Its a beautiful place to take a walk, either on a paved section or along the beach. There were lots of people on the trail enjoying the beautiful weather and fantastic views. Parking wasnt a problem. Most people seem to be wearing their masks. But definitely a few who choose not to wear one. Not cool, people! Beach and trails are well maintained, nice and clean.
Beach was perfect but tons of people! Somehow everyone had space to set up shop with the family and be far enough from others. There was also a taco bell right off the water which was perfect. The water was cold as expected but a very nice experience over all! Tons of sand and a great view of a mountain side .
Beautiful Scenic Beaches Very Clean . The cliffs and rocks are nice. I saw the Sun set for 2 evenings in a row and each one was just spectacular. I am Scenic Photographer and the Pictures I captured are breath taking. It reminded of sitting on the Beach in Maui. Pacifica is a nice Beach Town . Nice restaurants and shopping. Really Nice hotels at a good rate especially during the week. I will visit Pacifica again as soon as possible. Crystal
Love this beach. Beautiful here. Very nice little town, not to touristy. The beaches are amazing, some have outside showers to was off the sand after playing or surfing. There are restaurants and hotels along or very close to the beach
Beautiful beach very clean, most people here are surfing and the waves are not bad at all. Parking lot A can be busy if you are having trouble finding a place then the best way to do is to drive to next parking lot B which is usually empty. Only two bathrooms are available now. Taco bell is accepting in door dinning and outdoor as well.
Its great at the beach when the sun is out! Restrooms are right there, and the so is the Taco Bell! Walking and bike trail is there too.
This location was great and easy to get to. It was pretty busy parking lot was full had to walk but it wasnt far from the beach. It had a taco bell in the parking lot. Walking through the sand was a lot of big rocks that was pretty difficult carrying and pushing things through it...i didnt like that at all. But nice views from anywhere you sit. Enjoy a smoke, drink, kick back and relax
Love this beach. Been going here with my family for many years. The water is always cold but fun to play in. Theres nice walking trails at both ends of the beach. Bathrooms are close by and the taco bell on the beach is always good and they sell alcohol! Safeway is also a nearby in case you need anything
Stunning scenery especially up the cliffs which are easy to climb. There is also a nice Taco Bell with a terrace for when you get hungry.
One of the best beaches for beginning surfers literally in the world. The farther south end the better it is to learn. Soft, crumbling waves, minimal current, rather shallow waters. The more north you go up the beach the waves get a little better quality for more advanced surfers. Basically from Taco Bell north it gets rippable. This spot handles the wind very very well. It seems to be frequently offshore when Ocean Beach and Half Moon Bay are blown out. Very friendly crowd and lots of parking (paid) and bathrooms and a couple showers. Great family beach, generally safe for the little ones to wade in the surf. Very mellow local vibe but like everywhere else, the rules apply. Do not ever drop in on anyone. Respect the surfer in the peak and if youre paddling back out, the surfer riding the wave has priority and never bail your board behind you if a wave is breaking in front of you. Duck-dive or turtle-dive and take your pounding like we all have. Never rely on your leash. Surf like you dont have a leash on and youll be fine. Rent boards and wetsuits at Norcal Surf Shop and have a great session!
Weather was nice! Water and waves were awesome first time Surfing fun fun fun. Dogs are welcome. Great place for the family.
In these days of COVID we need outside activities. Thanks goodness this beach is open, and parking is open! We headed out early to make sure we got a parking space. At 9 am on an overcast Sunday, it was already pretty packed. Lots of surfers. We still got a great spot on the beach. Public restrooms are open. So basically this is the perfect weekend activity! The kids had a blast.
Super crowded on weekends during the summer. Water quality is not great especially by the creek. The runoff water is not treated. Waves are friendly for beginner surfers and there are a ton of surfers on weekends. A bit hazardous since you have to watch out for lots of beginners who are not aware (or do not observe) surfing etiquettes. But since its the most beginners friendly beach in SF, people will put up with it. Less people on the north end but the surf gets bigger there so be careful especially when it gets big.
This is a fairly wide beach that is next to a nice walking trail. It can get crowded on the weekends and parking is a little hard (you have to pay and sometimes theres no room in the main lot). Theres a bathroom (and a taco bell) right next to the beach.
+ Nice views+ Convenient shopping nearby, and nice taco bell- Super crowded- Limited Parking- Not the cleanest beach Ive seen
Beach was great, not a lot of people with corona. Was able to safely into the beach without being surrounded by lots of people.
Best Beach! Pristine sand &Magnificent Vistas.. surrounded by cliffs. May see aquatic life!
Nice clean beach. not walk the whole beach, but fished the surf.
Great place to hang out, surf, or do whatever else one does at a beach. Great options for beginners to surf, at least from the eyes of someone who knows nothing about surfing. It’s overcast here most days out of the year, but lovely whenever the sun peaks out. It is also super busy most viable days out of the year, so be prepared for that.
Ive been wanting to go there but every time i go its packed with lots of people but the view and the driver was beautiful
Definitely a good surfing spot if youre into that. You could tell a lot of locals come here definatly not so crowded with tourists like Ocean Beach, its worth the trip to drive 10min down to more secluded beaches if your not into crowds & crowded parking. Decent size beach close to shops and places to eat. Its fun to watch all the surfers in action here on the waves.
Lots of surfers here. I dont surf, but its fun to watch. There is a surf shop where you can rent all the gear for surfing, I think it was called norcal surf shop Everyone seemed really nice at the beach. Wish I took more than one photo (sorry). My photo doesnt do the place any justice.Oh, and its hard to find available parking spots, you might have to circle around a few times, or park further away. Make make sure you park somewhere where you wont get towed.
Clean and well maintained beach. The Taco Bell on the beach with that magnificent view is a must see.
Great spot for surfers. At the same time, waves are strong. It wouldn’t be the top place that I recommend for families with kids. On a Saturday in August, it’s crowded but not that bad.
Beautiful place to relax sit on the sand watching the waves, long trail to walk with beautiful view of the ocean .
Great beach, hard to park during warm sunny days. Sunsets from here are beautiful. Dining options are pretty close.
A beautiful expanse of beach, great for low-key surfing, wading, people-watching, and hiking or biking along the adjacent trails.
Super busy and kind of hard to find parking space, its cool that it has a taco bell on the beach
Beautiful! One of my favourite spots.... no words to describe the beautiful beaches... it’s a “must see” spot
Is a beautiful beach. Great place to relax, bring your dog and play. It has become one of my favorite beaches.
Beautiful place to visit. The scenery, I was awestruck. If you are visiting, it is cold and windy. Come with a sweater and pants for kids. Water is very cold, but the kids dont seem to notice.
Very pretty beach. Theres a lot of debris on the sand, so bring a blanket or towel to sit on.
Beautiful and plenty of room. I am sure before or after Covid, this beach is crowded, but if you get there early enough, no problem with parking or finding a spot in the sand. We got there at 8AM and was pretty empty. Also, there is a pretty unique Taco Bell on the beach also.
Great mini getaway! Currently planning my next getaway day there.
Good size beach, nice spot for beginners surfers.Plenty of parking and good restaurants/coffees nearby.
Pacifica Beach is kind of a hidden gem.Nice easy walking trails to walk up to Mori Point Cliff. Pacifica fishing pier you can catch Dungeness crab, salmon and striped bass. The view being out over the water from the pier is beautiful.Always bring a light jacket and hat, Pacifica can get chilly very quickly when the wind gets going usually around midday.Excellent fishing from the beach for surf perch and striped bass. Pacifica is a great place to enjoy the outdoors
Good vibe place with amazing view and so close to the city!
This beach is worth a visit. Take your family and enjoy the beauty around. We spent a whole day here and felt so relaxed. A lot of food options near by.This beach offered us a lot of views of sharks and had a lot of kelp on the beach. The end of the beach has a lot of clam shells, live urchins and jelly fish. It smells a lot at some spots while others are fine to sit and relax. The sunset was extremely beautiful and the highlight of the whole day!
Wow! The views are spectacular! Unlike non other. Rt. 1 north from Half Moon Bay to Pacifica Beach is a breath taking view!
Crowded beach with nice views with restaurants and grocery stores close by! There is also a nice running biking trail along side the beach which goes on top of the hill, if you felt like walking!
An easy trail leads to view the beach, and remember to grab a taco :)
Nice surf beach. Crowded. There are 2 paid parking lots nearby. Good beach to hangout and watch people surf. Family and dog friendly.
Beautiful beach we very nice scenery. We actually saw humpbacks today. The only problem is parking which is in high demand around here
Its about a 0.7 mile walk from south sand tip to north sand tip.Smaller, softer waves on the south end & larger, longer waves on the north half.Nice place for a leisurely walk to enjoy watching surfers of all age.
Went today - absolutely packed with people and little to no social distancing, mask wearing or regard for the existence of COVID-19. If you are looking for somewhere to go and feel safe don’t go here. Please Pacifica beach goers put on a mask and stay safe...at a distance!
Excellent beach except for the trash. Also problems when a hard rain occurs due to sewer water runoff draining straight to the ocean. Excellent place to learn to surf.
A delightful beach within a half hour drive from San Francisco. Host of.the annual World Surfing Dog Championship and the Fog festival in the fall. A small beach commune steps away from the more chaotic San Francisco
Beach was not clean. But many surfers were busy on a brighter and sunny day. I prefer half moon Bay over this beach.
Clean beach. Has public bathrooms that were relatively clean.
Great open beach, very easy to reach by highway as opposed to all the other beaches in or near sf
I love this beach but it gets crowded easily on hot days and during quarantine I wouldnt suggest going unless you are wearing a mask and distancing yourself from others.
A beautiful place for hiking at any time of the day. Surfers love it here and not too far from San Francisco.. A fun outing for the whole family.
I was there to have a quiet night alone. It was perfect.
Real nice beach. I was here end of December and waves seemed not so good. But what do I know. Grocery right next to beach. Doesn’t get much better.
Great beach with lots of room and plenty to do in the water, just a bit crowded during the summer and on weekends in general. Bring a jacket or sweater as it is often windy
Came here often. Different time of the day different weather you see different views. Picture perfect place for beach running tanning dog walking, picnicking, surfing of course, or just simply sitting in the sand watching beautiful people surfing in the waves.
Too crowded with surfers and schools that should not be in the line up. Schools should teach ettiquet along with learning to stand on a board.
Great family beach I grew up here and always take my family back..nice little fast food place on the beach. showers..close to more fast food local dining and shopping center..nice scenic drives up the coast ...great peacefull place...also a great place for some waves if you surf
Perfect surf spot close to San Francisco
Nice place to relax and watch the surfers. Park for 30 minutes free. Otherwise its $7 for 4 hrs.
U feel good walking around the beach
Absolutely beautiful!! Very relaxing!! Highly recommend to kick back and enjoy life hearing the waves crash. Cant wait to get back!!
An easy 20-30 minute drive South from San Francisco on Highway 1 and you can find yourself at Pacifica State Beach. The parking is fairly easy as you can park right in town or up the hill behind the Pacifica Beach Hotel on Roberts Road and then walk down across the highway. While you’re on the beach there’s a really nice view of the residential area on the hill (which was almost covered in fog when I was there and, was told, is common). Although not very big, the beach itself seemed really clean and well kept. Down on the South side of the beach there’s a Taco Bell, which I thought was pretty funny. If you’re into watching surfers, there were plenty of them here.Overall it was an enjoyable beach. It could be fun to rent a hotel room at the Pacifica Beach Hotel and hang out for a weekend.
This is a lovely place to visit. The lighthouse owners have a small area without fees where you are allowed to park. (There is one porta-potty at this location) You can take a very short walk to the cliffside and view the lighthouse. There is a fee to enter and tour the lighthouse and lighthouse property, but I do not know how much it is.
Low-key beach lots of surfers and a Taco Bell
The people are very friendly This place is amazing very nice soft sand though water is very cold but clean and there is a Taco Bell nearby right next to the water parking you have to pay for but its cheap.... Its very family friendly doesnt get that crowded at night time probably like around 5
Pretty awesome. The water was beautiful, the sun was warm. Watching those kids who are getting too big too fast play like no one was watching made my day.
Great beach with conveniences close by. Arrive early as parking spots fill up quickly.
Pretty nice little over look area just off the free way. Sometimes you can watch paragliders or people flying rc planes. Traffic is usually pretty light. If you go down to the main beach access it gets pretty packed pretty quick.
Great beach family fun and taco bell by beach front
Nice beach, lots of surfers, Taco Bell on the beach is convenient but at the same time kind of an insult to nature
Beautiful place, love to watch surfers, parking is sometimes a problem esp during weekends.
The main toilets are currently closed I assume due to covid but there a few portable shed toilets. Theres parking but not much. People on the beach were well spaced.
Wonderful visit from daughtersIn addition my beautiful sister came alongMade it perfect.
What an awesome beach. Great vibe
Very crowded for hiking, but you can still stay somewhat socially distant. Theres outdoor seating at the VERY EXPENSIVE restaurant across the street, but still a good experience.
Ive been to this beach many times and it still gets me excited. Great sand, people and a vibe similar to Santa Cruz. Hey, if youre hungry grab some Taco Bell!
Nice beach for surfing but it gets super crowded (both for parking and for surfing).
Beautiful, I love it here the people are so nice the scenery is great!!
A little crowded, especially for covid, and otherwise a little dirty but seems like a great surf spot and a beach you can actually wade into a bit, which is rare for NorCal!
Beautiful beach. Lots and lots of suffers. This beach is def a beach for more advanced surfers. I would not recommend this beach for people with really young children. Unless youve grown up here and have swam your entire life here. There are lots of rid tides here. Its a very rugged beach the closer you get to town and all the houses that line the beach. Be safe.
Perfect spot!! Clean & relaxing. Great family location.
Amazing views, plenty of parking. All the family will love it. Pet friendly.
Beautiful beach with black sand. On one side hills surrounded by clouds and other side is waves of Pacific Ocean. Peer us generally occupied by professional and amature fishermans. Eagles are roaming around to get fishes too. The beach is rocky at places.
Favorite beach with easy parking on the beach side and across the street. Taco Bell Cantina right on the sand with walk up window for sandy feet! At the south end of the beach take the trail to the shopping plaza to surf rental shop for boards and suits....get coffee and food (burritos, burgers and more).
Some of the most beautiful views of the ocean! (From Highway 1)
Nice sprawling beach with restrooms and a Taco Bell on the shoreline. Dogs allowed on leash. Free parking though hard to get, during busy times (weekends). Fantastic tide pools and popular surf spot. Definitely worth a visit whether youre a tourist or just live in the Bay area.
Great kid friendly beach, super close parking lot, plus Taco Bell literally on the beach. Its a beautiful spot with gorgeous views and medium sized waves for surfing and boogie boarding.
Great family location, excellent trails, awesome views, wonderful weather. I did see a couple of hidden homeless tents in the bushes and some people rudely leave dog bags randomly thrown but overall clean/relatively safe area. Great for surfing
