I thought that the museum was wonderful. I am always impressed with the amazing exhibits. They had additional exhibit going on for additional fee. The only two things I wish were different is I dont care to wear headset requirement I live the sound of the music and culture and everything is supposed nicely. The other is there are no discounts and if you have a family of four it is 100 plus if you include all the exhibits that is a lot especially during covid-19. But otherwise it was great.

Give yourself at least two hours here, and more if you can. Thousands of instruments takes a while to get through. The best part of this museum is that they give you a headset as part of the fee, and as you walk through, you see video and hear audio of the instruments you’re looking at being played. It is the coolest way to learn. You can see and hear everything and it’s wonderful. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I visited the MIM for the first time recently and we were blown away. The rich history and interactive opportunities were endless. We spent hours looking through the exhibits and had lunch in the little cafe, it was delicious. I highly recommend visiting early in the day to get the most out of your visit. Our favorite was the room with instruments from around the world. You get to hear music from each locations history and see how its evolved with the times.

One of the best museums I have ever visited in the US! Overwhelming in scope, size, and quality of their meticulously curated musical instruments. The presentation of their collection is optimally presented through use of high quality localized transmitters at each station you can listen to with a great headphone and portable receiver combo you are provided. A lot of effort has gone into providing visitors an exceptional representation of authentic instruments from around the world.

Ok I have to admit I wasnt expecting much, I mean a few weird drums maybe? I was totally blown away. It is so interesting that every culture had the ability to make music using almost nothing. Grouped by country each room is full of interesting instruments. From the simple to the extremely complex. You also get headphones and a box that plays music based on the section you are viewing. Just amazing. This place is huge so make sure you give yourself the time to see everything. Start with what interests you the most so you dont waste time and end up missing your favorites.

Many beautiful guitars. The main museum is divided into several world regions and also genre. It is done superbly. You walk through the museum like an indoor mall. Moving from room to room viewing a vast collection of countless instruments. Some appear 100% original while others are expertly crafted replicas. Some are clearly original and very old. They offer wheelchairs for free which was a relief as we did not need to bring my moms wheelchair. It was a treat for all of us as we all love and have played various instruments.Headphones are provided and offer audio that changes from display to display. This museum is amazing. The amount of media available to show you what the instruments sound like is nearly overwhelming. Each station plays multiple videos showing the instruments in use. Each person gets a personal listening device to watch these videos. All you have to do is walk up to a station and your device picks it up and starts playing it.
