The grounds are beautiful and open to the public, our tree service has been maintaining the trees for over 10 years now and really feel a part of the old swedes family.
I grew up 2 blocks away here. Nice friendly dog owners, real grass field. So far I have not met one snobby person as I have at other parks. Can get muddy in some spots. Bring your own water and toys. I was quite enthusiastic when I saw a dog and cat friendly sign on the gate allowing people to let thier dogs run around and play on the very huge coupe of acre field ground next to the cemetary. The care takers of this historic sight live on the premises and are very nice. Remember to keep your dog/s from running in the grave yard although sometimes a dog may get curious and check out the grave yard and is ultimately unavoidable, the care takers do not get upset as long as you actively keep your dog in the field and remove them from the graveyard when you see them headed there. Also, so far all of the dog owners I have met were super friendly and nice people. I highly reccomend.
A beautiful historic Chuch and grounds.
Remarkable old church in Queens village. Just a short stroll to the east.
A historic church and cemetery that, once you pass through the gates, transports you into a serene, contemplative environment that lets your mind escape the triviality of the moment and contemplate eternity. I visited it for the first time just last week, despite having passed by many times. Its welcoming. Photography is encouraged, just dont take any rubbings of the graves.
Saw a Sofar here. What a wonderful venue for music. The acoustics were amazing. Beautiful church and grounds.
Historic church in the heart of Philadelphia that still has a thriving and welcoming community. Its worth a stop and a respectful look around if youve never had the opportunity.
