Beautiful little visitor center building. Nice folks inside. The trail is an easy out and back. Youll break a sweat a little bit going one way, but its not going to kill anyone. Fun hike and cool views of the valley. When we went the waterfall was dry but it was still good.

What a pleasure dinner was here. Delicious food and interesting variety, we had crepes, mango stuffed with chicken salad and short rib. Everything was severed hot (where appropriate), was top notch quality. Looking forward to returning!

Amazing place, not too hard for the kids. The waterfall in the end is still working and there is still a small lake that can be good for swimming.Take a lot of water as the weather is really horrible. You can start 7 am and finish by 9 am, this is the best time to go there.

Great place to go on a hike. The amazing thing is getting to the waterfall. Even in August the water is still running. Kinda scary because so many people are there not wearing masks at the waterfall, but really good about wearing them on the path. Easy to get to the waterfall. Bring plenty of water and get into the water.

We were not allowed to take pictures for reasons unexplained to us. There were no signs stating such that we saw, just aggressive guards telling us to put our cameras away. Taking pictures of part of the modern experience. If you dont want pictures taken, you should post it high and wide, not get angry with people taking them. It was a beautiful place to be, except for the ire we accidentally raised by taking pictures.

This is an incredibly beautiful area. We went on the hike with a guide. He was very informative and it’s a great way to learn about the history and the wildlife around you. The hike itself is a lot of uphill. Big steps and rocks on the trail. On the way down the big steps are hard on the knees and ankles. It’s all around good for most ages. Saw some really young kids and some older people on the trail.

Good place to go once or very occasionally. Gift shop is dark and boring. The prices were excellent if I did wanna buy anything. Parking was relatively easy. The trail was tight so it was hard to pass or get through. The staff was nice. A ranger at the waterfall made it safe. Thanks see you again.

We unfortunately faced discrimination. We brought an umbrella because we want to be shielded from UV on the trail, but upon entry an employee told us we could not bring it in. We asked if that rule was anywhere in writing because, the rules on their website don’t say anything about umbrellas. She said that they could do whatever they want and we are not allowed in. She then let three people with umbrellas directly behind us on the trail! I traveled all the way from Florida to experience the natural beauty of this place and I won’t be able to do that now. This was a very traumatizing experience. The lady was older with fair skin tone, and my boyfriend and I are an interracial couple.Btw their written rules are as follows:SafetyHike with a friend. Also, tell another friend where you will be hiking and when you expect to return.Stay within your capabilities. For hikes 2 miles and longer, bring extra water, food and supplies.Know your trail. Use a map and a compass when hiking in back country. You must carry water. Hydrate your body the night before. No alcohol; alcohol speeds up dehydration. Carry as much drinking water as you can. Rule of thumb: you will need at least one quart of water for every hour of hiking. Drinking when you are thirsty is too late. When half of your water is gone, turn around and head back.Protect yourself from the sun. Dress in layers. Wear loose clothing; long-sleeve shirt, long pants, wide brim hat, sunglasses, and sturdy shoes. Use sunblock and lip balm.Assume all snakes are dangerous. Pay attention when to where you step and where you place your hands. Let the snake go its way. Do not harm or handle snakes.Keep children near you and stay on the trail.Know the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.Pace yourself.Items that may come in handy: flashlight, GPS/cell phone, whistle, poncho, pocket knife, first aid kit.RulesNo fires. No smoking. No alcoholic beverages. No bicycles or motorized vehicles on trails. No animals. No rock climbing. No firearms, explosives or fireworks. No loud music or noise.Do not disturb or deface natural or cultural objects; do not remove any objects.Obey posted speed limits.Hike on designated trail only.Park in designated areas only.No dronesIt is unacceptable to treat people this way and I will not support it.

A waterfall in Palm Springs?! This hike is perfect for hikers of any age and ability as its much more of a beautiful nature walk than a strenuous hike. Ending at the waterfall is so rewarding and worth the 12$ entrance fee, but I was disappointed in the short length of the hike.Things to know:Cost is $12.50 for adults, there is a designated parking lot, swimming is allowed, cars parked in the lost past 5pm will be towed.

I wasnt overly impressed with tahquitz canyon. The cost was $12 to get in and the waterfall view wasnt that spectacular. Ive seen much better waterfalls that were free. There was barely any parking because the place is so busy and we had to wait for a spot to open. The trail had a decent amount of people on it obviously which seemed a little bit strange because there wasnt that much to see. The canyon itself is pretty cool and we did see a ram.

Firstly, Palm Springs is very bike friendly, especially around the downtown. This location very off the downtown and offers spectacular views. The visiting center is well maintained and is very informative. The waterfall is seasonal. $12.50 per adult might not be worth it the waterfall is dry. Instead home the South lykken trail. Its about 4 to 4.5 miles with 1100ft elevation gain. Carry water and there are absolutely no restrooms in the trail path.

The hike to Tahquitz Falls is a beautiful walk up the canyon. Be sure to bring the map guide to enjoy the marked features along the way. The volume of the water at the falls is dependent upon recent rains... so expect more after replenishing weather. Unfortunately the fee the tribe charges to visit has been increasing, but this a pleasant diversion for a nature walk right downtown Palm Springs. The trail is not too strenuous and a great adventure for kids of ages.

This is a great, quick, small hike, especially for children. This past spring the waterfall was amazing. I had no idea something so close to downtown Palm Springs would have this kind of waterfall. The maps, with explanations of the Native American markings and plant life on the trails was quite good. My only complaint was the price. It was quite costly for two adults and four children.
