Cute little park in the middle of town! I guess the name fits. Took my dog around for a couple of laps and she enjoyed it as well. Croquet and lawn bowling fields? Must investigate next time.

Yummy, pretty open park space. They have lawn bowling, which hardly ever gets put to use as I recall. Big, tall trees for shade, and really quiet to walk around in the a.m. and late p.m. How is Pasadena doing nowadays? It was becoming more rich and uppity in the last several years, I know, but its been awhile for me. I called Pasadena home in the 80s and 90s growing up. It was, then, a regular and nice L.A. County suburb.Back to Central..lots of grass, a path that circles, and a playground for kids. The restroom gets a little unruly sometimes, but not because they dont clean it..just the nature of the beast of these parts. Theres a strange building on the south side, also. Its a house like structure. Last but not least would be the scattered concrete picnic tables and frequent weekly gatherings that feed the community. They even used to throw church on Sunday here! Its a medium to fairly large park that we all love to pass by on the way to wherever Pasadena/L.A. takes us..right off the lite-rail at Del Mar Sta.

Beautiful little park with plenty of space to have almost any activity of any sort. Loads of parking everywhere, with a few covered garages that are fairly cheap nearby as well. All around, its very accessible. The only downside is, as many have commented, its a hotspot for homeless. It seems that the Pas. PD do try and manage it, but it still remains very active. They typically leave you alone, however, so long as you dont bother them, so Id still give it 4 stars.

I grew up down the street fro this park. I absolutely love this park. On any given day, you will find people walking their furry companions, motherswith the kids playing on the merry go round. Located across the street to the metro Gold Line. It truly is a great place to sit and be surrounded by all the trees and its people.

A great park with excellent positioning, cool play structure for kids, lots of space for picnics and playing. Im not really sure what the Pasadena lawn bowling club is, but its located at the park and seems interesting, but doesnt take up too much space. The constant homeless people are a slight inconvenience for those with children.

Playground is great. By the goodwill, salvation army which have free parking if you shop there. Little market a block up for snacks & beverage. Plenty of places to eat or get coffee within walking distance. Alot of homeless people in the park, but its a big park so its not too bad. Across the street from the goldline station if you feel up to an outing. Public parking is paid and usually available.

Central park is a nice green space, but what I like best about it is the lawn bowling green. The park is home to the Pasadena Lawn bowling club. The folks there are friendly and enthusiastic about others learning the sport. They offer free lessons & have everything you need to learn & play.

Review №42

Nice park with a lot of playground equipment and some great mature trees in the downtown Pasadena. Nice restaurants are close by (across the street). Metro station is right there. Negatives: transients baking in the sun with inconspicuous fumes emanating from them and one of the slides for children seemed to be too steep for preschoolers. But there is enough of other slides, swings, etc. to enjoy.

Central Park is fabulous. It is right across the street from the train station. Grass spans the park from end to end with the exception of the awesome childrens playground. Picnic tables in choice areas with trees everywhere. The restrooms are well kept. Variety of events depending on the time and day and season. Lawn bowling in a fenced court area. All of this on the edge of gorgeous historic downtown Pasadena, California.

Jackalope Arts has been going strong in Pasadena for a while now and I finally made a point to check it out! This is an outdoor craft-y type fair right in Old Town--Id say its worth checking out if youre into trendy handmade wares (more kitschy stuff, less fine art) or wanted to spend some time exploring the rest of the area. Old Town is super walkable and family/foodie friendly (and also my stomping ground, HMU for recs)!Jackalope is free (yay!) but parking in the area can be pretty terrible. Im a personal fan of the Passport parking app since most Pasadena meters still require coins--you can also find a fair amount of inexpensive lots in the area. I personally found the selection of vendors at Jackalope just okay, but I wasnt really shopping for anything which may have had something to do with it. There were a few food trucks and a kid are with live music, both of which I thought were a nice touch. Restrooms are mostly limited to port-a-potties which is obviously not ideal, but another reason to go support some other businesses in the area!

Beautiful park, but I found the people who were packing up after breakfast very rude.If you dont want to help those in need then why are you involved with an organization like church in the park.Definitely didnt feel my presence was appreciated and I dropped the burrito. And didnt eat.Seriously though, why bring all the food out and set up the tables at all if in the end you make the people you claim to want to help feel its necessary to write about the experience like this on Google?Enjoy your football game.

A wonderful park that has been the center of Pasadena for decades. Once upon a time it was dangerous and unsightly but now a days its a lovely place to take your family, go for a picnic, exercise, play some outdoor games, anything really. I will say that its not the most advisable place to go to after it closes though.
