Great place. Animals seem pretty well cared for and the people are nice
Honestly, Im quite disappointed. My family called two weeks ahead and confirmed the week prior to have a small birthday party. We were told over the phone that we would be able to do pony and or camel rides (the biggest reason we even chose the place) to get there and be told that they didnt have anyone to do the rides. While that was almost enough alone to pack up, everyone had driven over an hour from several locations just to be there and we figured the kids could still have some fun. Well, the picnic area (despite several other feasible locations) was in the middle of the yard with goats, mini horses and a spitting Llama! There were flies everywhere and it smelled terrible in a spot where people are supposed to be able to eat! The swing set was literally falling apart to the point where we didnt let the kids get on it because we were concerned for their safety. They had no idea about vitamin d needs for their reptiles and the Arctic fox was in direct Florida sun baking in its cage. Their kangaroo didnt look like it was feeling well at all, but most of their animals did look cared for. The majority of their animals were goats but they had alot of other pretty cool animals too. The biggest cow Ive ever seen. Overall, although there were some obvious negatives, my kid and the kids in my group enjoyed the animals. I will say they need more volunteers and dont picnic or bday party there. Definitely dont expect follow through on pony or camel rides even if they confirmed that they would be doing them. Oh and you may or may not get a train ride. We didnt because it was broken down/battery issues.
This is a small zoo but very well kept. All of the animals were very well socialized and friendly. All enclosures were clean. Because of Covid there were some things that were closed but it was still a nice experience.
Inexpensive petting zoo with wonderful staff and amazing animals! 10/10 recommend for weekend fun! Will definitely go back!
The Best Most Spacious ZOO !!I LOVE How they have set up the animals in the barn and outside the barn and Im in love with ALL the animals except that one ...just one ..that spits .. Omg I wasnt ready for that.... No wonder hes in the way back of the zoo.. .BUT ! Either way Ill be back.and I will be putting footage of this awesome place on my YOUTUBE ChannelKristines 4Seasons.
Poorly ran. Animals not cared for properly. Some animals seemed a bit snippy if not overtly aggressive and with young children this is not acceptable.Poor horses looked awful. Most other animals were in ok conditions but definitely not sustainable for a happy or healthy life.
My 5 year old loved seeing all the different animals. They have goats, cows, monkeys, kangaroos, ducks, chickens, lizards, snakes, racoons, different types of monkeys, artic fox, and so much moreWhat would have made this experience much better though is if they would have had signs showing us where what was. I didnt find out about more animals in the play/ eat area until last which is where you can walk-in and actually play with the goats. There are andom ant hills everywhere which made it hard but besides that and the spiderwebs.... It was a fun experience. All the animals were very well trained and very gentle. And its cheap 4 out of 5 stars for me
Good family outing. The animals looked sad and hot...Grandson was able to get under the gate to one of the animal enclosures. Wasnt the pumpkin patch but made an acceptable alternative.
Not bad place had fun feed the animals emus are hard to feed. I love the place but please put some grass in the mini horses enclosure. and please take the emu out of the cage with the lama they where hostile towards each other.
The animals are not groomed. The hoofs on some animals are curling! They have clearly never had a dentist to check animals. Gave it two stars because my 4 year old loved feeding them, the animals were gentle to feed for the most part. Would not recommend, even if you are terribly bored. 10 dollars a person is NOT worth it.
Love this place!,cute animals rude spitting llama but he did not at all ruin my experience ! Will return again soon the people are so nice!!
So many different animals to see. Family budget friendly. Love the owner. Something for the whole family!
Cool place to bring the kids... fun feeding the animals in there cage... safe environment
I’m a person who read all the bad reviews before thinking on going to the place but my little son was so excited to go petting animals btw my husband was doing mountain bike that i accepted to went there with my 2 sons. I thought i would be so disappointed after all the bad reviews i read but that was an amazing experience! We fed a lot of animals but our favorite were the goats because you can go into their stable to feed and pet them. My recommendation is to put the i bite sign where the stable starts because we didn’t know that the ponny can bite us and we were feeding it and when we walked to the middle of the stable it was where the sign was. After that we love our experience there. We recommend this place!
RUDE employee taking money. The goats were cute. Hi price for basically a goat farm.
Seemed lacking staff to assist customers . One mini pony needed feet trimmed, hooves so long she couldnt walk. Im sure with being closed down for covid they are lacking funds to care for the place .Nice selection of animals and fairly clean for a petting zoo. Animals are extremely hot and so was the visit there. There were no water misters for the animals or visitors. I would still go again.
Took our daughter here today! She had a blast feeding on the animals and she went on a pony ride! I recommend bringing hand sanitizer they didnt have any just 1 sink. They have a cooler with beverages in it at the end.
Went 2 days in a row! My granddaughter loves it! Pony and camel rides. Clean, safe, fun! You dont leave smelling like animals. There animals are well taken care of, friendly and clean!! Love it there! I cant wait for my granddaughter to come back!
Both big and little kids love it!
Great little petting zoo! Low cost and we all had a good time! A bunch of different animals to interact with and see. And fun fact, all the animals at this place are rescues. So definitely a good cause while youre enjoying some cute animals.
Maybe put someone old enough to identify a child under 3 yrs of age. I was unaware my daughter got in free and they charged her as an adult
Cute place to come to!! Love the goats!!
The petting zoo was cute and the animals were friendly. We came when it had just opened so it wasn’t crowded which made for a nice time as we could linger around the zoo without being on top of other people. I had called the day before asking for pricing for children & adults, but when arrived the young girl in orange at the counter said only 2 and under were free. Because my son had turned 2 today he wasn’t free and I had to pay $8 for him. I found that misleading considering 2 AND UNDER means children 2 years of age and below should be free. If that’s the case the sign should read 1 and under. All in all the trip cost $53.00 to visit the park.
My god son had an awesome time with his new friend and towards the end finally touched a goat
At first this place seemed nice, but once you get further in and start to really look at the animals, they are living in poor conditions. Animals are overheated. No fans. Minimal water for multiple animals to share. Matted hair on the horses and goats and camels. The smallest horse in florida is not standing properly because the hoofs were so overgrown. The reptiles are EXTREMELY HOT and too large for the terrariums they live in. They were extremely agitated and running in circles while we were in there (I have videos). SOMEONE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO BE RECEIVING A REPORT TO THE AUTHORITIES.
Great place to take the kids so they can feed the animals.
Had a good time with my family, small place and nice. Prices are okay, they had camel rides and elephant rides. The dog show was funny and cute.
A unique place to see many animals to get up close, photograph with them and feed them.
This place is good for young children, we had a great time until I saw the two miniature horse. I couldnt believe how large their hovles were from lack of care, both of them were barely able to walk. they also have a handicap duck. The poor duck was sitting on its belly in 90 degree weather with its legs sprawled out to each side unable to move. Very sad. We wont be going back
Very kid friendly. Didnt have to worry about the animals jumping on the kids since we were able to feed through the fences.
A great experience for all ages. Lots of healthy animals welcome you with bleats, baas and gobbles. Open air, clean and fun.
Love the animals. Fun for kids!!
Lots of friendly animals and staff members. We had a great time petting the goats and the gigantic cow!
Love this cute place workers are friendly and the animals are so cute and friendly took my 2 girls there and they loved it.
It was ok. I thought that the animals looked very hot. They needed more water and more ways to cool off. I saw water but when you looked out in the fields they were so hot you felt so bad for them. Also I did not did not like I was in someones back yard. But wait I was. I really hope the money I paid really went to those animals. Because $30.00 for 3 people and $10.50 for a bag of feed was a lot. We went because it said petting zoo. Did not feel like one. Unless you were feeding them. But there was one goat... He was pretty friendly.. He got out of the fence and was saying hi to us.
Was not impressed with the conditions the animals were kept in.Cow was in a horrendously dirty stall and covered in flies.Pig bit my finger and its now infected, all other animals were friendly though!!Mini horses have sores on their faces from constant harness wearing/ too tight harnesses, no fly spray for them either!! Open sores with flies landing in them is a no no!!
Was kind of a disapointment, we drove all the way there for our daughter to ride the pony, turned out they werent doing the pony ride that day, the animals were not to accessible, trying to give my daughter a good time at least we tried to ride the water slide and was told we had to pay again for a different bracelet in order to do that, we couldnt afford another braclet, so ward kinda a huge let down, sorry to be a negative view guys im just being honest.
We paid nearly $50 for our family of five to go to the Ocala petting zoo and it wasn’t worth it. Lots of animals to feed but Uncle Donald’s Farm near The Villages is better. We were done Ocala in about 30 minutes and stayed to watch the world’s worst puppet show, The Punch and Judy Show. There was a puppy pirate show that was better but that’s a visiting performer so I’m not sure she’s always there. We recommend skipping this spot unless you’re really desperate for family entertainment.
That place is so much fun ! Bunch of animals... The goats r the coolest lol love goats. We had a great time there. For only $8 entrance its absolutely worth it. Get a bag of feed for $2 to feed the animals...
Feed animal. Great value!!
It is small but I think that makes for a perfect size. The goats are out walking around which makes the experience even better. The Emus are fun to feed. And it was all at a good price! I would reccomend this place to anyone.
I love the Petting zoo of Ocala. More exotic animals now. Relaxed, unhurried atmosphere. Babies in the spring. Goats and pigs will get your pellets, but dont forget to feed the biggest cow and see the smallest horse in Florida.
This place is so much fun and the owners are so sweet and caring animals are well loved and cared for even with not much help they all work hard to make it work best place to visit in ocala you must visit any time you can i will be back being a city boy it was always my dream to pet a black and white cow and it came true i was trying hard and was discouraged cause i could not get cow to come over so i can pet him so told the owner who so sweet my dream and she show me a trick to make it work so I was trying to feed the cow by hand but he wasnt responding because hes used to seeing a bucket that means hes going to get a lot of food so she gave me a bucket and showed me how to make him come close to the gate therefore I was able to pet him for a long time me and my son awesome experience these people here are great the animals are great its just a great place to be
Great little place to go especially with kids!
I was nervous when we pulled in. It didnt look as nice as the website, but we actually had a great time. Buy food to feed the animals. Thats what makes the experience fun.
They really need to take care of their babys and stop making excuses
A great little escape w the family! Learned that most of the animals are rescued!
Feeding the animals is so much fun!
Fun and the animals were well cared for.
The animals were filthy and looked very unhealthy. I felt sad and angry that the place was very unkempt. Their pet dog who greeted us was undernourished. I cannot believe they would charge $10 admission and disappoint the people so much. I will call animal cruelty to investigate.
My daughter had a blast! We went on a week day during the day and it wasnt packed and the animals were all friendly
Small but very knowledgeable and employees not so enthusiastic about being there
Had the best day with grandkids and daughter.
Friendly and professional staff. The place is very clean, they have a lots of different animals and shows. The place is not too big or small but decent size. This was our first visit and will come back again. Thank you guys for all you do.
Nice place to interact with the various animals.
Was super fun to pet the animals^_^ even though the Llama was a jerk lol
My grandson had a wonderful time here. It was nice.
Animals kept in tight quarters. It was depressing to see the animals captive in high Florida heat. Sad place...
Awesome! Be sure to get the big bag of feed...
Fun little place to visit!
We had a good time, their bearded dragons looked a little sad but the other animals seemed well cared for. It was fun.
Fantastic time.the owner was so nice,
Very nice people and had a great time. I hope I can take my daughter back again some day soon. Thank you for the visit!
Our kids had a great time.
Small but good for kids
I visited Ocala Petting Zoo with my two grandsons, ages 1 1/2 and 3 1/2. We stayed just over 2 hours and had a lovely time. The animals are behind fences and are very friendly. It was a perfect place to visit. The adults have fun, too.
Cute zoo, small but friendly. They had an area where you can go into the pen with goats, etc. Pretty cool!
This place is amazing. Very farm, country feel. Little playground too!
Cool fun place for the little ones my 4 year son loved it.
First of all, we enjoyed seeing the animals! We had a good time. Its just all of the animals had very filthy water & very little hay. We felt bad for them & fed them like crazy! There were lots of huge red ant piles everywhere! Have to be careful. We do want to visit again..just hoping that staff will step it up.
Great for kids, they can feed the animales and pet them.
Wow! We visited the so this morning and were quite surprise by everything! They have a variety of animals available for view and interaction, very clean facilities and a polite and professional staff. A must visit for animal enthusiasts, families and individuals. If you dont like large crowds then I suggest you visit on weekdays. Give it a visit soon!
Love love this place....
It was very cute. Animals were all so friendly along with all the humans.
Soooo much fun! My boys loved it. We had a great time here seeing the animals. Cosmo is hilarious!!!
I have a 1.5 and 3.5 year old. We had a lot of fun. The animals are friendly and well cared for. The farm is clean and the environment is comfortable. I do feel like the cost is a little much for your run-of-the-mill petting zoo...we paid almost $40 for entrance + a bag of feed (and thats with the smaller kid being free entry). It costs less to go to the zoo in Gainesville and the petting zoo is included there. So we had fun, but we probably wouldnt come back. One thing that put a huge damper on my visit was that they have a swing set that sits out in the yard for small children to play on. OF COURSE my kids wanted to swing for a while, and I would have let them; but because it was uncovered, the swings were BLISTERING hot. My kids threw little tantrums and begged for me to cool the swings down for them.... Thats not the fault of the farm, I just think they could do with a little cover there to keep the kids from getting hurt when they tackle the play equipment full speed.
Unexpectedly fun. The kids loved feeding the animals
Awesome little place
The Zoo areas are clean and well maintained. We didnt stay long due to the heat but really enjoyed it all. Very healthy looking animals.
Took our granddaughter there right at 10am. She loved it I even enjoyed feeding the animals. We were there an hour. Definitely will go again. Took my 2 daughters and granddaughter again for the 2cd time and we had fun once again feeding the animals.
Pretty cool, quiet a few animals. Grandson loved it
Very nice humble place.. You can feed most of the animals && ride a pony, Camel & train KIDS ONLY ;) very nice what they are doing for these pets.. & its nice knowing the money they get goes to them... Always a plus....
A little run down. Staff was nice though and the animals were very friendly.
It was a decent place to take the kids to see some animals. However it was pretty run down with no staff around besides the ticket person. Animals were friendly though and came up to see everyone walking around. It was a little pricey for being that run down, but we didnt mind the cost since they had so many animals to see.
We had a blast today. My daughter fell in love with the goats and the bunnies. I seen a lot of people complain (in the reviews) of the pricing, but $10 for adults and $8 for children isn’t all that bad. Paid $4.50 for a big bag of feed that lasted us the entire time.
Took my son here today (3/7/2020) so sad. Almost all the animals were coughing and it looked as if their hooves had never been cared for! SO SAD! Will be reporting to animal control.
Very nice place to go l had fun
Absolutely amazing. The animals were super friendly and well taken care of. My niece had a blast watching the chickens!
I love this place! When I went there were tons of baby goats and sheep. You can pet and feed just about everything there. You can even pet a wallaby. I highly recommend visiting at least once if you like animals. I was feeling blue but just coming here brightened my day. I’ll definitely visit again.
Not worth the money. Very few chances to pet more than goats... the cool animals were all locked up and there was no one around to help. When I did see someone she just told me the wallaby was not in her pen... I asked will we be able to see her and the response was nope. For a petting zoo you get to pet goats. Everything else is kept out of reach and out of site in the case of the day I was there.
We enjoyed it for the most partSome enclosures were not the best for the animals in my opinionThey had so much dirt and like no grass or plants for them to eat onOther than that it was okayNo bathrooms just porta potties
Took our grandbaby here today. Everyone was friendly. Very clean and relaxed atmosphere. We were able to see and feed many animals. We were a little nervous feeding the emus, hold your hand flat.... They know what theyre doing. Get a big bag of food if you want to have enough to feed all of the animals :) We had a great time! Worth the drive for us. Thanks so much!
Their claim to fame are a pair of mini horses that they say are the smallest in Florida. They are skinny skinny skinny did I mention skinny and in desperate need of a trim. Several other animals have halters growing into their skin, and are in need of proper feed
