A little trashed unfortunately; but excellent, easy 3 mile hike. Saw a number of ATVs and hiking path was well marked
Nice walking trail. Be careful they allow motorcycles on the trail. The paths have shade from all the trees.
The views were worth our drive from Mesa. The trail is wide and is obviously used by ATVs quite often. Its a short hike, maybe 1.7 miles. We thought it would be longer but maybe we took a shortcut by accident. We didnt see anyone on the trail. It was very quiet, which was nice! My husband found a place to bushwack up to the top of a rock formation and we were able to see a beautiful view of the valley.
Drove nearly 2 hours to go hiking here only for the entire forest to be closed, yet online the trail says its open.
Its so beautiful there. And so quiet. It was a super nice walk around. I cant wait to go back and do somemore exploring.
The trail is well maintained and makes for a nice walk, with enough roughness here and there to make it interesting. Many huge boulders give the trail a very nice visual appeal. And there are side trails to add interest. The road leading to the trailhead, granite dells road, is in poor shape in some areas so drive carefully.
The drive is easy to get to the trailhead, but the trailhead from the parking area is kind of hard to find. Hint: its slightly to your left (10 o clock) but once you find the trail makers, the whole 4.5 mile loop is super easy to follow, and the trail is super magical. The whole trail is well maintained and well marked, except in one part where water had eroded the sand. The trail is still easy to follow though, and the eroded part looks like a scene straight out of a fairytale, in fact I was expecting little fairies to come out of their homes by the flowing creek to say hello. Most of the walk is through a beautiful forest, and at one point about halfway through, it comes out beside a picturesque ranch and then back into the woods. There is a lot of other side trails (seemed like a lot of atvs and other motor-things followed those). There is a really great view from the trailhead, huge red rock mountains. We finished our hike around sunset and the rock was just glowing a fiery red. Anyways, great hike thats really easy and long enough to daydream or converse with a hiking partner. Very dog friendly as well.
Its a nice, quiet trail, but not a lot of scenery.
Trail is good for families. Smaller kids can navigate 99% of it without assistance. Spotted a big elk in the middle of the day. Most of the trail has shade but the first mile (going counter clockwise) has very little shade.
Great view.
Rain and hail fueled hike.
This I a great little trail! It was easy enough for the kids yet still gave them a workout. It sits right between Payson and Star Valley, in fact, its souronded on 3 sides with houses and a golf course but it still felt like the forest to the kids.
Awesome place
Its an easy trail. I dont think we will hike it again. It is shared with motorbikes and off road cars, not very pleasant to walk in their dust and loud noices. The senery isnt special, just a few large rocks and fallen trees.
Nice trail but im sure Payson has better ones with water
Was not able to get to the trailhead! I would have given it a zero if I could. There is a lake in the road and no parking on the street
My favorite trail to run. Just a little over 3 miles, even up and down grades with plenty of shade for the hot summer days.
Fun trail, not as secluded since you can see houses from some spots on the tail but we did see 2 elk really close!
Easy and enjoyable trail perfect for a walk or just to get away. Nice views and on an average walk shouldnt take longer than an hour and a half.
Can not get in, drove down dirt road to a gate that was closed
Great 3.5 mile loop
Beautiful easy trail perfect for a moderately out of shape grad student.
Secluded, non busy loop with lots of trail offshoots. Used for hiking, horseback riding, ATVs, and mountain biking.
Wild place.
Amazing will definitely come back
Good place to hike
Great hike
Wide paths, lots of ATVs
