Beautiful trail along the old US-1 route which means it’s extremely wide as it used to fit 2 single lane vehicle roads which is now replaced by the tunnel just off to the side. Clearly marked pedestrian and bicyclist lanes. Lookout points and rest areas with benches sprinkled throughout. Came before noon and was met with a dense fog which started clearing out in the afternoon. Even with the limited view of the coastline, it was well worth the visit.

If you looking for something very easy and super pretty, this is the PLACE.I was here on 6/9/20.The park is open back, very clean area, restroom in both sides, limited parking.We did 3.6 miles RT, and 435 ft gain.It has a lot of benches.My thoughts... It’s not a hike, more like a cliff side walk.It is very treacherous.We walked from this side of the bunker and walked back.It is incredible view of the ocean from high up, the ocean so calm and so blue.The mixed between those rocks, pave road and the ocean gave me very special feeling,It is the mixed between human and Mother Nature.It is amazing photo spots.I took a lot of landscaping pictures from Tom Lantos tunnels and the bunker.I went here with my three sisters.They were agree with me this is the place to walk with your lover and family.It will be a lot of fun and relaxing.Happy walk folks.

This is a great place for biking with such a beautiful view along. Also parking can be an issue. We went around 8am and found the last spot for parking. I would suggest to go early morning as it’s not crowded and it’s really peaceful and parking is sorted!

The main trail is paved and easy to walk on. It gets a little steep, but nothing too hard! You have beautiful views of the ocean and if you take some of the unmarked trails going up on the hills, youll reach some amazing views like this one! You can find them closer towards the north parking area.

Paved trail with dedicated lanes for hiking and biking. Short 1.3 mile hike each way is well suited for families with kids. Gorgeous views of the Pacific and rugged cliffs. The trail tends to be quite windy. Don’t forget to bring a light jacket.

Very beautiful hike near highway 1 and the ocean. This used to be part of highway 1 that was very treacherous.You will have an amazing view of the ocean and you will get to see divert rock formations.

One of the best hikes I’ve been locally in a while. Weather was beautiful and the views were amazing.

It takes 35 minutes at medium pace to walk from south parking lot to north parking lot. South to north is uphill, going downhill from north lot to south takes less time. Nice views (ocean and rocks / cliffs). The entire “trail” is paved asphalt (this used to be part of Highway 1 before it was bypassed by the Tom Lantos Tunnels nearby).

Beautiful coastal trail. We enjoyed the scenic breeze walk along the coast on the old highway 1 before the fog cleared. This trail has little bit of slope to it so youre never on the flat surface meaning you either going up or down the hill. We talked to some folks while hiking and not everyone can walk this trail, but they do have benches placed every so often that you can take a break and enjoy The view. On the weekend this place is packed and it might be a challenge to find a parking. Monday through Friday this place is not as packed. Ive seen this trail on the map and drove 30 miles out of my way just to see this place in person and I dont regret doing so. As I took lots of landscaping pictures from this place.

2.5 out and back paved trail, mixed use with bikes. Its an easy walk, but beware windy days which can be brutal on this walk. Views of the ocean and cliffs are stunning. Parking very limited on either end of the trail, especially on weekends.

Got there early around 9am so that I could get parking in the north lot. Turned out to be a completely foggy day so had zero views. Nice trail and the views couldve been wonderful had it cleared up. Will come again on a clear day. Pacifica state beach is a nice stop after.

Cool temps and very scenic. Fiship boats, cargo ships, birds, and other wildlife. Parking was an adventure but have patience as people come and go.

Absolutely spectacular! Great views and workout if you walk down & back. Fantastic coastline & rock views, bring your camera and binoculars! Parking at either end is limited so go early or off hours. There are bathrooms at the south end. No cars!...just people & bikes.

Beautiful short paved walking path. This used to the California Highway 1 until the adjacent tunnel was built, not it is a park for walkers and bicyclists. Fantastic views of the ocean. Only about 1 mile long that is uphill from south to north. Small parking lots at both ends of the trail that are often full on weekends.

Devils Slide is a very short hike that is paved with roads, so would be perfect for even jogging, power walks, and routine hikes. If I was training for a marathon, Id probably come here. Everytime Ive come it has been foggy, giving it a fun/ eerie feeling to go along with its name. There are benches/ binocs in the middle and theres a part you pass that looks like the land before time.Also very close by is a bunker that has been tagged with grafitti that is great for group photos. Highly recommend Devils Slide for short and sweet hikes.Only thing is the parking is extremely limited, so try to carpool if you are trying to meet up!

Great hike, simple and beautiful.

Beautiful scenic trail. Parking is problem in weekends. The trail is cemented with bike track, other vehicles are not allowed on the trail. Always wear cloths keeping in mind cold and high speed wind. Wind blows between gaps sounds like whistle. Here wind speed may be around 50 to 60 kns.

It is just awesome. Its a walk along the sea and peaceful.Make sure to check weather before you visit though since it tends to be really windy sometimes.Enjoy!

Short and sweet. Its not a hike, more of a cliffside walk. The trail is paved and easily accessible. Good for people who just wanna get out of SF and see the beautiful cliffs.

Really nice walkway on the old closed route of Highway 1. Its a fairly easy hike from one end to the other, and offers great views of the cliffs and ocean. My favorite spot is the eroded bunker.This was the scariest part of Highway 1 when I was a kid, as Id heard about all the landslides and car crashes here (plus the name, of course). It works much better as a walkway.

This portion of Rt.1 was closed due to so many land slides and a tunnel was built for traffic. The road was left open for walkers and it was gorgeous. The coastline there was magnificent and the walk was very easy. Good for all ages.

The walk is on the paved road that used to be HWY 1 before tunnel opened, so walking is fairly easy. Expansive views of oceans and cliffs. Can get windy.

Great paved walk along the beautiful Northern California coast. Whale and bird watching a great plus! Also met a few like minded nature lovers along the trail. We brought along our trash collecting kit but we didnt need it because this place is immaculate! Come and enjoy!

The park was a fun little detour as I drove up the coast. Nice to stretch my legs on the 1.3 mile trail (2.6 round trip), be warned it is not flat. The entire path is paved and very well maintained. The peak gives a beautiful view of the Pacific ocean; we saw a pod of whales in the distance! Parking and restrooms are on each end of the park.

SIP had beaches closed down so as a local I was able to hike out there without to many people around, love the feeling of the deserted old hwy as you walk and enjoy the views.

Delicious and robust beer selection, both on tap and in bottles; something for everyone. The food was tasty too. Had a grilled cheese with chicken. Legit.

Great walk with fantastic views. But the only parking is at the two entrances to DS and it’s limited. Many people just wait for a spot to open up. The shuttle advertised on their website is no longer operational.

I use to come here to practice skate board but now to walk my dog. Bring your binoculars for whale season! Nice paved path. Clear pedestrian and bike lanes.

Hidden place and nice hike, you will see huge difference in temperature between this place and other bay area cities. Much much colder.get here when there is sun and not much fog. you can really see pretty ocean and whale watching. If you cross the tunnel and find a parking somewhere. You can even hike close by mountain and can get to a quite edge of the mountain and get really nice views of Golden gate bridge, bay and ocean. Must visit for people who like moderate hike and want to sit quite and watch the beautiful ocean.

Fabulous views! Very little parking. Paved walking trail that is over a mile long. Note that it is an uphill walk but well worth out. It is a great place to whale watch or just relax and stare at the ocean down below. This used to be a part of highway 1 but now its just for people, bikes, and horses. You can park on the north or south end of the tunnels and walk in either direction. The north end is the easier walk if you dont want to do a lot of uphill walking. However, the south end has a view almost straight away.

Fun hike, about 2.6 miles round-trip. The walk is on pavement. Mostly uphill to start. Fantastic view. The walk to the end was clear and the walk back was foggy and made for great pictures. Would recommend.

Hidden gem of the Bay. All you recent transplants who brought your cars should spend more time touring the Pacific coast, the highway is spectacular. This park is a section of highway thats been converted to a... park. Here you can enjoy the dramatic California coastline on foot. A real treat.

Hike along a highway with no cars, great views, geology and wildlife.

A wonderful walk through a unique former section of the 1 which was closed due to frequent landslides. Its so nice that they opened it as a park and excellent place for bird watching.

Easy walk - can be slippery with early morning dew and ocean breeze or late evenings - of course, after rain as well, though an easy walk, it requires shoes with non-slippery soles because you just never know when it might be wet. Great views whether its clear or overcast

Wide paved trail with benches and telescopes and unisex bathrooms there is also plenty of parking. The sights you see from the trail mostly of the ocean are spectacular and the trail itself is fairly short about a mile I think.

I used to love driving this road when it was open Ive gone up and down that particular spot many times over the years since the late 60s very exhilarating exciting spot you dont know whether to enjoy the view or speed up and get the heck out of there haha I was disappointed that I couldnt walk up the side to the Lookouts which you used to be able to do a long time ago very dangerous but boy was it fun the best time to go is during the week when theres hardly anybody there and I didnt know this but the hike goes from one parking lot on one side of the tunnel to the other parking lot on the other side of the tunnel I like the south parking lot better because the walk back is all downhill haha great place good views if its clear you can see the Farallon Islands very easily

This place is right off the highway and parking is limited but free. Great for a scenic walk/bike/hike.
