This is a pretty challenging hiking, but a great workout! You will be climbing a lot of large rocks most of the time so be prepared for that, the climb down can be rough as well, as it is easy to slip if you are not carefully when climbing back down. Amazing view of Phoenix when you get to the top!
Hike is steep with rugged rock. Make sure to put your hiking shoes on!Great views from the top!
Camelback is such a great hike. Its easy at parts and presents itself to be more difficult at others. My wife and are new to the hiking scene and this trail by far has to be my favorite. It switches from trails, to stairs, to climbing, and back again. The view from the summit as absolutely amazing and thus hike definitely gives you a complete body workout. You have a couple of pokestops and gyms that you can play on. Bathrooms at the beginning of the trail and a nice amount of people hike it on the regular. Its not to many that its crowded, and not to little that you should worry that know will notice if you get hurt. Hike it and enjoy.
The Echo Hike (Extreme Difficultly rated) was one of the most incredible hikes I’ve done, and the view was astounding! I’d highly recommend this hike. It was quite challenging, it took me about an hour and a half with short breaks to get to the time. About an hour to hike down it. I’d recommend starting the hike in the morning. I brought 50 oz of water and it was more than plenty. Wearing long breathable pants is recommended.
Great workout! Dont park on the street. You will get a ticket. Learned that the hard way. Lol.
Great challenging hike. Just wish the parking lot was bigger.
Beautiful views and nice trail. Medium difficulty.
Beautiful hike with multiple trails. The parking lot is a bit small. It might be prudent to car pool during hinpeak hiking season and on weekend.
Very good workout, great views, just not my kinda hike coming from an old trail runner. Very bouldery, lots of climbing. This is not a hike for the average day hiker. I love the steep elevation for great cardio and if youre into mountain climbing, you cant get any better than this echo canyon trail. Bring plenty of water, sun screen and gloves if you have sensitive hands. Stay on the trail, they have signs posted of people that have fallen to their death. Be safe and enjoy!
Ranger will ticket cars in the parking lot after sunset (actual time vary)
BRILLIANT Hike! Echo trail is a fantastic workout full of fun varying terrain forcing excellent cardio. Beautiful views of the city
Awesome views and extremely tough hike...be careful if you’re taking kids under 10. Go in morning
Stunning views, nice climb and worth every minute of it.
Great hike. Stunning views.
Amazing hike! Can’t wait to go again!
My absolute favorite trail
Easy to get to. Beautiful
I was definatley winded but the view at the top is unmatched!
I loved this trail. The intensity was unexpectedly high, perfect length and provided a variety of challenges throughout. It was well manicured, clean, marked clearly and easily accessible from major roads with a nice parking area. Restroom facilities were adequate with a water fountain. Ill be back.
This place is very challenging for beginners but is totally worth the view, I recommend this place for anyone and definitely bring water here. It has a bit of everything When it comes to it as a friend as climbing, running, walking and those hugest steps you take and its pretty steep. So try it out the best time to go is before sunrise thats when it has the least amount of people to but enough to ask for help when needed.
One of my favorite hikes in Phoenix
Sweet hike that will reward you with 360 degree view of Scottsdale. A must do for any outdoor lover. Try getting to the top without using your hands. Make for a fun challenge.
Tons of fun..
Great hike with lots of rocky areas to meander around. Supporting shoes are a must as rocks can be jagged. Parts of the hike have guard rails for safety as it can be steep and slippery. Well worth the trip. We went on Sunday and it was extremely crowded, so a week day might be your best bet for a more isolated experience.
Very busy hard to find parking
A little crowded, but a great short and rigorous hike with hugely varied terrain that makes you use all your limbs. The payoff is a spectacular 360 degree view of greater Phoenix. Not for novice hikers.
Best hike
Intense!
Great trail. We were from out of town and wanted to check it out. We had an amazing time. Santa was at the top handing out candy canes
Tough hike, go early early if its summer, this is no joke, bring water. Great workout thought and view, recommend.
Was here almost 10 years ago.. My favorite spot on earth is atop camelback mt trail... Im heading back here in 2 weeks cant wait!!!!
Its a great cardio workout if you have a steady brisk pace up. Dont push too fast going down. Thats when you can enjoy the view. Cholla takes me about 30 mins up from trailhead.
Great views
Nice
Wow
Intense hike, just wish it was longer.
Best hike ever
Was a hard climb not for everyone but if you can make it it is all worth it
