Puzzle effect was so much fun! Its something that is fun for a date night or would be fun for a family. It definitely gets your mind going. I cant wait to go back!

The staff was super friendly to start off. I wish I had asked the lady her name but she was so courteous and helpful. This was our first puzzle room and it blew our minds! My girlfriend planned this as a date and although it was an hour long event it is something we will remember for a long time. They have 4 different puzzle rooms and I guarantee by the end of the year we will have done at least 3 if not all 4. Awesome experience!!

The Curse of the Emerald Seas is the room we played and it didnt disappoint. The puzzle line was well thought out and most puzzles made clear sence once you got on track. Stuck to the theme and inspired that immersive experience. My 7 and 10 year olds loved it because they helped figure out a lot of it with my wife and I. Thanks for the good time.

We did the Grimstacks room and it was so much fun! Great puzzles and challenges. The game master let us try to figure it out instead of just throwing us the clue. And we solved it! We had a ton of fun! Will definitely be back!!

We did a run of seven escape rooms while visiting my sister, two at this location. The Path was our favorite of the seven, The Emerald Bay was also fantastic. We were very impressed with the set design, puzzles, and staff - all great. Really hoping for more rooms because they have earned our business. Also, theyre the only place Ive been to that does the pictures in the actual rooms - something I appreciate.

My wife and I have done the Grim Stacks room and the Path, and loved them both. :) the facility is super clean and well put together during these COVID times which I appreciate. Grim stacks was more of a traditional riddle and lock type of room and the clues were linear. The Path was more difficult and you definitely needed to work your brain to “unlock” the clues (though there aren’t really traditional locks to open). Love the detail in these games and will be back to do more.

Our group of 6 had THE MOST FUN in the Grimm Stacks room! Taylor Ogburn was an amazing host and made our evening so fun! We solved the puzzle with 1min 14 secs to go. We will definitely be back!! Cant wait to check out the Gilbert location. Thank you Taylor!!

Love the style and flow of these games.I have tried a few companies and I think this is one of my favorites for two reasons: (1) the games are mostly linear, so you can’t accidentally skip ahead or miss something important. (2) the puzzles are challenging and interesting (in other words, it’s not just about stumbling around to find locks. You have to solve things and think outside the box). Also, the themes are so well designed and it’s really immersive.I also really appreciate how they have adapted to the pandemic by allowing you to schedule your party privately (instead of putting you in the room with strangers).Overall love the experience and will definitely be back again!

Extremely helpful staff during the puzzles and they dont hold your hand during the entire time but help you when you need it most.

Amazing!! My friend and I weren’t able to finish before the hour was up and the staff was super nice and they let us finish up the puzzles with his help!! Greatly recommend! I really loved how they never actually locked the door of the puzzle room we were solving! So I could leave at any time if need be. I was also able to take my personal items into the room with me️

It was so clean and honestly the most challenging one I’ve ever done, and I love a challenge. Also the staff was the absolute best and so accommodating. Love this place we can not wait to go do it again. & would most definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

I did the power plant based puzzle and really enjoyed it. Without getting into too many details, the puzzles were very interesting and progressed logically so I always could track how to get from one place to the next. I had a great time and Ill probably go there the next time Im in Phoenix.

Completed the path. Well thought out, lots of fun, and a great theme. I especially liked that this was a puzzle room without traditional locks. I initially thought that would be hokey; but turns out it was a fun change. Would have given five stars but there was a mechanical issue with our room that almost kept us from finishing. The game master intervened quickly when he realized there was an issue.

I attended as part of a team building event with co-workers. Lots of fun solving the puzzle and the before and after getting insight into our personalities. Will definitely return with different people for the puzzle portion.

Online Amnesia game was challenging and well put together. Had a blast!!!! Worth the money.

We completed the cursed room on a whim and absolutely loved it. We were a group of 3 adults and 1 child under 10. The room was very well themed, had great puzzles and best of all we made it out just in time. Highly recommend Puzzle Effect!

Th hardest puzzles were 1) finding the place, and 2) choosing which sign to hold for the picture when we escaped!The room was very thoughtful and interesting to work through. You definitely spend the entire hour trying to solve all of the puzzles.All of the rooms are private (your own group only-no strangers) and that is one of the main reasons we chose this place. It is just more satisfying working together with the people you know to find a solution.We did the Grim Stacks room for our first visit. I think it a perfect room for people who have never done escape rooms before (like us). I would definitely go back to do another room, most likely the path. We escape with 13 seconds left to spare, even though the very nice staff gave us an extra 3 minutes at the end :)

We finished up our fourth and final room at this location today. Everyone we worked with was very friendly and great game masters! The puzzles were a lot of fun and I think the Path was my favorite. We had a blast and definitely recommend this place for everyone looking for a great escape room experience in Phoenix!

We had so much fun in Curse of the Emerald Seas! Grimstacks is still my personal favorite though. Very friendly employees, super clean and high tech rooms! Best escape room weve been to!

Was a fun experience. Never did an escape room before. Was very happy our 30 something kids were there to help us parents out!!

We had a great time solving the mystery and it was a cool way to spend time for a birthday celebration. The puzzle was hard but workable (with a few clues) and we unleashed the dragon with a few minutes to spare. Everyone wanted to stay and try another one!

One of the best places weve ever been for escape rooms. Theyre so nice and the rooms are fun. They have an amazing guided clue system based on your progress, give you enough description on the room but not too much, and are willing to talk with you about your experiences.

Wonderful rooms, great service from the host. We did the book store one with a 13 year old first timer. Very harry potterish. Loved it and only lost by about a min. Super fun. Well be back.

I went in to complete a room with a friend and this place was a very nice experience ! Great staff!! a nice lady named Chris up front came in and helped us when we got stuck here and there. The clues she would give out were both helpful and funny because she threw some good humored comments in it as well ! A BIG thank you goes out to Chris!

My group of family and friends have done a few escape rooms across the valley. This was by far the worst experience we ever had.The game master gave us a run down of how all the locks worked, let us know that there were lamps inside because it was going to be pretty dark. We requested not to get any clues or hints unless we asked specifically for them. The game master agreed and lead us in. She said the timer would start as soon as she shut the door. She walked out, she the door, and nothing happened. The sound effect were still playing so we decided to go ahead and start even though our timer hadn’t started moving. We called out about it but nothing changed so we just went along. About 10 minutes in we yelled out that we needed out first hint. Nothing happened. We yelled quiet a few times for a hint and that the timer wasn’t working. She had also said if we were on the right track we wouldn’t get a hint so we figured we must be doing something right. At exactly 46 minutes the timer started. After yelling again that we were stuck and needed help we finally got our first clue at 30 minutes.We did not complete the room. When the timer ran out a different game master came in to walk us through the other stuff that we missed and told us we were 7 minutes away from finishing. We told her our frustration with the not getting clues and the timer not working, to which she told us she came in 30 minutes in and was told not to give us any clues.We left and discussed everything as a group. We decided to go in an ask for even a partial refund. We paid full price for 6 people. And all the would offer us was four gift cards to come back for another room.We are very unhappy with how this turned out and will not be back. Do not recommend to anyone.

Our party of four did two rooms on our visit. Weve done quite a few rooms in various cities and The Puzzle Effect is among the most fun and well constructed.The staff went out of their way to accommodate us; the set up stories were well presented and they even took our photo with our own phone as well as their camera, when we broke records on both rooms that we did. (The other business we visited that day wanted $5 for the photo.)Definitely recommend.

We have done several rooms around Phoenix and this was by far the worst experience we have ever had. I am not normally a complainer, but this was just too much. From the moment we stepped into the room, everything went wrong. Our clock never started to count down, we started anyways. We had told the puzzle master that we only wanted clues if we asked for them but were also told that if we were going in the right direction, we wouldnt receive a clue.So when we screamed and yelled for 15 minutes for them to fix the clock and asking for clues, we thought maybe we were on the right path. They fixed our clock at 46 minutes left and then asked us if we wanted a clue. 5-10 minutes later we finally got said clue and it was something we had already figured out. Every clue we finally got, except for 1 were things we already figured out. We did not make it out of the room.When a different girl came in to let us out, she asked if we wanted to see how the rest of the room plays out. we said yes. She showed us and then told us we were about 7 minutes away from solving it. 7 minutes. We wasted that much time asking for clues in the first place. she then asked us if we liked the room, and we told her what happened. She told us she was told that we didnt want clues at all. We left the room and went outside and talked. We were all pretty upset and the experience and it left a bad taste in our mouths.I am fine at admitting I failed, but we didnt fail this one. It was the lack of attention from the staff that caused us to fail. I went inside to complain and talked to a woman who said she was the manager. I explained what happened, and she tried to blame everyone but her and her staff. She tried to say we didnt want clues, when we said we only wanted them if we asked. I asked for my money back and was told that they couldnt do that because we went through the room, but she can refund us the money and put it on 4 gift cards. I told her I would take the hit to my card, because we are never coming back.Like I said earlier, I am perfectly fine admitting when I failed, but it was the staff that failed, not us. If you want to have a good experience with an escape room DO NOT come here. You will be sadly disappointed.

Took our 14 and 10 yr old and it was absolutely fantastic. Such a fun time.

Our group went weeknight and were running behind getting started. They were patient with us all getting to them and made us feel comfortable once we did make it. We had a great time together, two rooms competing against each other. Just wish we could have not run out of time so we could have finished it. I would recommend going at least once to an escape room near you, and this was a good one.

Our group did 3 games back-to-back at the Puzzle Effect. All three were very well done. We really enjoyed it. My personal favorite was the Curse of the Emerald Seas.

Cool room and puzzles, but too easy. Staff kept giving unsolicited clues despite us asking them to stop twice. We felt like staff were just trying to rush us through the room ASAP (25mins) so they wouldn’t have to work anymore.

I had a fantastic time! It was a great place & would definately go again!

We were a group of three players and we played the Farewell Escape Room. We found it both challenging and fun and would definitely recommend! We are a military family and they offered a discount, which is always nice. Also, the staff was extremely helpful, informative and friendly! It was very professional and a great time was had by all! My first time here was excellent! I wouldve solved it but ran out of time by 3-4 minutes. I shouldve used my time more efficiently. Puzzle was perfect though for amount of time given. Price was good for me and my date. Will try the other rooms they offer and use my time wisely.

Totally enjoyed the whole experience. The staff was great, answered every question we had and even brought me a chair to sit on while in the room (I have trouble standing for more than a few minutes at a time) and had the forethought to ask if I needed one with or without arms for ease of getting up and d own. I definitely recommend this location.

We took 21 people here for a team building event during our quarterly sales meeting. We did three rooms and it was absolutely fabulous!!!! It was a great team building event and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. We will come back!!!!

Our group had a great time. Everything seemed really organized.

The rooms are managed and supervised poorly. The guide system is supposed to guide you, but the screen was broken and the manager did not know. One of the clues was WRONG where the result did not match the lock box - the digits were wrong. No interest on part of staff to identify the error or take ownership of it. Best of luck in the blue pipe room.

This place gets perfect scores down the line! From the moment we arrived, the staffs service was stellar, the atmosphere of the room was so unique and well crafted, and the puzzles themselves were fun, challenging, and rewarding. We will be back!

We went with our two 10 yr old kids and had a great time! The staff was nice and helpful, clues were good, and we escaped with 5 minutes to spare! We did the Farewell room and it was good even for just the 4 of us!

We have done several rooms around Phoenix and Puzzle Effect was the worst experience weve ever had. We asked to get clues only when we request them, because we like to challenge ourselves. The game master that did our intro agreed and said that they wouldnt give them if we were close to figuring out a puzzle. When they shut the doors we all stood there and waited for our time to begin. After a few minutes of the clock not moving we gave up and just started. We spent somewhere around 15 minutes (not sure exactly how long since the clock wasnt working) asking for clues and telling them that the clock wasnt working. Finally at 46 minutes the clock kicked on. We spent another 15 minutes asking for clues and going down the wrong path because we were told that we wouldnt get clues if we were close. Around the 30 minute mark a message popped up asking if we wanted a clue. After that we finally received a little bit of help. When our time was up (and we obviously didnt Escape) a new game master came in and told us that we were about 7 minutes from escaping. We told her our frustration with the clues and she told us that she was told that we didnt want clues at all, but that she had only started watching us at the 30 minute mark. I dont know if we were being ignored up to that point or if no one was watching us at all, but this was super frustrating. After that we headed out extremely upset at the experience. Since we had paid so much money we talked to the girl who said she was the manager and asked if we could get our money back or something. She was not apologetic at all and kept trying to blame us for requesting clues instead of being guided. She said that since we completed the room, the best that she could do was a refund on a gift card for four people (we paid full price for six). Her bad attitude and unprofessionalism pushed us over the edge and we refused since we WILL NOT be returning. We have no problem admitting when we dont get out on our own merits, but this one was definitely not on us.

Never did one of these before! It’s awesome and well worth it. Do the pirate one! It’s very hard but X marks the spot!
