Love this little park. It has tons of pokestops and a handful of gyms not to mention two play areas for the kids two tennis courts and large grassy area on either side of the play areas. Great for family get togethers or birthday parties since there are several picnic tables throughout the park.
Lovely spot to relax or bring children, the hike isnt very intense but there is NO shade up the mountain.
Wonderful little hidden park in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Great courts, nice playground, and plenty of room to run a dog
Lots of space with grass and two separate playgrounds and its always clean!!
Nice park. Clean. Wonderful view
Need to Zen? Meditate? Pray? Heres your spot. Its big, open, clean and appears very safe. The mountains are close and the views are big and inviting. Surrounded by mostly luxury homes this large and beautifully maintained Phoenix park is easy to get to and truly relaxing. In the early mornings there are countless dog walking people, joggers and coffee drinking solitude seeking folks. The trails are at the parks foot if you want to hike a great big mountain that trails around it providing a 360 degree Phoenix view. This might become your favorite place.
This is my go-to for hiking and getting beautiful views!
Amazing view, little bit of an unnerving drive up, but totally worth the trip!
It is always clean and grass is always green. Lots of workout places and parking for the trails for hiking..
All time favorite park here in Arizona, especially the City. Once it becomes around sunset and if youre on the mountain then youll be able to enjoy the true beauty of the Arizona skyline during a sunset.
First place Ive hiked at since Ive lived in Phoenix and I loved it
This is a cool park and hiking the mountain from 16st is the best approach although there is a trail there that circles the mountain so it doesnt really matter where you start. The bees are attracted to water, it had rained the day before so they were drinking out of a little rock pond. I was lucky to spot a hawk hunting also.
Nice park .. Has good ambience .. Beautiful space .. Nice parking space ... Good tennis court... Really enjoyed the view ...
Great I smoked a grape blunt CBD want home
Good park! The jungle gyms are not intuitive and some of the exercise machines along the sidewalks are dangerous for children to use, but there are wide open spaces that are great for sports as well as model rocketry and remote control toys. There are many routes up to Lookout Mountain. There is a tennis court. The bathrooms may be the worst part.
Excellent city park with great views. A superb place to walk my dog.
Quiet place. Almost devoid of litter and signs of human interaction. Ill be going again soon.
I have had many great experiences there and it is a very fun park. Also, in the spring, you can find many ladybugs in the feild.
Great views of the mountains. Also great playgrounds for the kids.
Great park with lots of space and great variety of terrain and equipment.
If youre thinking about visiting this park, stop thinking and go. Wake someone special up with you and go early in the morning to watch the sunrise you will not be disappointed.Directions:This Hidden Gem is located on the southeast end of Lookout MountainIf youre going to this park from Cave Creek Road turn when you get to Hearn Rd. Going westbound now on Hearn Rd. youll come to 20th Place take a left onto 20th Place you should be heading south bound until N 18th Street turn right and go west again until you see the Park on your right you cannot miss it.Amenities:This park obviously sits at the bottom of Lookout Mountain so much like its neighbor to the North Buffalo Ridge Park, LMp offers quite a bit of light hiking.Along with the Hiking there is a lot of parking, clean and well-kept restrooms, tons of park benches for parties and two different modern playgrounds for the kids.Throw in Volley Ball Pits with nets for the adults, and two tennis courts to add a touch of class and all you need is a Mountain and you have a perfect park.
Spectacular views!! The hike from the parks parking lot was a bit steep when reaching the mid-point of the mountain. But overall, easily top 3 neighborhood hikes in the Valley.
Really nice park. Please people pick up after your dogs.
Great places to hike or just hangout with family n friends.
It is peaceful with wonderful views!
Love this park. Great walking path with workout stations along the way
Beautiful clean trails. ALL WAS WELL MAINTAINED!
Grew across the street. Was there before the park. When it was built it was ahead of its time. The volleyball court had sprinklers on top of the posts. Press a button and your feet wouldnt get third degree burns. Tennis court had blinder nets to help you stay focus on the ball. Trail heads were created. And yet the park blends in well with its environment.
I live right by Lookout Mountain since 1971 its beautiful and glad I live right here so I can hike all the time!
Great hiking and walking trails....miles of them
The photo speaks for itself.
We always like going to this park. Usually not many people so its nice and quiet. Has great toys and grass. And bathrooms are clean.
Very good
Great park with lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play
A really nice, safe, child friendly park.
Absolutely beautiful
Lovely monsoon-ish hike. Beautiful homes as well.
Lookout Mountain park and road was actually in the 1986 movie The Wraith with charlie sheen and that awesome freakin car ....however my point its amazing thirty years later none of it looks anywhere close to what it did in that movie! However im extremely impressed at how AZ does actually take the time to preserve as much natural beauty as they can in their parks and this park is an awesome example of this !
Great park, kids love it. Beautiful scenery! Wish shade was over the swings and younger kids area
Beautiful
Excellent park..lots to do there
Slightly challenging for the inexperienced but it made it very fun! Walking stick definitely helpful.
Beautiful area to sit and eat outside in the morning . Great french toast and pancakes, help is always friendly and good service as well
There was plenty of parking for me even though I came later in the morning. The mountain feels more like an urban hike. You still see the city, and if you want peace and quiet- this is not the place. Its right next to some neighborhood houses which means there were a lot of hikers going up and downhill. Also, like the previous reviewer said before me- yes this trail does get steep. I decided that since what goes up must come down that I would only go to the halfway point and then slowly make my way down. My only other gripe is the trails arent so well marked on this mountain either.I did however, give it an extra star from the 3 stars because it does have a nice playground area that you can do workouts in. It has workout machines where you use your body weight (ex. to do leg presses), and it also has handy dandy pull up bars.
Great place for morning walk.
Used to be a nice park. Now hoodlums and thugs hang out there turning into a ghetto park. Pot smoking teens, drinking, and homeless are finding it. Punks shooting guns out near the mountains is becoming pretty common. PD needs to hang out there more and let their presence be known. Its a shame because there are some really nice houses next to it.
Super gorgeous i didtn take pics sorry
Wonderful park. I enjoy the workout stations around the park.
Great place! Lots of fun and clean equipment with great views.
Nice park. Lots of people. But almost secluded in between houses.
Absolutely gorgeous park. The tennis courts are top notch. The views are beautiful. The playground equipment is the best Ive seen. They also have sand volleyball pits.
Short and steep trail.Excellent workout
Great park for taking your kids. Lots of room to run around and plenty of playground areas.
The view is amazing.
I love this park, they have restrooms, with doors! Some parks do not and I just dont get it. Its always clean and never over-crowded.They have different size playgrounds for kids of different ages. The only thing that does bother me are the high School kids who cant read good...it does say ages 5-12 not 16...
Beautiful view once you get to the top.
It is clean and well maintained. The two tennis courts are generally free for play. Parking is more than adequate and central to all activities.
One of the better quiet parks Ive been to
Great park!!! Yes, this is only 1 of the many great parks that city of Phoenix provides. Nice to see families and their four legged family members too.
Great trail for Phoenix Summit Challenge
One of many hiking mountains in the valley. If you are native to Northern Phoenix and are looking for some outside adventure check out the native plants and species in the preserve. There are hiking trails and a look out point with a beautiful view of the area.
A wonderful neighborhood park. It is tucked away in a neighborhood, so not over utilized. Clean bathrooms and a nice hike available with the trailhead right at the parking lot.
If youre going to play a sport in the open fields there, I would not go there, only because there are lots of nats. Also other than that amazing experience.
A small, yet fun neighborhood park for kids. I also has lots of hiking and biking trails. I grew up in the surrounding neighborhood and always loved going.
Nice safe place to hike
Path all the way around the mountain
It was pretty tough some spots where you are using some hands to navigate the rocks.
We love this mountain. ...Its so peaceful and nice. ... there is lots of pet owners walking or playing with there pets, specially dogs. ...There is a lot of metal exercise equipment around the park. ... tennis court also. ... and two play ground for the kids. ... a nice walking path. ...
Home of the Moonshiners Meeting. Monday nights at 7:30
Great hikes. Lots of trails.
Nice place for little walk!)
This park has a large grassy area to play and separate playgrounds for 5 and under, but they are separated by bushes, so if you have chi ldren with an age gap you cant watch them at the same time. This park also has a lot of sidewalk area, good for scooters.
A great hiking mountain in the middle of Phoenix. Never too busy and a parking lot on the north side off 16th St.
My kids love this park! Its pretty close to my house.
Awesome view z great for a Late Night Date.
Nice park but needs more shade. Great kHiking area and dog friendly.
Not well marked. Did not have fun on this set of trails. Could not wait to get done, but had no choice but to endure till it was over.......
Lots of friendly people good place for the kids and pets
We love this park it has great mountain views, great walking trails and decent playground equipment for the kidos
Nice park and picnic area. I did not hike but you can. Nice
Live in the neighborhood and love the park, neighbors, wildlife, mountain, etc.
It was just me and the baby and all kinds of dogs she loves! We had fun !
Good views
Great little park my little girl just has so much fun there.
This is not a mountain lookout,it is a park named lookout mountain! We drove up thinking we were going up the mountain. Instead we drove into a park?
Wish there was more shade. Everyone is always friendly.
Beautiful sun set and lighted city
Great little park for family and plenty of space for children to run around. Very well maintained and beautiful area.
