Great spot to either swim in the river or the ocean and the best thing is they are both nice sandy beaches. Parking is fairly limited so it never feels to busy I the beach but it is hard to turn around in your car if you dont find a space.
The only public access (on foot at least) to the mouth of the Elwha. Short hike, like quarter to half mile, to the beach. Lots of driftwood, estuary, bird viewing, and you can walk up along the river a ways and there is a trail back out to the parking area.
Lots of beautiful sites! Very clean! Short easy walk
Great location to access the beach and the Elwha River. Few people and thousands of seagulls.
Many choices on the menu... all great. Staff friendly. Crowded but worth it.
Didnt make it all the way in as there was a gate and we didnt feel like walking that far.
Good easy light walk for calves after weekend workout
Such an amazing place to go relax & unwind with your family friends & dog. Absolutely love it, always changing with tides
Always A lovely view
The Elwha estuary is completely different, after removal of the two dams: it is now a broad sandy beach, not ankle-turning cobble. Fine evidence of the benefits of dam removal.
A beautiful place. Thank you to the private property owners who allow access.
The best place to catch an amazing view of the straights for sunsets and the wild life that surrounds this amazing place ...highly recommend this trip
Nice they really fixed the place up I hope everyone respects the place and keeps it clean
Beautiful beach and wetlands area, great for beach walking, exploring tide pools, watching wildlife, also a popular spot to surf.
Its enjoyable for everyone to run around & explore, to just have fun & really relax
Great place to view sea birds and a great river entering the bay.
Love this beach just wish it was a lil more sandy.
Isolated feel, yet easily accessible.
Rehabilitated river is always showing new things.
It is amazing!
