Had a party of 7 go there for our first time, have not had that much fun in a long time. All the staff was great including all of their humor and personalities. All of us greatly appreciated the setting and customer service. Great fun and great staff.

What a great time. Steve, our Axepert was awesome! He was very helpful and patient. I was worried we wouldnt get a lot of time to actually throw but was pleasantly surprised. We had a quick intro session and immediately got to throwing. The place is clean and well run. I cant wait to get back with a group of people!

LOCKED OUT, LATE STAFF! We scheduled a time, paid online, showed up 25 mins early (e-mail asked to be 15 mins early). When we arrived it was locked up with nobody around. I called and was told that my “axpert” was on the way. 25 mins later, still locked out with nobody in sight. I called 2 more times and just got an answering machine. Called a third time a few minutes after when our actual paid start time was and a rude man answered with just “Hello!. I said we were still locked out and he said the “axpert” was there and the doors had been unlocked. I had just tried them a minute before... they were still locked. My wife and I were over the excuses and lies by then... I asked for a refund and he refused and said it was against company policy. I insisted since we met our obligations and they had not. He then HUNG UP ON ME!! I will be disputing these credit card charges and leaving TERRIBLE REVIEWS on all social media. Worst Customer Service Ever. STAY AWAY from this place. Paid $60, showed up early, stayed till our time slot and still have never thrown an Axe....

Love this place. Its so much fun, they let us stay till after closing and made it like we were friends already. Ask for Axe reed she made things way easier and just plain fun!

We had an appointment booked on the 19th of this month. 30 minutes before our appointment, Splitting Timber in Phoenix suddenly decided that they could no longer afford that location and relocated. They texted us saying they were cancelling our appointment that we PAID for and they will be closed until further notice.No option to reschedule or refund us. No mention of what we can do with our PAID and cancelled appointment. We still went to the location because they refused to answer their phone minutes after texting us from the same number. The doors were locked and no one was there. How can they cancel an appointment scheduled days ahead to cancel us 30 minutes prior? They knew they weren’t there.They also continue to ghost us and when they do respond, they refuse to offer us a refund. They are still booking for November, so they’re still actively taking people’s money without being fully relocated.This business is shady, scammy, and unethical.All we want is a refund.

We happened to stumble on this company online and decided on a day outing trying something new to try to impress and spend time with our teenage son. I always have trouble finding something our family can do together that my teenager doesnt completely hate the entire time. Splitting Timber passed the test! We had a great time with great staff! Even the toughest critic cant wait to go back! Our axepert was N.W.A. he was full of energy and knowledge and made our experience fun, and competitive. It was our first time throwing axes and I would recommend this place to everyone!! Even considering joining a league with my son after one visit! A must try!!Dont forget to tip :)

My best friend and I decided to give this a try and we had an awesome time! Our instructor was Axe-Rated and she was absolutely fantastic and really helped us improve throughout the lesson. Well definitely be back!

Axe-Rated was awesome, she let us play our playlist over the speaker since we were the only ones there. She was also really good at instructing us and was always nice and patient, which was great because I kept messing up, lol. She showed me different techniques until I found one that I was comfortable with and that worked for me. The experience overall was great, a great stress reliever and you dont need any prior experience. Id definitely recommend this place.

DO NOT SCHEDULE AN EVENT HERE ONLINE. They have CLOSED with no warning!I called and spoke to someone who told me to go online to schedule our event so I did. I pre-paid for 8 people to throw axes then we had 2 more that wanted to join so I tried to call the location. After trying to call for over a week, I ended up stopping by the location the morning of our scheduled event. I showed up to find out that everything in the building is gone. They moved out last week. To top if off, we received an email from them confirming our appointment THIS morning! Obviously they are running a scam at this point. Otherwise we wouldve been notified by the owner or at least been provided with a refund. I tried reaching out to the Tucson location but, I was told they are separate owners. When I tried to warn them that this could tarnish their name, they BLOCKED me on social media! LOL You just cant make this up. Buyer Beware.

If you are bored with Covid-19 and staying at home, go check out Splitting Timber. Its a big facility and when arriving around 7-9pm there was only one person there. Lots of fun, lots of puns, and no guns. ITS AXE THROWING! NWA (Our instructor) was very knowledgeable and could get anyone to hit the target! Winner of the games gets a prize, bragging rights, and maybe gets to hit some trick shots...

Went for a surprise for my husbands birthday. Our instructors name was Trickshot and he was awesome! Fun and safe with some comedy. My kind of place!!! Cant wait to go back. Found our new date night spot.

We went the first time with few expectations and those few were quickly blown out of the water. With each recurring visit and experience with a different axe-pert we leave not being able to wait until our next trip. I cant sing the praises of this sport and of Splitting Timber loud enough! 5/5

Had a great time throwing Axes. Lots of instruction and assistance in learning how to stand, aim and throw. We spent the 90 minutes playing different games. I will definitely be back and recommend this place to others for a really fun alternative outing.

My friend bought my husband a gift card to this place a while back. The gift card expires 6 months after issue which she was not told upon purchasing it in person. We went in today to see if they would accept it or perhaps give us a discount or make any concession for us and they were just very cold and unwilling to do anything to make us jolted consumers feel better. Not impressed with their customer service at all. Nick, the manager, clearly did not care about our business.Follow up to above review :Wow to your rude response! That is not even accurate. We came in one time not six times. We were not rude. . As my friend told you, she did not buy the gift card online she bought it in person. I’m so confused as to why you are saying we were told six times. That is a total lie. Our friend bought us gift card, like most people that receive gift cards, you put it away after you get it and use it later. We were not expecting it to expire. If you took the time to read my other reviews, you would clearly see that I am not the type of person that would extort anyone and that is again a very rude thing to say to a potential customer. Perhaps, you should take a kinder tone to potential customers . We sincerely wanted to be your customers but this is how you’re treating us. Unbelievable. This was an unexpected marvelous activity for all ages. Safety was their number 1 priority!! Very well organized and the instruction/practice time was not rushed. Im 59 years old with back problems and even I got a bullseye. It will make a great holiday or celebration gift!!

We had our daughters 19th birthday there, had an amazing time! We all have never thrown axes before so our guide helped out and made things fun. Our person helping out was “Trick Shot”, ask for him amazing dude! What a great way to blow off some steam, have fun, with a little competition!

It was a kick-axe time! Great concept and so much fun. Getting the axe to stick was harder than I thought. You spend a good amount of time practicing and then you end with a game. You have an axe-pert the entire time to ensure everyone in your party stays safe. The time went by so fast. I wish we had more axe throwing time.

So much fun! if you are thinking about this, book it! Ask for trickshot- hes not only only terrific about helping you be successful at axe throwing, but starts you off laughing and keeps you having fun all the time!

My group of 5 had the amazing experience of working with NWA (Doug?). Im sure you have already guessed...yes it stands for Nice With Axes. He is a very vibrant guy who kept us entertained the whole time. I wasnt sure initially how it would go because we had a smaller group and the larger groups were quite loud in their enjoyment. I thought that our smaller size would hinder our experience but it really didnt and I attribute that to NWA. The only reason I gave it a 4 star has nothing to do with NWA but rather that we had to wait over 30 minutes after our appointment to even really be greeted (except for check in). They did say that it was because a larger party went longer but we saw some employees leave and plenty of open boards. But enough with the only negative part of the evening. We started out by choosing some crazy axe related nick names for our name tags then had the necessary safety talk and then got to it. They engage you in games and competitions to get you to really break loose. I had a great time and I will definitely go again. We got a pro tip at the end: if you ask for the same instructor as last time then you are able to spend less time refreshing on the safety and more time at the sport (as long as they remember you too).

Had an amazing time at Splitting Timber. I will definitely be returning to this location. Our Axe-pert was N.W.A (Doug). He was helpful, funny and overall brought great energy to the experience. He watches form and is very helpful. I would say due to the experience he provided, I am definitely interested in joining the league not this season but next.

Axe-Rated was a great instructor, she was kind and friendly. had an amazing time there. its defiantly funner then you would think it would be. I will be returning here with my Wife and friends. Might even buy my own Axe.I highly recommend this place.

My Husband and I visited “Splitting Timber” for the first time yesterday. We had an amazing experience! The atmosphere was laid back and inviting and very cool! When you first get there you meet with an axe-pert and learn how to throw the axe the right way. Technique is taught and I had a hard time catching on at first but was given tips and training to improve! We played games and laughed a lot! It was such a fun experience and we will definitely come back soon!

We had a fantastic time! Facility was nicely laid out, clean, and well kept. Staff was friendly and informative. Made sure we had a good time and we were safe. Rotated through games and different throwing styles. Will return - it’s nice to have a West Side axe throwing place to attend with friends and family.

When I first went there I was skeptical, but after #Axe Rated & #TheHatchet have me a lesson I was hooked, I ended up joining the Sunday Leagues and I love it. Ive brought my family and they love it. I went to Home Depot and spent $400 and built me to side by side targets.

DOUG IS AMAZING!!!! My husband and I were there this last weekend for a birthday party of 6 people total and not only was it a fabulous time but our axpert Doug was absolutely amazing. Loved the jokes and good vibes, over all a great experience here.

Ive been throwing in WATL leagues for 5 seasons now and Ive visited a handful of places when travelling for work. Splitting Timber is one of the best venues Ive been too. Great vibe, lots of lanes without feeling cramped, and Nick is one of the best coaches Ive ever met. He managed to point a couple things out with my throw that needed to be improved. He can definitely get a new thrower sticking axes in no time and even help a more seasoned thrower improve as well. Truly a top notch facility!

We were there last night with a group of ten. Really cool place and I was surprised how much fun it was. Mason (The mad-axer) was awesome and helped to hype everyone up. This was a solid event to do with friends and will definitely do it again.

We were in for a birthday party last night, and had a blast! Stephen was extremely helpful, and very knowledgeable about throwing axes. He made the whole experience safe and fun. I was struggling mastering my throwing technique and Stephen patiently helped me through different throwing options. We all had a blast and I am excited to go back!

Splitting timbers phx was a great time! Our axe instructor,“ Chill-axe” was entertaining, knows what he’s doing, and makes sure you have fun your entire time there! Great place for two or 20 people to go have fun! Recommended for sure!

I brought my son here for a birthday surprise, and we had more fun together than wed had in .... well, forever! Our axepert was N.W.A. --he was incredibly funny, kind, encouraging, and knowledgeable. He taught us the basics, drilled us on form and technique, and then put us into some games. He continued to watch our form and offer hacks and suggestions to polish up technique. We really couldnt have asked for a better teacher and if we lived closer wed probably be in weekly. Thank you for an ax-cellent time and for helping us learn something new!

It was a new experience!! People were great. I thought the price was very steep 32.50 per person for ninety mins. Let me add that there were 7 of us throwing at 32.50 each. Top golf at there primetime is 55 an hour for upto 6 people. You rent a stall and upto 6 people are included in that 55 per hour. Plus tip for the axe expert. I did say it was great fun, but the price is steep compared to comparable event.

So FUN!!! The AXEpert Stephen / AXEslapper was great. Our party of 11 were all sticking it with his great punny instruction. Looking forward to next time! This would be great for corporate team building.
