I really enjoy crabbing here off the pier. I like being outside. Only complaint is that people smoke all around you. But what evs. Sometimes you cant even get a spot to crab because its so crowded
Best place for a beginner fisherman/crabber!Long L-shaped fishing pier with a cafe at the head of it. You don’t need a fishing license to fish from the pier. The cafe is the perfect spot to get coffee/pastries and perhaps an extra snare if you lose one to the pillars.
Pacifica Municipal Pier was definitely a crab fishing must. We caught crabs almost immediately while drop lines and crab nets in the water at 10am. Catch included Red Rock and Rock crabs. Parking fills up fast. Best to arrive early with tackle, a chair, snacks and some cold beer. *Note.. Dungeness Crab is illegal to catch and keep. Fishing season is to reopen Nov 7 2020. Rangers are patrolling for violaters which come with a hefty fines.
A very cool spot with a great view. If you like fishing, its a great spot, plus you dont even need a license on the pier to fish! My only complaint comes from the fact that its a very popular spot and that comes with large crowds and at times leads to the pier becoming very dirty. Still worth a visit and still a great spot to fish, but be aware that the pier can fill up and get crowded quickly.
Went crab fishing. Call a few small ones but no keepers. Still had fun. Can get a little crowded at times.
Great place to fish and crabbing. Plenty of room and there are parking spots available. There even is a coffee shop that opens at 7 am.
This place brings back so many awesome memories. Its a great place to fish and even to meet new friends. The waves are hella fun to watch, especially when they are huge...
Dirty but great experience. Great people. There’s a small little shop at the end of the pier and they have clam chowder on the weekends you can also buy crab snares and bait there.
Great place to go crabbing and fishing. Ample parking and plenty of room to cast.
This pier looks like something the Soviets built! Walking out on it, smelling all the cigarette smoke, listening to the banter from the fishermen, I feel like I’m in North Korea or China. I give the pier 1 star, the ocean, and fresh air when I can catch if before it gets filtered through some guys smoldering ciggy, is great. The views are obviously 5 stars all day in all weather! The bathrooms are not kept clean and the cafe is long gone and now a bait shop. Parking is fairly easy along the street.
Love it! So beautiful to be that far out in the ocean amazing place....I love the ocean waves
Good place to go crabbing or fishing. Can be crowded on the weekends regardless of sun or fog. Not exactly the cleanest place -- lots of discarded items (eg. seaweed, shells, bait, lures, snapped line) that seagulls or fishers have dropped. Even if you score a bench, its usually wet or covered with bird droppings so be prepared.
Chit Chate cafe was great! Good latte and patries. Then take a walk along beach or pier.
Love to go read my book down there. The salt air, sound of the waves, and just the atmosphere... If I could afford CA, thats where Id live. Common Lotto!!!!
The pier offers a nice walk out on the ocean with great views at the coastline. Easy parking, at least during the week, but it can get quite busy on the weekend. A good spot for fishing, crabbing or just a stroll to get some good air. There are no businesses on the pier except a small cafe right at the ramp.
Cool environment, gets busy early so get their early!
Neat place. Ocean was angry that day. Large waves
Absolutely beautiful but super super packed with anglers. You cannot stroll down this pier with your date.
Had a great time with my son on his birthday great place for dogs
Everyone is so friendly and helpful, I love this place.
Great place to spend the day and meet new friends.
Great place to fish or crab or just walk on the pier. Friendly, low key area.
Would be nicer to visit if it was kept cleaner. Especially now with the covid virus
A lot of fishing going on there good louck
Pacifica Municipal Pier is such an amazing experience! There is a cafe with homemade food, delicious snacks and different coffees. I grabbed a hot Mocha and a Sandie! Be sure to bundle up, as it is cold on the pier. I walked down the pier. You can feel the waves crash under the pier. There were fishermen catching mostly crabs. The pier is a must see place if you are in Pacifica.
Nice place for relaxing, take a walk.
Very good facilities. We can fishing and enjoy a nice sunset before. But not a good time go here because virus, very crowd.
Always love fresh air sun or fog it is a good place to walk
Such an awesome place to visit! Catching Dungeness is so easy!unfortunately the season doesnt start until November 1st so we had to catch and release but it was so much fun even doing that! Highly recommend this place for fishing!
Great place to watch the waves at high tide!
It was pretty :) a lot of big waves!!
The pier is pretty dirty but there are people who fish every day here. Its still very sturdy and could be worse
Wow what a place fishing grabbing the kicker is this Coffee and Sandwiched & Pastries Shop at the front entrance to the pier every body that was grabbing were pulling there grab nets up with 5 to 7 grabs
My absolute favorite local spot! You can walk out on the pier where youll find a lot of fishermen who are so happy to show off the days catch. A great place to go and gather your thoughts, unwind after a long day, and definitely the spot to catch an amazing sunset!!!
Amazing place to fishing if u dont have a fishing license, just remember to bring ur crab ruler if u going for crabs, there are always checking inspection by the rangers,
Great Pier! Lots of friendly folks.
Fun place to go crabbing for the day.
Carne Asada burrito and Carne Asada Fries are my favorite here, outside dining is set up very well!
Fishermen take up much of the real estate on the pier, so watch the railings for worms and bait, and your feet from cleaned fish. Wonderful view and worth the walk. We even saw a sea lion!
Nice view!Im always enjoy going there with my girls
Nice breeze...warm...This is my moms favorite place to go..the waves are big. It is nice weather today. Beautiful day. Thank you Lord for creating this beauty
Too many people, not enough masks. Was pretty though.
It was pretty nice. A decent place for walking
No crabs too crowded
Way too crowded during Dungeness crab opening weeks. Almost 100 people.
Love the view its so nice especially the weather.
Dont go to this beach if you plan to swim. The current is unbelievable. It is impossible to fight it and you could end up in serious trouble.
Very relaxing just watching people and the water nice.
Great place
Lots of lots of people come here fishing. Its perfect spot to enjoy the waves crushing under your feet. Nice place for walking hiking jogging, or doing nothing.
Always amazing. Greatest stayca in the planetarium
Even though this pier is full of people fishing, its still gorgeous and picturesque. I recommend at least one visit. I personally went at sunset. Incredible photography opportunities here.
Masks, masks and more masks, tons of construction, very little parking, dirty as all get out, except for the masks, its just the way I remember it. To top it off, I was with 2 other people and we stopped to eat, apparently I was invisible because my friends received their food, they didnt even write down my order so I was left in the cold.
Beautiful spot to get away from the city.
Decently maintained, restroom and sinks to use during open hours. Lots of regulars and families using this pier. Minus one star for parking constraints
Very cool and lots of fishermen to watch and/or fish with
Pacifica is my city. Love the Pier and the beautiful sunsets
Great to enjoy fresh air and fishing. Parking could be limited and there is a Monday time limit
Absolutely beautiful sunsets
Geart get away to the coast, fishing crabbing. Nice ocean view sometimes whales dolphins swim by.
Very friendly environment and welcoming staff.
Big fun, lots of folks walking and fishing the pier.
Great spot to take a walk along the beach without having to step in the sand. Paved pathway.
Want to get away and get fresh air and watch/ hear the ocean. This is the place to take a walk on the pier. On most days and almost always you will find fisherman and many with thier families crabbing, fishing or just hanging out. I would say that this place is safe as long as you dont stand on the railing. Needs more benches to sit but other than that its very nice.
Me and my family have been fishing on and off from this place since 1998 and it always produces nice catch! They only problem I have is there is only one restroom area and its by the entrance to the pier! Lol! If you need to go and use the restroom while you are fishing and if youre all the way to the end of the pier, thats going to be a long walk!
Its a good pier with good crab fishing. but its subject to a lot of big waves and its usually crowded. but I would still give it a try if your looking to have fresh as it gets crab and dont want to pay am arm and a leg to get a claw!
Totally interesting place for photos and fishing.
I like so much that is so very very beautiful
Perfect fishing spot and to watch sunset
Breathtaking. Phenomenal Views.
Early morning stroll with the kids.
Disgusting, debris all over, smell so bad. ALWAYS. Is not clean pier. People fishing, doing other stuff. That place needs to be clean. Everytime I came here is always like that. For at least 25 years.
Very nice change from 100° + weather. Lots of fishing going on
Great pier! Fairly clean (except those pesky seagulls, and their droppings). They have trash cans, fish cleaning stations with running fresh water and benches. A tiny store with fresh coffee, snacks, bait and snares. But the best of all is Dungeness crabs!!!
Nice spot for fishing and crabbing
Great pier that offers fishing and crabbing opportunities. There are restrooms and a cafe named Chit Chat at the beginning of the pier which also sells bait. Note that its not open 24 hours. It opens at 4am, closes at 10pm, and there are gates to enforce this. Parking during peak times can also be a challenge, but there are also surrounding neighborhoods you can try if youre OK with walking a bit.
Very disappointed. We were ready to go fishing on the pier and when we were parallel parking the curb sidewalk has the metal exsposed due to crackedsidewalk and it sliced our tire. We have an SUV not cheap to replace one tire.
One of the best piers for the potential of species caught, perch, croaker, stripers, salmon and Dungeness crab. The parking is on side streets and limited. Its crowded and reeks of urine and rotting bait. Dress for cold weather, it can be in the 50s with 20+mph wind even in the summer
Hiking heaven
Good place for a run, wish the city would add more businesses /lighting. Pier always has some funky characters hanging around
Nice place to fish or just enjoy the waves!
The Pacifica pier is one of the many hidden gems along the California coastline. This concrete pier is a meeting ground for fishing enthusiasts and onlookers from all walks of life. With a cafe and coffee shop at the entrance one can grab a coffee and a bagel and stroll along the pier, observing as anglers reel in Dungeness crab and striped bass.
Nice lovely beautiful enjoying
Great beach and pier less than 20 min south of San Francisco. This place also has hiking trails very close to the beach... You can go from waking the beach to hiking in the same walk.
Great place come with friends to chill and catch some crabs. It does get quite cold later in the day. Recommended to wear several layers of clothes.
Super nice peir with giant waves and a cafe nearby. Although theres people who always play music on the peir a lot and it gets super irritating
Seems great for fishing, but pretty meh for visitors.
Nice to walk and enjoy the ocean
Awesome place to relax, walk with your dog or just taking a great coffee admiring the beautiful views!
One of the best piers in Northern California, definitely an amazing experience just being on the pier. If youre lucky youll see a patch of dolphins jumping along in the way back of pier. Ive seen a vast amount of wild ocean life including seals, whales, dolphins and one 15+ft great white right from the pier itself. Epic.
