Really nice place to take a lunch break! Food close by. Parking is usually ok. Friendly people. Not very much foot traffic. From wat I saw people are pretty much space far apart.

I took my dogs here for their first beach outing and it was a success! There is some construction at the entrance of the park so there’s a little less parking than normal. It’s a pretty steep walk down but it’s so worth it. We came on a Wednesday at 10am and we had the beach to ourselves for the first two hours. If you have a pup that loves water I highly recommend checking this place out.

Awesome little spot to bring your dog to run off leash, as of recent there is a TON of construction going on down there right now. The path down is a little steep, so be careful! But other than that, it’s an awesome little beach with a good amount of other dogs running around the beach.

You can get trapped at the south end of the beach if the tide comes in.Beautiful beach with cliffs on one side and ocean on the other. Not too crowded and a designated off leash area. Perfect for younger dogs that dont have great voice control due to natural fence and safer ocean currents than Ocean Beach. Be prepared for a steep climb down to the beach and back to your car.

What a great place for off-leash play! The ends of the beach on the North and South are bounded by cliffs/rocks so the dogs arent able to escape the area unless they run all the way back to the stairs. There is a lot of beach area for the dogs to explore and run and play.There is no water fountain or other services at the beach so bring water and a bowl!This should go without saying, but plan on your dog being sandy and salty when they get back in your car. There is no dog washing station to clean them after their beach run. Cover your car in a blanket or just be ready to vacuum when you get home.Parking: on-street only at the top of the cliff. There is no lot or structure. You may have to park a bit away from the ramp entrance to the beach. Be sure you are parking legally.Tides: Be sure to check the tide level for when you plan to be on the beach!

I used to live here (Lands end) - used to be gorgeous, but construction has pretty much ruined it :(. Sand not charming, water not as gorgeous and view not lush - so heartbreaking. I would rather go to pacifica pier.

The beach is great, off leash dogs everywhere and plenty of space to socially distance. We even saw a couple of whales feeding about 300ft from the shore. There is street parking and its an easy walk to the beach entrance. Getting into the beach is easy as there is a downhill pathway. Getting out of the beach is another story as the pathway is steep and sandy. I didnt see any restrooms or water spigots - there is construction so maybe thatll be available in the future. If you so come, pack lightly. We brought our wagon and regretted it!

It was Beautiful and peaceful in the early morning without all the annoying people. Dogs loved rolling on stinky seaweed and get their feet wet.

Incredible dog beach!! So much room for running around and chasing birds. My dogs had the best time. Not too crowded, and it’s a bit windy.

Mother’s Day 2020 I took my dog here for his first beach outing. The beach was great and we met a lot of nice dogs and people. However, I was not aware that I would have to negotiate from the street down to the beach on a steep, loose sand trail At 68 with a bad knee. If you are not hill challenged you will enjoy yourself once you get waaay down there.

Our favorite go to place for R&R. My yorkie loves it too and he can run around the beach off leash. It is clean and not crowded.

If you have a dog bring trash bags since the trash cans are on top. Overall its a nice place to let your dog run free since the entry way is the exit way and its a hike to climb. So going off leash on this beach is awesome. I do wish there was a gate but its secure for dogs.

What a beautiful place in general! Doesnt matter if you come to this beach with or without a dog. But the fact that they have such a large portion of the beach specifically for off-leash dogs is fantastic! We also checked out another Beach in San Francisco near Lands End but very small compared to this as far as areas allowed for off-leash dogs! if you have a furry friend that you like to bring along do both of you a favor and stop by here for at least a day.

Very nice and spacious beach. Dogs are allowed and are mostly off leash. Its not too crowded and you can walk further down the beach to have even more privacy.

Great beach for the family and dogs! Were retired and have our grandpups for awhile so we decided to take them out for an adventure! We had so much fun watching them socialize! Trail was not bad going down. Had to stop a few times coming back up but so worth it!

So wonderful for the dogs to be able to run around. Not a lot of people either.

Great beach for you and the furry pups. Just be careful when it comes to getting to far in the water, there is always a strong under tow. Right now the owner of the area is redoing the path going down to the beach, but its still accessable. Low tide is great because there is more sand which makes a bigger area for the pups to play freely. Of course the sunsets are always amazing!

A beautiful beach. Theres a lot of small styrofoam and plastic washing up on shore daily, so please consider bringing a trash bag and lending a hand.

This was perfect place for the fur babies to be able to play and enjoy the beach. My girls made so many friends and enjoyed the ocean ! Sand was warm for us and the water was a nice temperature. Everyone got to relax, it was so much fun new favorite beach!

Great place to let your dog walk without a leash. Best times are during late mornings and lunchtime during the week as theres no one here and you can let your dogs go free. Avoid the weekends as there are too many people to let your dog go without leash.

I was concerned about dog feces being scattered about the beach but it was remarkably clean. Didnt see any dog poos or garbage. It is a nice long beach with plenty of room for every canine and person. People are extraordinarily friendly. Something about having a dog can really break the ice to having a genuine human interaction. I would definitely recommend this beach, Even if you dont own a dog.

Excellent place for dogs. Plenty of free space to go around. Beach is quite safe. Most likely you wont find many people here. Get you beach mat or tent for a fun day with your pup. He/She will remember the day. Beautiful and calm beach. Theres no dust bin on the beach. So you need to make arrangements.

Dog friendly and pretty clean. You have to descend a steep trail & then climb sand dunes to get to the water so bring all you need with you the first trip down.

The bay the breeze fresh ocean I love Pacifica and all north bay SF area. Beautiful northern California bay area. Lived here all my life and still so much to see and do!

Nice place to bring dog for off leash fun! Careful though the path down to beach is super slippery even when dry. Wish the climb wasnt so steep and wish there were bathrooms!

Dog off-leash was awesome! Beautiful. Its a little steep but easy to get down. I was worried it would be slippery dirt but it wasnt. I was in flip-flops and made it just fine. Plus there are stairs toward the bottom. Sand is blackish so can be a bit hot but very pleasant near the water. Amplish street parking... not a lot but not too few either.

This is our new favorite place! Lots of room for zoomies and playing fetch. Great dog beach with no special hours when dogs can be off leash. Not very crowded when weve been but still plenty of pups to play with. One tip: check the tides because the beach gets a bit narrow and shorter when its high.

A huge hike down to the water now after the landslide, not handicap friendly. Very steep loose dirt slope. Beach itself has a short flat beach where the tide comes in and then the waves slam down into a just off the sandbar, not a safe place for dogs to actually swim in the water. Its very clean and stunning views but overall not the best place for a dog park.

Kinda boring walk. The water is maybe not that safe for the dog... Seems to have a strong undertow. I threw a stick out into the water and it didnt come back..

For the most part its awesome. Be aware its a popular fishing spot. Occasionally there is someone on the beach who really does not want dogs running up to them, which is kind of annoying, because its a designated off leash beach after all. Usually the beach itself is pretty clean, but it would be great if people picked up their dogs poop on the switchbacks and along the path by the road above the beach. Super gross to see poo everywhere. Overall still a great spot. Lucky to have this in walking distance.

Beach with access off Esplanade Ave. Beautiful,quiet beach with so much open space to enjoy a long walk or run in peace. Great place to run your dog free. Just make certain you pick up after pet! No water available and trash cans only located street level so pack accordingly. Sunny days more people but never crowded. Only down part the walk back up to go home. That isnt enough to stop me and I hate going uphill. Seeing Whales and dolphins while your at the beach is really special. The switchback trail is located near Oceanaire Apts. and after the empty lots that once had apt buildings. Enjoy this beach but clean up after yourself please
