Interesting place to stop by and take a look. The owner supposedly will give tours if you call ahead but we didnt get a chance to work that out in the time we had.
Local giant robots with lights created by a local house owner for display. It’s gated and can barely see all of them when you drive by. Nothing special in my honest opinion.
Just incredible...loved the whole show and so cool to have such a different way to see Xmas Lights. So much detail in all the amazing displays. Really sad that I understand it has to relocate and will possibly no longer operate after this year. Its iconic and a rare and wonderful asset to Palm Springs and an experience not to be missed. Thank you from a Kiwi from NZ
Very nice park and display of robots made of metal. The facility is small and parking may be difficult during busy times and time of year.
Open by appointment only. The city has been trying to stop the usual yearly display since 2019 and seems to be succeeding. Don’t try to go without an appointment unless you just want to look in from outside.
Definitely something that needs to be seen to be appreciated.
This is for the lover of lights with a deep appreciation for the weird and unusual. As I walked through the displays, I was continually struck by the artists imagination and ingenuity for turning random junk into artistic expression. Whether you believe true art is found in a gallery or a carefully arranged garden, Mr. Irwin, certainly created a garden display like no other I have ever seen. Certainly, worth a visit but go before 8:00 unless you like waiting in a long line.
Its best at Christmas. Here are some after Christmas. Update: got to go inside to see the display during Christmas. Now I love robots and assemblage style art so this was right for me. Its a testimony to repurposing on a scale that really is hard to convey.
The art was amazing! It was creepy, Cool, crazy, fun, loud and just outstanding art work! I would go there again! Although I do not think its a good place for kids. At least not tonight there were so many people there it was so hard trying to navigate my baby in the stroller around. Seems like I was bumping into someone every 3 seconds. I will admit that it was all worth it but next time I will higher a baby sitter and leave the kids home.
It’s a world of pure imagination without the chocolate. Kenny Irwin Jr. has been creating this space since he was 12. You could spend hours inside and keep discovering things. It can be a little intimidating for kids even though the art is very rooted in childhood imagery. My 7 year old was getting a bit freaked out. She made it through our visit, but just a heads up.You have to text Kenny to set up an appointment, but once you are in you can just explore the space. It’s free to enter. You can make a donation if you like or buy some of his art at the end of your visit. He’s got some amazing pieces for you to remember your time at Robolights.
The place is very unusual. Creative, but sometime scary looking art.
Unable to get inside and no lightings allowed due to Citys restrictions
I guess its kind of a love it or hate it place. Its impressive enough. Ill give it that. Its quite amazing what has been done with basic junk from the scrap heap. You can identify old vacuum cleaners, laser printers, anything and everything is there, made into sculptures of all sizes. And smaller displays too. It seems endless. Im glad I went but I think once is plenty.
If you are in Palm Springs, you need to check this out! Its such an odd Christmas setup and design! Definitely a bit fun, a bit silly and a bit creepy! Wonderful for a silly date or just to be fascinated by one mans creations!
Cool but looks kind of abandoned at the moment. And you can only check it out from the perimeter of the property.
Good experience for the adults and gown kids who are at least older than 10 years. Kids who are from 2 years to 6-8 might get scared of some statues and decorations. So parents be ware. overall it was really fun. And it’s free. Great lights.
Unbelievable, a must see. Extremely creative.
Such a cool place! Such neat & reusable art installations!
Really very creative. Great experience
Super fun drive-by to look at the amazing work.
Surreal art decorated with 9M Christmas lights. A must visit
This is an amazing maze of assemblage art in a Christmas Robot Funhouse theme. Well worth falling into the Rabbit Robot Hole. Why not?
We had no idea what to expect at Robolights, but wow, what an interesting experience! The property is huge, the lights are plentiful, and the sights... well, the sights are something else. There are multiple paths that snake around the grounds, giant sculptures everywhere, music, lights, and more. Its festive, spooky, fun, and bizarre.Definitely worth at least one visit, in my opinion. You wont see anything else like this!
This place is amazing! We visited during the day, outside of the holidays when the lights are not on but it is still just incredible. We easily spent almost two hours exploring the many fascinating sculptures assembled from found objects assembled at this place. A truly memorable experience.
Unique experience! We came from SLC, it to Palm Springs to visit. We found robolights as an activity to do while we were there. It’s very creative and best to see at dusk or dark.
This place is surreal and awesome. Its a light display and reclaimed junk art installation all in one. No required fee, but donate what you like to support local bizarre art.
Different.... amusing... Really cool..
Very cool! You can see a lot from the outside. We just did a quick stop by on our way to Disneyland!
Google map says its open but it was actually not open. We drove by there last week.
This place is awesome for children and adults. But each time Ive been there it hasnt been opened
Cant explain.. Have to see to believe.. Definitely not the typical holiday lights!
Very unique experience. Worth the trip. The kids enjoyed it too.
I highly recommend this incredible place. Unique in its maximum expression.
A fun place to go see, if youre in Palm Springs for Christmas, great place to take your kids safe and fun.
Intersesting use of odds and ends to produce a spectacular seasonal light show. Really glad we went!
Super weird but really fun. Truly like nothing youve seen before.
No way to describe how awesome it was in such a unique way
Amazing art installation of a junkyard transformed into a magical Christmas wonderland. Fantastic recycling of junk into treasure
Simply amazing. You will never visit anything like it and its only open for public display for a short time during the holidays. If youre anywhere near Palm Springs, put this on your must see list. You wont be disappointed!
Interesting place to visit. Check before you go as the Robolights may no longer be operating... Artist may give access for private self-guided tours, but call ahead.
Amazingly unbelievable Stuff to see and ponder.Antiques, contemporary arts, found arts, Robots, dinosaurs, Santa Clause with his flying cart, bat mobile and much much more.Always love to go there with my kids and friends. Its a very mind blowing and notoriously unbelievable Stuff out there which represents the artists mind at large.
Not what I expected but definitely a lot of hard work and creativity went into this creation!
A gem in Palm Springs. Kenny is a unique artist and his work here is a must see.
Had so much fun. Love the art. Would enjoy talking to the artist.
Coolest Christmas light display ever!!!
They were interesting creations. Maybe too creepy for children but very elaborate. Also there were points where it smelt really bad.
You have to absolutely see this place its amazing
My kids was scared they said it was creppy. It has a smell about it. Wasnt for us
A very out there Christmas display but worth a visit.
Great place to go gor the holidays
No idea about this. But the guy who made it have spent a lot of time. And maybe for kids its fun to see. For me, it was just junk yes fragmented here and there was something of interest but overall just not for me!
A really unique charm nestled away in a great neighbourhood. Its where the macabre is made festive, the weird is made extravagant, & the odd is made marvelous... Its a shame the neighbours put up such a fuss about the got traffic that happens only one month out of the year that it must move. I hope they find a permanent new home sooner than later & it somehow is even more spectacular, if thats even possible.
Very interesting and strange art display. I enjoyed it. Worth the 2 hour drive from Orange County
Wish I could have been here to see this obviously amazing and imaginative mans creations over the holidays and before its being deconstructed -- from what Ive heard. Glad I got to see it from outside the gates on this beautiful Palm Springs day. Good luck!
Surreal display of found objects assembled into robots and other whimsical objects. Theres an incredible amount of things on display, and an even greater number of lights everywhere. The theme is vaguely Christmas. Its worth the time to visit, and theres no end to photo ops.
It is on the weird side of lights. They put together some junk together. The music is also very weird.
Kenny Irwin has outdone himself this year with his quirky version of Christmas.
A twisted installation by a local Palm Springs artist. Alien meets Santa with grotesque figured sculptures surrounding the colored lights on the walking paths.
Place looks cool, but was closed when we arrived. Will try make a visit next time.
Robolights is a Tim Burton Christmas fever dream. I rather wonder what little kid will come away from this post-apocalyptic Disneyland and build something even more bizarre
It was amazing also I saw you on tv you were the most creative and u should of won
Strange and wonderful at the same time. Yet I feel so sorry for the Neighbors. Just doesnt seem right to invite the universe to ones home when that home is located in a residential area. I get expression through ART, however the right of the many outweigh the right of the one. If the owner is as wealthy as I hear he is, hopefully he will move this unmatched Art Exhibit where it wont impact his neighbors.
Amazing place I took my mother from LA, my sister from Ventura Chico my little Schnauzer had a great time !Looking forward to the opening of the new location !!!
Creative genius! Display was amazing - have never seen anything remotely like it. Definitely unique. Not just another Christmas light show by any stretch of the imagination. Some parts may be disturbing if you have small children with you
ROBOLIGHTS certainly is not abandoned ! I have enjoyed this display as I drive by every day and stop to admire Kennys work all these years. Each and every time finding exciting things in his existing art work that I didnt catch before! The art is not neglected and actively maintained.
Unique! pretty cool. lots to see
Amazing its a must see
Pretty bananas. I guess this is what happens when you have unlimited time and resources to throw at a hobby.
Prepare to be awestruck by this bizarre and eclectic art installation! Its unlike anything youve seen. Youll wander down and around paths, never knowing what youll see next. Its like East Jesus Art on Christmas steroids. Dont make this artist move! Robolights is magical!
Weird but good! Words can scarcely do justice to this four acre lot stuffed with sculpture created from found objects and discarded white goods. Gussied up for Christmas, it makes an amazing spectacle. 2018 is the last year it will be on this lot, as I gather it is moving to a commercial plot going forward.
Beautifully macabre and both alluring and disturbing. This is sensory overload in the best way. Years of work have crafted this one-of-a-kind experience into the twisted masterpiece it is today. Parental discretion is advised as many of the themes evoked are decidedly not for kids.
Pure nightmare fuel. Would do again under the right circumstances
Fabulous lights and robots. This is a super funky cool place so get ready for the outrageous. Youll love it. Go at night and especially during the holidays. Parking may be a challenge, but not bad.
The whole exhibit was amazing!!!!
Its odd, unsettling, and amazing. Love it, hate it...you have to experience Robolights once to know which side youre on.
You should go this year before it relocatesMy wife brought me here after a Joshua Tree visit. Really great art show! It is basically salvage art where sculptures are made from old computers, electronics and everything in between. Very bizarre in a good way! I heard they are relocating from Palm Springs or possibly shutting down after this year (2018) so you will want to see it before then!Go at night for best experience!Parking is at a park down the street and was not too difficult.
Really awesome weird art. I will definitely be returning. we saw a lot of people with young kids there. Im not exactly sure I would bring my children to this, because there is definitely some twisted art but that is the whole place of art.
The coolest nightmare I have ever seen. Pictures dont do it justice. Has to be experienced.
Seriously loved this sculpture maze of wacky and wonderful robot creations
Was quite sometime to see.... would like to go back in the day time so we could see more.....worth your time to go see..hear it is going to be moved. Hope it can be and put back together so people for a long time to come can enjoy.
We stumbled across this attraction whilst checking out the movie stars homes in Palm Springs one Saturday and I was blown away with what had been created. Someone must’ve had a great imagination to build such a huge collection that could be seen from the road. Unfortunately the property was closed on that day so was unable to see the rest of the exhibits.
This place far exceeded my expectations! I walked around in complete awe over all the awesome art. I feel like I could come back multiple times and see details I overlooked.
This place is awesome. The art is completely out of this world and crazy. It can be a little hard to get around when theres a huge crowd and some of the pathways lead to dead ends or in circles. So you can pretty much go in any direction and see something crazy. Love the idea and theme of it. Everyone should go check this out.
Sick place I would like to visit this every year
Its more of a vehicle to showcase the owner - artists sculptures more than a traditional Christmas holiday experience. Think Tim Burtons A Nightmare Before Christmas meets Gundam. Regardless, its an Art Show. I dont feel compelled to repeat this exhibit however I saw a lot of people enjoying the same event that I thought to be good enough for a single visit. I used to work in an Art Museum, so I am a little bit hard to impress. I say judge for yourself and give it a try. Theres no admission fee, but you can make a donation to the exhibit if you wish.
This place is amazing. Had a job to deliver some art work created here to a clients home. There is so much to see. It is definitely worth seeing.
Greatest place! Artwork is amazing! So many displays made out of things people throw away or no longer have use of! Best display of Christmas lights!
Hopefully they open their new location quick. Its epic
This is the most amazing, awe- inspiring, macabre, humorous art, light, music installation I have ever seen or experienced! Inside the mind of the sole creator must exist the details of a thousand minds thinking & creating overtime. Everyday objects like toilets, door handles, microwaves, computers, tv’s, canes, paint cans, bullet casings, pipes, dolls, old carnival rides etc etc form larger than life sculptures. Meandering walkways create a maze through the 2 1/2 acre neighborhood lot of huge inflatables. Christmas music in different languages, ponds of floating art & lights, lights, lights over under through around lend to the charm of the work. The experience is free ( tho’ donations are accepted) and in its last year at the home location. Dogs, babies, older people, teenagers, families are all welcome. Open from 4:00- 9:30pm until January 1st.
I heard about this place for years. Even when they tried shutting it down. It is by far one of the most unique things I have ever seen and so creative. I can not wait to take my son to see it all lit up this year.
Amazing!I went there expecting to drive by and enjoy one of those elaboratly decorated homes with a light show....WOW.... this was soooo much more...A true work of Art and Imagination! It was so much more... You actually park and walk through. I had the honor of meeting the artist and creator... He was busy at work with his continuous creations... Also clearly a sense of humor too... A must see, at least once!
Ive never seen anything like it! I cant even begin to tell you how bizarre, how many lights, animations, characters, and oddities. All packed in a regular neighborhood. You feel like you have been abducted and taken to some other planet. Loved it!!!
It‘s CLOSED. You can still see some robots from the outside but it‘s closed you can‘t go inside the park
So cool! Second time here and theres plenty of new things this year. Such a neat weird vibe wandering around. An experience that must be had.
