Olympic National Park was truly magical! We checked out Hoh rainforest and hole-in-the-wall beach area. The rainforest was enchanting. Me and my boyfriend both felt like we were in a fairytale forest and we loved every moment of it. It wasn’t overly packed either, like most places right now.The hole-in-the-wall area was a little hike to get to I would say at least half a mile. The only way we saw to get to the beach was climbing over a bunch of dead trees. It didn’t feel very safe. I wouldn’t recommend children or dogs but there were both out there. We didn’t actually walk to the hole in the wall rock because it was all the way across the beach.Overall a very nice National Park, we didn’t get to explore the whole park unfortunately but did what we could within a day.I think it was the average price for national parks- $30 for 7 days
Wonderful combination of mountains/valleys, lakes/rivers/oceans, old forest and open areas, glaciers, waterfalls - some of everything and a lot of much of it. Some areas easy to get to and other take skilled hikers and need permits. Pictures cant give you the full 180 view of standing in a mossy forest or on a mountain top. Wonderful park!
I came here from Ukraine, I was standing there and couldnt stop looking at this ancient beauty that was tailored for millions of years so I can come and enjoy it Thank you, Mother Nature!I love Olympic National Park because there are a lot of trails for lazy people like me So, if you want an easy hike without steep climbing, I do recommend hiking here. I am pretty sure that pro climbers also will find something interesting here.
Awesome place! Even just driving through stopping at all the stops on the way was amazing. I brought my dog, since I didn’t know they weren’t aloud on any trails. THAT rule I would like to change. Regardless, it was great and stunning without walking on any trails.
Olympic national park is an unsung hero of national parks. We did the switchback trail hike and the view from the top was just breathtaking. If you want to visit the beaches and mountains everything then two days trip would be great. I visited this park last month and the wildflowers started to bloom and looked to amazing during the hike. From the top you could see the ocean and mountains at the same time.
One of the most beautiful places Ive ever been. I could see Victoria, Canada from the top of Hurricane Ridge. The view of the fog rolling in from the ocean into the mountains was amazing.
Wow. Olympic National Park is so amazing. We visited the top of Hurricane Ridge and then took the road to Obstruction Point. The views are like no other. Though the road was a bit intimidating in some places it was well worth it. From there we hiked the Grand Valley and Badger Valley trails. We even saw a black bear at Grand lake. Looking forward to exploring more trails in the park!
Such a beautiful place. We couldnt go inside the visitors center but there was two rangers to answer questions. There are a couple of walks near the visitor center, one was very very easy and accessible. The Peabody Creek loop isnt accessible but still fairly easy. It gets you into the deep woods so it feels like youre really far away but it starts and ends right at the visitor center.
Over all nice park. 3 hours away from federal way and 1 hour and a half from Forks. Beautiful place mountain views and restaurants were really delicious and interesting to us to visit. The trails and the fallen trees are really beautiful to watch. As well if you drive from there to Port Angeles you would see Canada on the other side. Wow this is nice to explore!
Beautiful place with lots of breathtaking scenery. Wish we had more time to explore because there was so much to see. Bring a raincoat.
OMG I just love this place . Park it’s really big so have more than 1 day to visit. First day we stay at local motel at Port Angeles and we did a Hurricane Ridge ( the lane to ranger station it’s long so be patient). At the top we did a Hurricane Hill Trail ( it’s 3 miles trial - parking it’s 1,5 miles behind the Visitor Center. Next day do any of beach ( all of them are beautiful) and go to Rain Forest
Weve had an awesome experience at the park. Despite the overcast, the place has breathtaking views throughout. We chose a hurricane hill trail and our 4 year old made it there and back - not a recommended technique if you have a four year old as weve seen a few (very few) kids of a similar age simply break down on the way there.Recommendation for hikers with kids, have plenty of water and snacks on you. If the weather is right, it will be worth awhile.
I had a great time in Olympic National Park and received a warm welcome from the staff and locals. Jeff Mullins Photography Adventures. Get your hike on!
One of our favorite parks because of its diversity. Really could spend over a week here hiking all the trails, but we spent a day at hurricane ridge, lake crescent, sol duc falls, rialto beach, and the hall of mosses at hoh rain forest. If we had more time, it would be nice to see ruby beach and quinault rain forest. Will defintely be back.
Only been to Lake Crescent, Mount Storm King and Marymere Falls so far. Great experience. Can’t wait to explore more.
Great views plentiful hikes everywhere rivers giant trees whats not to love here?
Best park in the Olympic Peninsula! So much to see and do that our review will not do justice. Slow down, take it easy, enjoy nature. Find a spot and just relax. There is plenty of things to worry about at home and work, none of that is here. I am so thankful for this natural resource to just get away and enjoy.
A must visit place if you are in the area! Definitely go to Hurricane Ridge!
The drive here is really gorgeous. We were welcomed by the gorgeous Lake Crescent, and the rest was just amazing.
Didn’t like much, not as good as mt. Rainer.. you will confuse for directions because of no network. Food option in Port Angeles are really good compared to my Rainer
Our experience at Hurricane Ridge was amazing. If you havent seen it yet I would advise you to go. You will love it!
Oh wow, where to even begin. Temperate rainforests, glacial peaks, and lush coastline all in one park! Due to the immense size and inaccessibility to some of the regions within the park it is difficult to cover everything in a single trip. The moss in Olympic is unlike anywhere else. It covers EVERYTHING. West Washington is known for its moss so you cant miss it here. Big foot may be hiding somewhere in thickets of green.
Various scenery, great mountain view, pretty trails everywhere.
Like any national park, worth the price of admission and more. The upkeep is good, and the views are spectacular. The only downsides are presented by fellow visitors, which the park itself cant be responsible for.
Breathtakingly beautiful! Being this was my first time out west I was floored by the raw beauty of this place.
Amazing views! Wildlife is all over. The blacktail deer did not mind grazing just feet away - small size deer, very inoffensive. First evening we drove up towards the visitor center but the fog was so dense that we had to turn back (no cell phone coverage to know how far we actually were). In the morning we drove back up, and in clear weather we realized we were previously a quarter of mile away from the center. So yeah, the weather plays a big role in being able to enjoy the sites.
Its a must visit. If youre on the. 101 just pull off to the big cedar or fir tree or into the small ranger stations to enjoy a true rain forest experience.
Easily, one of the most beautiful parks on the west coast. Getting great weather is tricky - the only con to my trip. Visitor centers are open but strictly follow CDC guidelines. This park is HUGE. It offers plenty of activity options for various skill levels per activity. Ecosystem varies per side so planning ahead will save you time and energy. Calling the rangers before hand for road and trail conditions or even recommendations was very helpful and easy.
A massive park filled with rainforest and beach views. A great wilderness getaway. My only complaint is the distance between different areas of the park. No cut through roads makes getting to each area 1-3 hours to see new areas.
I simply love the area. Port Angeles makes me feel happy when I visit her every year except this one, 2020, which prevented me from visiting my son and family ! I enjoy the place, its beautiful areas like Lake Crescent, its people, Sequim, Port Townsend. I miss my trip there and hope soon I maybe able return.
This is an amazing national park. It would take weeks to see everything it has to offer. The western coastal area is an awesome place (split rock and hole in the walk are amazing to see) and Hurricane ridge is breathtaking. I was only able to be there for two days, but I would 100% go again.
Hands down one of Americas best national park. You will see rain forest, snowcapped mountain, coastline, mountain lakes and Canada . Beat that .
Stunning views! An absolute must see. The trees are huge and magnificent. Its a breathtaking experience. Hall of Mosses was incredible, although the trail was a bit crowded with families and young children. If you are looking for serenity, explore some of more challenging trails.
Good place for young family short hikes. 360 views on any trail. Trails are stroller friendly. I didnt see any pets. There are also a few harder trails that seemed shorter than described in the map. Very busy getting through the admission gate.
Its awesome, some of it is closed off to vehicles. But you can still walk around. Which lets you enjoy the scenery better.
An amazingly diverse national park which has something for everyone. Beaches, dense green rainforests, alpine ranges and pristine lakes!
So beautiful and big with so many amazing things to see. Perfect example of Washington wild life.
One of the best NPs not just in Washington but in the entire country as well.
Wonderful forest bathing! Great food at the lodge and a lovely lake with multiple activities. Love go back and spend a few days?
A beautiful way to mix mountains, valleys, rain forests, and trees. You get everything at this park. Hurricane Ridge is a must if youre a mountain fan. The Hoh Rain forest is a must for the more green fans. Terrific park. Stay for a month if you can and surf Zillow for land available in Port Angeles.
This national park has stolen my heart! Words cannot describe how beautiful and majestic it is. I almost felt like I was walking in a real life fairy tail. Everything is picture perfect and if you look close enough you realize you are surrounded by the animals of the Forest! Birds, Elk, sea lions, whales to name a few. I cannot wait until I can return to explore others parts of the park
I have hiked in the national forest and recently was able to go to Hurricane Ridge and Rialto Beach when visiting Seattle. Make sure you get there early, Hurricane Ridge fills up and the rangers institute a one in and one out approach for cars. I think we wait an hour and a half to get in. The quickest path is probably taking the Edmonds - Kingston Ferry. We missed the 8AM one and had to wait for the next one which delayed our time getting here. Rialto beach parking is tricky so be patient! However, its perfect at sunset. Make sure you plan enough time to get back to the ferries or plan on taking the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (as we did).
Simply amazing!! Not many National Parks are along the shoreline, yes, I know there are some. When I was here, one of the scariest roads Ive ever driven on is here in this park. Yes, I made it back to the bottom.
Beautiful park with scenic views and great trails. Main points of interests are a bit spread out. Good to plan ahead and stay for a week if possible. Maps are available outside of the visitor center; inside is closed but park rangers are available outside for questions.
Never gets old. Beautiful state park right up against the pacific ocean.
The ONP is a special place, a true gem in Washington State. Roughly the size of Rhode Island, the park holds a wealth of amazing hikes, campgrounds, and vistas. Treat yourself with a trip to this magical playground!Olympic Otter
What else is there to say just absolutely beautiful stunning national park. Get out there and see it as soon as you can. The mountains the meadows the lakes the trails everything is just absolutely gorgeous.
I love all aspects of Olympic National Park and the Forrest. Great hiking, beautiful scenery.
At lake Crescent, three water is some of the coldest, cleanest and deepest blue you can imagine! Living here locally I sometimes forget just how blessed I am to live in such a beautiful place! It doesnt matter which direction you head its incredibly beautiful. I can talk until Im blue in the face but until you actually experience this place for your self.... Well, you are missing the experience of a lifetime.
Some of the most beautiful sights you can find in Gods amazing creation. If you have not been to the amazing Pacific Northwest you need to make a plan to see it.
Beautiful! Hoh rainforest is a must. If your feeling adventurous, hike kloshe nanitch trail. 8 mile round trip, 2200 ft elevation gain.
I get nervous about sharing my review for this park, because I absolutely love the quiet and solace coming here. Its gorgeous and a one of a kind place. If you decide to come-please google hiking etiquette and follow it!!
The beach has unbroken stretches of wilderness ranging from 16 to 32 km. While some beaches are primarily sand, others are covered with heavy rock and very large boulders. Bushy overgrowth, slippery footing, tides and misty rain forest weather all hinder foot travel. The coastal strip is more readily accessible than the interior of the Olympics; due to the difficult terrain, very few backpackers venture beyond casual day-hiking distances. The most popular piece of the coastal strip is the 14 km Ozette Loop. The Park Service runs a registration and reservation program to control usage levels of this area. From the trailhead at Ozette Lake, a 4.8 km leg of the trail is a boardwalk-enhanced path through near primal coastal cedar swamp. Arriving at the ocean, it is a 3-mile walk supplemented by headland trails for high tides. This area has traditionally been favored by the Makah from Neah Bay. The third 3-mile leg is enabled by a boardwalk which has enhanced the loops visitor numbers.
It’s beautiful, Nature and Ocean together is gorgeous. I would go again.
If you can get to Hurricane ridge on a clear day the view is spectacular. Lots of deer and other wildlife. Gorgeous!
There is a reason why this park is in the top five of the most frequented national parks. Wildlife is everywhere you look, the trees are old, and tower over everything. Seeing the mist above the Cascades after waking up from a day of backpacking has got to be one of the most satisfying feelings ever. Cannot wait to explore more of the park.
Spectacular mountains. Crescent lake is incredibly clear. Stayed at Fairholm camp ground. Cheap with geezer pass. No hookups so be ready to boondock.
I liked the trees, clear water and sunsets. Top ten national park.
Just an amazing, beautiful spot on our planet. The rainforests are like entering another planet.
Did a 5 day tour around park. West, North, and East sides Absolutely gorgeous. Park employees doing good job. You could easily take months exploring and never tire of it
Olympic National Park was an experience I’ll never forget. Surrounded by nature in its purest form, and the glistening of the sunshine across the lake is how memories are formed! Whether you’re going with friends to the lake, out on a hike for inspiration, or even going camping Olympic National Park is the place to visit.
A North West favorite. The rain forest is simply magical. Im so glad this is a national park. To protect and cherish!
If you love trees and nature, this is the place to go! We love visiting here when we need to unplug and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
SplendidI highly recommended to visit the beach
Went to the Quinault area... Always a beautiful visit rain or shine... In the summer go farther up towards North Fork or Graves Creek for far less people. Quinault lake is nice to swim in though and has beautiful sweeping views. My reason for only 4 stars is that the national park is allowing Aramark to control the camps grounds now. Last visit camping, the campground at falls Creek was a mess and the garbage was overflowing which is dangerous in that area. So four stars for the national park one star for Aramark.
It was pretty good, I dont usually like hiking but it was nice. Only giving it a 4/5 because there was to much green and I dont like the colour green and I also fell into a river
Countless trails, great views and fun lakes. If youre wanting to get out into nature and explore you wont be disappointed. Spent countless trips out here exploring, we enjoy biking on the Olympic Discovery trail, nice ling flowing mountain biking trails. Also love spending time at Lake Crescent, kayaking is alot of fun out there.
Absolutely beautiful... Rain, sun, snow, it doesnt matter what the weather is this place is worth the trip. I have been here MANY times and it seems to get better each time.
Hurricane ridge is a chance for people with limited mobility to view the high Alpine Meadows of the Olympic mountains. There are several paved trails and an informative visitor center. In late July there was still snow visible in the distance.
Olympic is the best... Incredible view.. HALL OF MOSSES WAS LITTLE disappointing rest everything is a wow.. Check out the weather before you head to hurricane ridge ( sun set is beautiful in hurricane ridge)
The most amazing NP with so many different climates and terrains from alpine, a rainforest, tidal pools and Monoliths. Truly astonishing. Must go to the top of Hurricane Ridge. My favorite was Cape Flattery. If you go there, you must buy a pass and limit of 20 parking spots so go early.
Gorgeous park, and I could walk on the beach without seeing another person. I recommend visiting in mid September to avoid crowds.
I dont really know if I can describe this place in a review. Its just flat out breathtaking everywhere you go. It has endless trails and places to discover. Everything is picturesque and beautiful beyond belief. I wouldnt recommend staying here for fewer than 2 days - youll really miss out on all the natural delight that this great state has to offer.
Absolutely gorgeous! We had a lovely picnic at the Visitor Center with the most amazing view. Nice trails for brief stroll for those unable to hike heavily.
How do you describe one of the most beautiful places in the states? Photos cant even accurately capture the beauty. On our trip we saw elk, bald eagles, deer, birds, a bear, sea lions. We enjoyed the rainy days just as much as the sunny ones too. 10/10 going again!
The variety of scenery from Hurricane Ridge to the Hoh Rainforest is amazing!
This particular park has some wonderful things to see. Giant trees, so much nature, well-maintained trails, and kind rangers. The only reason for the 4 stars is because of the cost. It is $30 per vehicle, or $100 for a year pass. This seems a bit excessive given that they are already funded through taxes and are a very large part of the Department of the Interior. Nonetheless, it is worth visiting if you get the chance.
So many beautiful ecosystems to see. Im lucky I had someone relent to going and spending more time driving on vacation than they wanted, but we agreed it was worth it. Even the drive was beautiful. The air felt and smelled soothing. I want to go back!
A dizzying beauty to experience. One could spend a lifetime here quite happily.
Beautiful. Water is so clean and fresh. Even saw a baby bear cub as we were leaving the gorgeous national park.
As always, stunning! Enjoyed many hikes to spectacular view points. The Visitor Center has a great gift shop, food, and bathrooms, as well as maps and helpful volunteers.
Olympic National Park offers different landscapes all in one national park. Rialto & Ruby beaches have got beautiful sunsets, Hurricane Ridge Visitor center has the snow capped mountains, Quinault & Crescent lakes, Marymere Falls and Hoh Rainforest. It might be cold during the winter months but it is definitely a park worth of visiting!
Amazing. TIP: This is a tempered rainforest. Expect it to rain. That’s what happens in rainforests. If you can time it — sunny moments make this place shine.
An absolutely beautiful park. Truly a treasure of the Pacific Northwest.
National parks are our greatest treasure, and Olympic National Park is a jewel - a stunning collection of forest, ocean, and mountains. Its simultaneously epic and cozy, full of tiny discoveries and larger-than-life experiences.
Beautiful, scenic, gigantic park. Would take days to see everything. I only went up to Hurricane Ridge and it was gorgeous up there. Hiked Klahhane Ridge Trail.
Huge, beautiful, rugged NP for everyone. Mountains, rivers, waterfalls, great hikes, wonderful wildlife. No amenities though so make sure to bring plenty of water and perhaps some food. I think signs and information system should be improved (or established). Great place though. We enjoyed every second.
Olympic National Park is spectacular. It is so diverse with Hurricane Ridge and the snow-capped mountain vistas and then the completely different entrance on the Pacific side into Hoh Rain Forest. See them both if you can, the experience is totally different. The Visitor Centers are well worth stopping for - good staff, friendly and helpful. Olympic NP is not to be missed.
Simply amazing terrain. Earthsky features the Olympic Peninsula a top place for viewing the night sky!
Come experience the real Forrest.Very peaceful.By 4:30pm, it was pitch dark on new years eve.
Beautiful views! We stopped during lunch hour on our way back from the Hoh and were told no one was around to fix my friends a drink. We asked one server if they could help but she said she was too busy. We waited 20 minutes and ended up at Billys in Aberdeen. Great service and we didnt have to wait!
This place has so many things to explore and it is beautiful. The park rangers were very helpful and the trails were well maintained. I would recommend Sol Duc trail as well as Hurricane Ridge for hiking.
It was a great experience to see the beauty of the mountains. There was a feeling of wonder and timelessness. The park rangers and staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. There were all types of trails for everyone, from easy to rugged. Very cool place to go. Takes your mind off of the hectic modern world for a while.
This part of the country is soooo beautiful. It was a great beach with lots of access and easy hike down to the beach. Well maintained and absolutely beautiful l. There’s a couple of great hiking trails and dog friendly as well though they do have to be left on a leash like most parks.
Amazing vistas that we should preserve for everyone
There is nothing better than Washington state in the summer. Hike Mt. Ellinor if you don’t have too much time here.
Very green and lush. Beautiful trees and greenery. Took 5 kids to the Hot Springs ages 2-12 they loved it. Didnt explore or see the waterfall we only had plans on going to the Hot Springs. Bring lots of money its not cheap.
