This is a nice small/medium sized park, there are a few hiking / bicycling trails but its nothing like the Belmont Plateau. Half of the land isnt maintained, the other half is well groomed; with most of the area surrounded by trees. There are paved roads but theyre narrow to drive on and theres plenty of parking space for people. This park also seems to have a space for gardening in the center but Im not entirely sure about that, I suggest you look into that of your interested. On the far end theres a Radio Controlled Aircraft club with some pretty cool planes both new and old, flying around; some are wicked fast performing head spinning stunts... others fly their planes slow and gentle. Most of the people in this group are seasoned hobbiest with a light dusting of younger members. The rc plane group is called, North East Philadelphia Radio Control Club (or NEPRCC for short). They have a website and a Facebook page but it doesnt seem to be too active, in terms of social media.Id still come back to this park to see the planes fly if nothing else!

First and forwmost this isnt a bad park, it just wasnt what I expected it to be thats all. I go for trail jogs through different parks and this trail was small and loopy. I was basically going in circles and that was not enjoyable for me.

This is one of those Blah parks. The park is boring. Its just open fields, a community garden, airplane club and some walking and biking paths. There is no shade and hardly anyone here. If you want activity, head to the next closest state parks. Tyler and Delaware Canal State Parks are great for biking and jogging. They rock!!

Beautiful and large space. More so for walking, jogging, hiking, etc. Never too crowded. There are multiple parking areas as well. The bathrooms are super clean and environmentally friendly. There is a really cool remote control airplane field in the back where professionals fly them and you can watch. Easy to access. However, for those with kids, I do not think theres any type of playground. And Im not 100% on this but I do believe theres a community garden.

When I first came to walk here I thought there wasnt much to look at but as I continued to come back I noticed I would see lots of deers, butterflies, groundhogs, ladybugs, caterpillars, hawks, etc also if you come at sunset you will get a gorgeous view. Very peaceful place to walk and relieve some stress. You will see lots of butterflies in the summer and spring.

Je
Review №40

Watch out for the ranger...lately theyre as hard as nails ticketing pedestrians, gardeners and whomever for being there at sunset which is posted on one sign somewhere....never used to be like this as my dad and a bunch others got ticketed with a whole row of cars leaving the park without notice, my rating just went way down because of this nonsense. Its great if youre doing the community garden, though deer is a big problem in that they eat everything without fencing. There are bathrooms! Not much at the park for kids except for a lot of natural space as far as you can see, yet in the city. There is a long trail that is good for bike riding though!

Quiet, off the beaten track park. Not much to do here, except walk or jog, but its good to visit ti enjoy a nice quiet walk. Lots of wildlife to see. Sometimes I feel unsafe here alone because its very desolate and the creepy people from the neighboring motel venture into the park, so I recommend females not come here alone.

I love hiking at Benjamin Rush State Park its not overly crowded like Runyon and at the end of your hike you can walk inside the observatory or sit on the grass and enjoy the view. They have plenty of parking and restroom in the bottom or you can use the restroom inside the observatory. The views are insane and its so pretty when the sun is setting and you see all the lights.

This is one of my favorite parks. The people that go here are usually nice, good quality... meaning, I never see bums or junkies & no rowdy people (young or old) there. Hope it stays this pleasant & clean. Theres an asphalt path throughout the majority of the trails, with the exception of a few spots where theres gravel. Great place to take bikes & ride around.Theres a community garden section that can be rented out in parcels for $25. a growing season/yr. .. which is approximately March through Oct or Nov. The parcels are fenced off but easily accessible with many entrances. I believe theres even plumbing for hose hook ups to water plants when needed, but you have to bring your own hose.In the far corner of the park, they have toy plane or drone flying area, also fenced off and with its own parking. That can be enjoyable for young children to watch. This is definitely one of my favorite parks in my area.
