This is a clean nice place. Great to watch the kids play baseball. When the cafeteria is open its got some good food. Plenty of toys for the kids to play on.
A one size fits all park. The parks and rec. Service staff are great. The ball fields are well done, as well as the 22 shoe pits.. the one missing things are parking in surrounding communies so the Senior pro shoe players can park 5th wheels, the prides Tripp. Half pipe, so skilled skateboard can stop playing in the swimming pool. Lastly the hanging gardens and running Creek into and out of the park . The parks and rec are, I say again great and the community is blessed...
This park is amazing! The playground is huge. I wish I would have taken pictures so I could post them. Its got three very large slides that are great! My daughter had a blast climbing up and sliding down all three of them. Theres a teeter-toter thats fun and sever sit and spin toys. Theres also a large gazebo for sitting and enjoying your lunch with 6 or 7 tables inside. There are two very nice baseball diamonds. A skate area to do stunts whether with a skateboard or roller skates or a truck cycle, theres room to do it all. The concession stand isnt open yet but theres a lot of places all around the park to get something to eat and bring it with you. Theres ample parking on the backside of the park. Handicapped access as well. Great place to take your dogs too but I think you have to keep your dogs leashed here?!! I definitely give this place a dozen thumbs up!
Tons to do! A great park! Love the toy equipment. A nice covered area.
Its a family thing plus skate Park. With a shopping center right next to it. Great place to walk a dog around the ponds. Feeling like playing sports? There is lots of room. Wife and I have enjoyed for many reasons. Just to stop and eat our takeouts.
This park has changed so much, for the better, over the years. It still has horse shoe pits; one of the few that I know of that do. I played here as a young teen. The parking lot is bigger, too. Due to the pandemic, its not busy.
Great family area, has a wonderful playground for the kids and a baseball field plus a bike park around it. Very nice to walk around too
I really liked this park! Theres a duck pond, trails, and cattails, will be going back
As long as it doesnt rain its a great place to play baseball
Very Nice Park! Extremely well maintained! Seriously the Cleanest park I have ever been to!
Has a nice trail to walk or run. A skate park, big fields. Nice park.
Lots of people walking their dogs there. Also some of the area seems to be under a little bit of reconstruction or maintenance work.
Great park alot going on but great park
Nice trails Improved playground & grounds. Skate park for those who enjoy. Also close to Burger King & Safeway
Very nice and clean, well kept park. Very nice ball fields with good parking nearby.
We were an hour early for a Dr appointment & after lunch and a quick Google search & there we were
Clean and nice way to spend your time, watching young people have fun.
Clean, and the playground is one of the better ones ive seen locally!
Great park! When games are held some of the best consession food around!
Dirty, lots of weirdos up and down. Didnt feel too safe even during the day time.
Learned how to skate at the park while it was being built and throughout my childhood until now! great old skatepark and yes indeed a brand new skateboarding plaza would be a great addition to olympia washington or town anywhere. ..
For being right in the middle of the city it makes you feel you arent
The park was clean. Its not in the best of neighborhoods. The kids from the neighboring apartments were threatening fights with each other
Well groomed and not over-peopled. Olympia park district doesnt do well at supplying sunshine .
Great for walking your dogs.
Great little park for kids 12 and under.
Great park. Clean, big, and a huge piece of equipment for kids. Also has several swing sets.
I really like this park. Not only is is close to my apartment. But they have a lot to do for kids and adults.
One of our favorite parks in town. Biggest slides, great variety of equipment for a big age range. Sometimes there seems to be a lack of parental supervision, but generally better than what Ive encountered at some other nearby parks. Bathrooms and even a snack stand during games, nice extra perk for a playground!
This place is fairly safe during the day. There are a lot of smokers, drug users, and people with poor hygiene. So it’s hard to find fresh air at the park and a lot of homeless people live there. They leave their things stashed in the bushes and you can usually find at least one person sleeping in the sun. There’s a camper living there now, they’re in the parking lot all day and parked on the street at night. There’s at least 3 people, 2 dogs, and 5 cats living in that little camper. One of them is a child. I wish CPS and Animal Control would rescue them from these irresponsible adults. I’ve heard others say they’ve seen bullets and drug paraphernalia. There’s always a lot of garbage, litter, and swearing, even by the playground. I won’t go here at night. Supposedly it’s closed but there’s always people there and the drug dealers don’t even get out of their cars, they just meet up in the parking lots. It seems there’s always at least one car running, waiting in the lot, no matter the time of day. We recently watched a van flee from police by driving through the park and along the trail where squirrels and bunnies hang out. Magically, the PD didn’t see them, or didn’t want to. It didn’t really seem like they were trying and a bright van leaving a trail of dust through the park where no cars go is pretty obvious. The police are there a lot but I doubt they’re making much of a difference and I wouldn’t count on them to protect me. They took “to serve and protect” off their cars for a reason.
Nice park for kids dogs or just to enjoy the day
My dogs loved this park....nice walk through the trees
I took my summer camp class (5yrs-10yrs) and we had a blast! The toys are perfect for all those ages and there is even two more big toys for kids younger than 5yrs. We all had so much fun.
Play here every year. They do a decent job of managing the fields for multiple sports and the snack bar has a great selection, plenty of parking and neighborhood is good, good location.
Packed, esp. skate park. Alot of teens causing trouble
People are nice the park is fun to learn to skate with the right folks.
Sunny day with lots of kids and their parents there. I took a carload of kids who enjoyed the excellent, well maintained playground equipment.
Small fun skate park, big horseshoe area. Overall nice park.
I love it.
What a great community park! Awesome play area for kids, plenty of benches for adults, and there are bathrooms, and a covered picnic area, too. I saw a community garden, and athletic fields. We had a good time playing here.
Love the vibe here. Cool wildlife, vegetable gardens, and walking paths. Great atmosphere of community events. Great jungle gym too.
Big well maintained park. Bathrooms, shelter area, trail, nature preserve, large playground and community garden. Theres a lot of homeless attracted to this area unfortunately, which can make you want to stay a little closer to the kiddos
I love it there.
Great spot for kids and adults. Very clean and well kept. Clean bathrooms and lots and lots of space to play.
A great place to feed the ducks this.time of yr. Bring some bread
One of the parkiest parks to park at so you can park :)
Its a park. What can I say.
I love this place! Well lit, clean and a nice playground as well as soccer and baseball fields.
This time of year yauger Park is a fine park with outstanding facilities in a great baseball park a wonderful skate part that also doubles as a BMX track however it should be noted that during the winter time you should be renamed yauger Lake
Clean well lit. Has a community garden.
Watched my 8 year old grandson play baseball for the first time. Field #4 had bleachers, but no overhead cover from the light rain we experienced. We had umbrellas. The view was great. He pitched the last game. Hes got a great arm. Remember his name, Phoenix. He will go far! They WON!!
Need more horseshoes? Can you hardly wait for spring to arrive? Then Yauger Park is your place in Olympia to visit! Just dress warmly with good footwear. A pretty park to explore with few people around in February. Great for a brisk walk and some fresh air. Have the horseshoe pits to yourself!Nice athletic fields and playground area as well. The community garden looks ready for some planting soon. Will be nice to visit later in spring.
Great place for the kids, baseball fields skate park. Could use an outdoor swimming pool.
This facility has soccer and baseball fields. There is a large area of horseshoe pits. Enough to run a tournament of hundreds. They also had a frisbee golf course of which I am not sure of it still existing. The little kids will love the big playground equipment. They have real restrooms which is a plus. There is also a little natural area that had a pond. Not sure if the pond is around during the warmer days. The local skate park is nearly attached and there are restaraunts and fast food, a Safeway grocery store, and a large mall within walking distance. Parking is free.
It was clean and family safe
Dog parks closed so Yauger Park was a good substitute
It is okay to stop for a quick dog walk or to see the ducks. The playground was just upgraded. Mostly for sports fields.
Its a great place to take the family for picnics and other events or just to watch some softball or baseball
I. Family loves this park because it has a lot to offer. Areas for sports to be played, baby swings, baby toys, big kid toys, jogging trails, paved pathways for bikes and wagons, real bathrooms, places to play horse shoes and so much more.
Not a bad park, especially when theres some baseball to watch.
My two boys love this park and there is plenty to do. They have soft ball & baseball there in the Spring & Summer time.
A great park, good variety of age appropriate toys!
Nice place to take kids but there are some rowdy and questionable people here. The picnic shelter is great to escape the heat
Nice Park. Excellent baseball fields-soccer fields. Snack stand has good food.
Great park. Not like the capitol campus. Nice clean kid friendly. Great place to eat lunch and recreate. Close to shopping and hospital . Great afternoon getaway from the hustle and bustle of down town. Nice trails and habitat for fowl and fish. Unusual spot for such a great park! Give it a try!
Very calming and relaxing, lovely. My garden is doing way better than I anticipated. So glad i decided to do this.
Went for bruces softball tournament so the was a lot of people. The park wasnt bad. The fields were keep up but the was more trash than I would have liked but I understand it may have been cuz the amount of people visiting. My son and I really enjoyed how large the playground was. More to do than other parks. I think they could improve in the grass as it was dry and dead and quite patchy.
Very nice park. Tons of horseshoe pits.
Beautiful place for the kids. Easy access
Great stop for anything you want to do. BBQ, play horseshoes, soccer, and baseball! And plenty of play area for the kiddos.
Had a great time visiting with my son Royce and watching he and his team in the special olympics softball finals. Good times!
Great playground for younger kids, slides are taller than most, my daughters and every kid that my girls bring with us love playing there.
Fun for the kids at the park. No sketchy people there either and park was clean.
Ive always thought the main parking lot of this park was under the water since it has that pond next to the parking lot. I was like, why would someone build the parking lot at such and angle where it fills up with water all the time? Then I saw foliage and such growing out of the pond area which I still thought was the parking lot and I was like, Wow, thats mega-triflin, yeah...so um...somebody might wanna get that. Then after closer inspection I saw it was a pond/marshy/walking trail thing. Way to go genius!Anyway, this park has quite a bit of space to do various activities. There is a community garden, nature trails, horseshoe pavilion, a playground with newer looking and safe looking equipment whereas your children may not get tetanus playing on it, playing fields for baseball & soccer. You really can get a workout here. There also is a food kitchen that appears to be were they service hot dogs and such when there are baseball games. What kind of sucks is that parking lot that I mentioned earlier is always closed it seems when I come. There is another parking lot behind an apartment complex next to the community garden so dont worry if that other lot is closed. There also seemed to be a lot of construction behind the park, so Im not sure whats going on there. I will say that this park seems decently safe, but maybe not at night and maybe not in the bathroom when the main doors are closed. The bathrooms kind of look like a haven for the homeless so be careful. And who knew Olympia had a Horseshoe club? I was like what the what? Anyway, cool park.
Great park except for finding needles around the bike pump track. Graffiti is out of control in that area as well. I think the area needs to be cleaned up and lit up at night. The baseball fields and play area are great though.
We call it Rocket park because it has the big play structure shaped like a rocket. This visit we were at the Dirt Works for the annual plant sale - one of my favorite days of the year.
Cool place. Skate park, basketball half court, community garden, compost learning school, covered and partially enclosed area with picnic tables, play ground and baseball diamond. This park has a lot going on.
I love this Park! Wonderful pond-things, ducks, ball fields, playground, restrooms, and tons of space. Great for a relaxing afternoon walk!
I like to sit and watch there, many crows live there and ducks to feel could do without the floods at times but it is nice and big and your never bored skaters, childrens play ground, and big field to sometimes watch games. There is an older tree there that is my secret spot In the summer
Im not a fan of the playground, it seems rather dangerous for little kids. However Yauger is a nice place for picnics or playing ball games. Also feeding/observing the ducks is always fun with the kids.
Nice park. My older kids liked it.
Went to the state tourny here. Nice spot 5 fields. Plenty of grass to set up a spot. Tons of horseshoe pits
Very wet, drizzely day, but enjoyable surroundings
Great trail to walk around and lots of choices for eateries nearby
No one ever there
Its great! We enjoy it a lot.
Beautiful clean & well kept park. If the concession stand is open, you must try the garlic fries!
Good parking and an amazing play structure for the kids make this a great place to stop and stretch your legs on your way through Olympia - as my cousin we visited with has learned.
We were there for a fastpitch tournament. I was highly impressed with the park staff and how they maintain the ball fields. Great food options too at the concession stand. Great place for a tournament!
Love this Park!Walk it always......You have got to see it for yourself. You will be smiling like I do.
Son liked the playground. Grass could be better maintained but not bad
The playground has plenty for the kids to do, has plenty of seating, and theres large covered eating area. The restrooms are really nice for a public park, and there are several baseball diamonds where little League games are played. My son also loves walking around the pond thats near the parking lot, and watching the ducks. In recent years the city has done a very good job of cleaning up the area. Unfortunately they had to take out the wooded trails around the park to do it, but at least I dont have to be so worried about used needles laying around all over the place. All in all its a great park for kids, or for large gatherings.
Excellent..qood for a Quick walk, small drone fly.
Kids had a blast. Skate park is pretty well built and fun to shred.
It was a fun day at the park nice as always. Not too many people and toys are big and fun to play on.
