further you get back into the park the more drity it gets. They say you will get 50 channels over your antenna but we could only pic up 9. 4 channels that would only come in for a few min at a time and 5 Spanish channels that came in crystal clear. Too bad Im not bilingual. Maybe we would have gotten more channels if they would not have parked us directly under the powelines. There are very loud fireworks set off every night for hours at a time. Fireworks allowed in the park seemed like a bad idea since everyone uses propane. The train was close but did not create any problems. The fireworks were by far more of a nuisance. People drive very fast in the park. The staff was nice, they have a very nice laundry room and there is a small store on the property and they are located just minutes from south shore line train station.

The park is a mobile home park that has RV parking. Its mostly older mobile homes, and you hear fire works every night. The cops have been here as well. There is a run down feel, some of the mobile homes have seen better days, and most of the streets are pitted. The office staff is nice, there is a drop off Laundry and a small convenience within walking distance, which is a plus. Pricing is great, $25 a night per week. Ok for short term stay.

They have the BEST STAFF ever... super helpful and accommodating, Descent spacing between lots, City water, Full hook up, 50 Amp service. Weekly garbage collection. The pads are concrete so it’s really nice and level. The water has excellent water pressure. Location is so convenient to Chicago, shopping & restaurants. Very close to Lake Michigan. And oh, if you have a furr babies the dog park is minute away. Literally you can work from your site to the dog park/ kids park, it so awesome . Convenience store upfront and laundry Matt, we enjoy the drop off option at the laundry Matt. The office allows you to forward your mail/ packages. They are still on the process of updating the place up and making it more homie for everyone that come and stay. Their newly renovated office now is super cute and awesome !This place will always be our home whenever we are in NW Indiana / Chicago area. And we loved our neighbors they’re all awesome, always willing to help out.

I have lived here for 5+ years & loved every minute. My neighbors are first class & stand-up citizens. Many may not have the best impression of our community, but we have many residents who have lived here over 25 years, and being a relative newcomer, I consider myself honored to be counted among them. Many may have the opinion this is a lowlife area in which to live, but I can affirm we get considerably fewer visits from the local law enforcement authorities than those in Portage proper. So, judge as you will, we stand up proudly for our place among our community.

My first thought was Im not staying here long . The lady that was in the trailer next to me had a big dog that she didnt clean up after so there were dog droppings on that side of my RV. Then there was the train. The tracks run on the backside of the campground and trains come by pretty regularly. The reason why I stayed was the price was affordable. The people in the office went out of there way to work with me because I wasnt sure when I would get laid off from the job I was on . All and all if I work in that area again which I probably will, I would go back . This is more a place for the working class like myself with a few families that live there year round. From what I saw . I would recommend.

Wonderful stay and great customer service. Extremely helpful and even helped my hubby into the site while I was in paying. Staff is awesome, polite and just amazing! Sites were on a concrete runway which made it nice to park. Each site had its own trash can as well as a huge patio for chairs and tables and such.

Im a pregnant travel nurse staying by myself. Staff here have been phenomenal! In the first three days one of the staff members put insulation around the base of my RV on his off time for a small fee(it was 2 days before Christmas when he finished and desperately needed!) We arrived after hours and the staff member Cisco was so friendly and helped us get situated just perfect. They even provided a 120 volt converter to add to my electric cord since my RV wouldnt plug straight in which I proceeded to buy from them a couple days later. Another day I couldnt get my propane tank to connect right and they had the maintenance guy Dan over to help me in less than 8 minutes!! Neighborhood is quiet, clean and feels very safe. Water good and hot. Definitely a great experience for my first long-term RV stay!

The staff are great, Francisco and his wife will take care of all your needs. If you are visiting Chicago this is a good place to stay out of the big city, and it is very economical. You can catch a commuter train 5 minutes away and save all the city driving. Dont judge the place by the fact that it is a trailer park with older units, the people we met were all friendly and respectful.

The park is an old mobile home park. Its not pretty, but the people are friendly, and its in a great location. There is a convenience store and a laundromat there, but no traditiinal amenities like most RV parks. No bath house, no pool, no utilities included with the exception of water and trash. I also have to mention the trains that run by every couple hours...shaking the whole camper...might be a problem if youre a light sleeper. There is a lovely park not far away, and a short drive to most places.

A few months ago, I made a reservation at Woodland Village RV Camper Mobile Home Park, as part of a large trip. My wife and I just wanted to stop for a night as we were traveling through. I should have suspected something was out of place when I made the reservation as they did not have a reservation system. When we arrived, it was after 5 so we called the after hours number as instructed. No answer, in fact we never to this day heard back even though I spoke to someone the previous day. On top of it, it looks like a total dump. We moved on to a KOA in South Bend/Elkhard that was very nice. DO NOT STOP HERE!

The staff was very friendly and helpful and this made it a good experience. The price is right as it was $30 per night with full hookup and a cement pad. The south shore train is close by which made our trip to Chicago museums easy. I only give three stars however because this place is a trailer park with some VERY old and rundown year round trailers with some questionable characters living there. The sites are close to an active train line and busy roadway which makes it loud and disruptive. After reviewing several other campsites this appears to be the norm for campsites in the area (the year round trailers and train noise). If youre looking for a place to set up camp and then go explore Chicago, then this is perfect...if you want a family friendly area to hangout and relax, then you may want to look else where.

The owners or people that work here are super nice and helpful. They have city water hook up and waste dump right at your campsite. You can also get Comcast cable if you plan to stay awhile, as well as a mailbox. My only complaint is that theyre are too many mobile home trailers. They look run down so it gives the campground a dirty feeling. Were currently parked in between two of them. Also i wish the lots were a little bit bigger. Its pretty crammed. There is a laundry mat and Covienance store so thats a plus.
