The majority of the members of this center are members of an HOA which requires property owners to pay a fee for membership as part of their HOA fees (whether they use the center or not.) ARC also offers non-HOA members a yearly membership on a voluntary basis similar to joining a gym. This years social member fees were $633. The center shut down in mid-March due to COVID. I am a social member and requested that my fees during these unused months be returned. My request was declined because the board felt that it would upset the HOA members -- despite the fact that their fees are tied to their contractual property agreement and not voluntary. The board, despite a letter from their attorney expressing his concern that the position they have taken could result in seriously financial consequences chose to ignore my request despite their own attorneys concerns. I would encourage anyone not to consider joining this facility. They obviously do not care what is in the best interest of the facility OR its members.
Joined as a social member in June because i live outside their membership boundary. I joined specifically because of the water exercise classes & yoga. Its hard to find a place with good water programs but they have them here 6 day/week. Only downside is the shallow depth of the inside pool but its only for the colder months. Both pools are heated. Theres a very large heated jacuzzi/whirlpool. Yoga classes are for all experience levels. Weight room looks ok, but I havent used the equipment yet.
Im very disappointed at the very restrictive use of the amenities. I probably wont renew my membership.
Only visited the place to inquire as to the cost. Seemed affordable but not ready to. Join yet.
Great clean place. Friendly people
ARC is a blessing...lots of activities, pools, exercise equipment, classes..Interesting to read the reviews from others... many have the ARC on Cheyenne and the club on 48th reversed.
Live in the neighborhood. We enjoy the amenities.
Well maintained facility with a lot of Social Events! The wood workshop was well equipped! Best kept secret for 45 years! You dont have to be a homeowner to have a membership. You have to be 55 years old to join!
Well maintained, clean and beautiful. The landscaping and mature trees are inviting. The ARC has something for everyoneGreat pool and pickleball courts.Friendly helpful people.
Love this golf course ! Great breakfast and very reasonable prices on food, beer and Golf! We played in less than 4 hours and never felt rushed. Love the smells of Mexican food when you come out of the tunnel under 48th Street. I would recommend this place to anyone
Extremely disrespectful to members of ARC that look like they want them to.
People are nice, but greens are long (on a Saturday?) Play was slow and the drinking water was empty on the back nine. Not a good combo!
Nice and cool area with a pool but not meant for children.
The ARC is an adult/seniors facility serving the surrounding senior community. Its gift shop is Ahwatukees best kept secret, with plentiful craft items of high quality, and open to the public. The main hall is available for rent by anyone for events.I am a member, so take advantage of the paint studio, woodshop, lapidary workspace, glass studio, and pottery workroom. There are lots of activities to attend, as well as a gym, indoor and outdoor pools, and a brand new pickle ball court. Keeps me busy!
I have been member since 2006 and enjoy the Recreation center so much. Two pools, events, gift shop, exercise classes & workout equipment. Staff are so helpful & friendly.
Great place!
What a place to meet current friends and make new ones. The staff and facilities at ARC bring a genuine caring to the ARC. With so many today looking for a safeplace to mingle and grow you will enjoy ARC and the wonderful team AMY has assembled. What an oasis of fellowship in our Ahwatukee neighborhood.Thomas and Lori Steele
