I went to a quilt show. Great venue for quilters to meet and display their skills.
An absolute have to see! memorial park is a great place for pictures. And a park for your kids
One of the most recognized buildings in Payson is the Peteetneet Academy, a Romanesque elementary school erected in 1901, and one of the first schools in Utah outside of Salt Lake City. When it was abandoned by the school district in 1988, citizens rallied to restore the landmark to productive use within the community.Today the facility is used as a cultural arts center and local history museum, and is a gateway interpretive center for the Mount Nebo Scenic Byway. Highlights include a historic schoolroom, blacksmith shop, complete Victorian home, and lessons in horse care in a cowboy room. A walking tour of Old Fort Payson, Old Fort Peteetneet, and Historic Payson features the school and other local landmarks.
Calm & quaint. Interesting historical architecture. Different interest highlight about once a month. Lovely rolling grass hills. Very friendly staff. Nice flower gardens about the property. The building has been well maintained & is kept clean.
Lovely museum and cultural center. They also have an elevator now.
Went for a good friends wedding reception. Beautifully taken care of historic building. Very small for a reception and upstairs gets warm really quick with no AC but the park outside is beautiful and the historic items were interesting to browse.
Great art show of John Hawkers painting going on right now.
I have always had an amazing experience going to Peteetneet. Christmas lights, sledding, seeing musicals, touring the museum, lots of great memories from my childhood.
5/5 for the great sledding hill it’s on. I know nothing about the building but fond memories have been made here.
Great place for concerts
This place is packed full of cool stuff. It’s completely run by volunteers and operates solely on donations, so clearly they are doing their best. Anyone who has anything bad to say about this place can suck an egg. Just go check it out with an open mind and a smile on your face.
A true treasure that is hidden and this beautiful little town. Make sure to see the cowboy room downstairs. Incredible bits of History
Wow such a complete museum about the history of Payson. We had a great personal guided tour and learned a lot.
Great local museum!
Peteetneet is a wonderful gem in our community. The building is gorgeous, the grounds are lovely, the volunteers are friendly. Peteetneet is a great representation of Payson, its been here forever, but it offers new and beautiful things for visitors every day.
Great model train display for Chistmas!
Great historical building, I did not get to see the inside but the outside was awesome.
I just took my kids here and we all loved it. My boys were especially fond of the cowboy room where they have extensive history of Paysons incredible cowboy history. Plus, there are tons of awesome events. We will be back!
Wonderful place of history; beautiful building. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a guide who have me such a informative your. I will be back again. Thank you
We went to a conference and the space was sufficient. It was cool there was a kitchen attached.
Old quaint building. Fun programs and activities several times a year.
The staff was super nice and provided a personal tour. I must say it was one of my favorite experiences. That day was special to me.
The staff made the mistake of assuming that young children could not find history interesting. One lady took it upon herself to lecture me repeatedly about how children dont belong in museums. This is despite the fact that my children were well behaved, listened and were attentive whenever this guide bothered speaking to them and showing them artifacts. They came away talking about what they had seen and learned from those few occasions. However, she kept saying come back when youre older and museums arent for kids at least ten times. Ironically, as we were leaving she called my attention to the KIDDIE POOL holding toy rubber ducks (worth 50 cents) and tried to get me to pay $5 per duck to give to my kids to support the museum. There is plenty of value to learn in this museum. Even for kids. But if the staff is unwilling to make an effort to appeal to younger generations (other than to gouge their parents) then Im not going to spend any money to try to save a lost cause.
My mother went to school here; wben I saw this building I fill in Love it and that was before I saw the inside. How beautiful it is; I am so greatful it is still standing today.
I have only been to one event that happened in one room. It was great to be able to go to the event. Glad they allow events to happen in certain rooms.
I attend classes that are held here and love the building. Ive also been here for a wedding and it was perfact.
Fun to see the history of Payson. Such an old school!
Have a lot of fun and varied actives
Great histories and volunteers!
Lots of history in this building, just recently actually there was a new article posted about this building! Great read!
A beautiful place with a lot of history
Great musuem with a variety of things to look at. They switch out 2 room exhibits about every three months. The other rooms are standard and have older fashion, western things, the development of writing and the telephone, and a room of war memorabilia. Our guide was very friendly and we enjoyed the tour. The building is cooled by a swamp cooler but the exhibit rooms dont get that cool air so it was a little toasty.
This is a wonderful place to see memorabilia from the past. The hostess took us around and explained things. A wonderful personal experience.
I love this building and the grounds! Its a beautiful piece of local history!Sledding here in the winter is great for small kids!
Its wonderful to visit!
Affordable event space. Beautiful building. Hands off staff.

Very interesting. great tour guide. much history regarding Payson area
Fun local museum
Peteetneet is pretty neat.
It was more interesting than I thought it would be, but the tour guides follow you everywhere you go and its not a very private experience
My step mom had a stand at the Boutique that was healed there and she paid for her spot and the costomers where too busy looking at the museum instead of the product. They should have closed the museum part of the building while the boutique was taking place
Great place with wonderful people who know everything about Payson history! Loved it,!
Fun little piece of history.
We do a craft show here every year during the holidays a d its always fun to wander thru the rooms and see all the history.
