This is a really nice local trail with a nice parking lot in a very nice area of town. The restrooms in the water bottle filling station at the trailhead were fantastic. The hike took us about two and a half hours and is about four and a quarter miles when you factor in the hike you have to take to get to the trail. Theres some uphill or some downhill its not too bad but it is very hot when the sun is beaming. There were a few times when the wind was whipping but for the most part it was pretty dry and hot. bring plenty of water and make sure you follow the well mark trail signs or you could easily end up on a different trail.

Second cleanest park bathrooms Ive ever seen! (The first was in Death Valley) The trails are well kept and provide excellent views of the North Phoenix valley. You can hike 10+ miles if youd like, or just go out for a 1-5 mile hike. Plenty of parking, but best to go around sunrise to guarantee a place during the cooler months.

Easily paced with great view. Great for beginners, highly trafficked but the hike is quite nice and can be as long as you want it. Great for mountain biking and trail running.

One of the best local hikes on the north side of Phoenix. A lot of variety in the different trails. Comes with some great views. Be prepared for some moderate+ hills and dont forget to have plenty of water and good shoes.

Fantastic local hike (if youre in the north Valley).Views are superb, and there are a number of challenging trail options. Can get crowded when the weather is great, around mid-morning, but not too bad.

This multi use trail never gets old! Clean bathrooms and water fountain at the parking lot entrance. The changes in weather makes this trail somewhat of a surprise with each hike. Highly recommend taking a sunrise bike.

Very clean area. Drove a few mins out of the city and arrived in a much less noisy, except for the occasional small plane, hilly area with easy hiking. Pretty busy area. People coming for a fast hike then speeding back to the city, I presume. There was a tiny ASU ecology class here identifying plants and trees. Crisp, February morning makes for a perfect hike.

Very beautiful hike. It takes me about 2-3 hours to complete. I would rate it an intermediate beginner hike due to the distance and because of some bit of uphill there. Nothing too scary though or technical- just gentle ups and downs. If you go early enough- closer to 7-8 am, you can see the hot air balloons taking off into the skies. (I think they only do this though when its cooler weather and dont think they do it during the summer. (?))

Desert Vista is an easy trail, good for walks or bikes. Pretty views. A good trail for beginners. The trails do loop around and intersect multiple times. Keep a map, or just watch the hill tops to keep your bearing. You must bring in your own water.

Desert Vista Trailhead is my favorite area in the Valley for the trails, the views, and the relative sense of privacy, you feel, as it seems nobody knows about this little gem in North Phoenix.

This is one of my favorite hikes - the loop is about 4 miles and it is overall a very easy hike - though there can be a few challenges that might rise to the classification of moderate if you climb on of the spur trails to the top of one of two mountains. Well worth the time. Some wildlife spotting opportunities mostly birds hawks and there is an amazing horned owl nest on the hike to the loop.

Truly a hidden gem. Most of the trails have a out of town feel to them. You wont see any buildings or hear any traffic most of the time.
