Make sure visit to the museum however make your way to the lampposts and take a super hipster picture and post on Instagram! The lampposts are a lot prettier at night because there all lit up.
The historic walking tours are very informative. If you like history you should take one i had walked by or been buildingd downtown and had no idea of the history they held.
A gem of a museum and wonderful organization dedicated to preserving the early history, mid century art and architecture, and current preservation projects with educational and interesting tours, audio visual, printed, live exhibits and knowledgeable staff. About to do a complete redo for the next season starting in October. Dont miss this wonderful addition to Palm Springs.
Great little museum with good perspectives on local Hollywood oriented & Native American history.
There are two adjacent, small historic buildings: the McCallum Adobe and the Cornelia White House. The Cornelia White House is closed for renovation through 2019 so we saw only the McCallum building. The exhibits are small but very professionally designed to be colorful, fun and interesting. Topics range from Native Americans through early pioneer days to the heady resort mecca of the 1930s and beyond. The big exhibit when we visited was the history of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in Palm Springs with many objects contributed by their daughter, Lucy Arnaz. There was no fee to enter the museum but contributions are appreciated. All in all, a nice, refreshing break from the relentless retail along South Palm Canyon Drive.
Great little museum
You can get informed about Palm Springs, find maps here and what not, they have a documentary playing in there as well.
Excellent displays and very helpful staff
The downtown tour started an hour late as we had to wait for a bus of tourists to arrive. It was good and explained how the city evolved from a homestead to the city. But lots of questions we all asked went unanswered, the docents just did not know. Same with the house tour. Interesting place, but lots of unanswered questions. There is a 1930s store, which they do not open during the normal museum hours.
Lots of fun, very nostalgic.
Simple but worth checking out
Nice people and cool walking tour.
Great tour guide
Singe was awesome.
