Extremely well cared for manufactured home community. Gwen the manager there was so helpful, you could tell she cared about this community. It was refreshing to find people that were as kind and knowledgeable as Gwen and the park maintenance man David. They were both vested in the community. It has me seriously thinking about purchasing in Oak Bend community.

I needed to edit my previous review on Oak Bend a community of the ELS due to the experience I had there today, as a matter of fact. My parents bought a home there a few years back and have enjoyed living there as I have enjoyed visiting. The staff and residents have always been friendly, helpful and extremely welcoming. I called my mother on Friday knowing the office would be closed Saturday and Sunday because I needed a parking pass to utilize the over flow parking area. When I arrived, I placed the pass in the left hand side of the windshield and parked my van in the overflow area. Please notice the two pictures of the parking pass. This evening while on a walk I noticed a bright green sticker on my newly tinted and cleaned back windows I tried to take it off to read it but due to the hot Florida sun most of the adhesive WILL not come off without ruining the speciality coating please see the pictures of both my back windows and is directly in my field of vision so impossible to back up without the fear of hitting something. The green sticker that is hindering my ability to drive in reverse without someone guiding me is a TOWING NOTICE for not having a valid parking pass!!!! Please see pics of the notice. Did someone NOT look in my windshield to see if there was a pass there?? Did someone just ride around and slap a towing notice on my back windows without taking the time to check my windshield?? I am aghast!! I wanted to purchase in this community next year when I was in the right age range but if my visitors are at risk of damage to their vehicles if overflow is used..then why should I??? Why would anyone???

Been here almost two years full-time. Lived in many places in my life. This place is special as Im retired. The office is open and any issues may be brought to the attention of HOA. The weather helps us more than we admit.

Nice clean safe place to live. Not a huge bundle of activities. Same old, same old. Finally getting sound wall installed along I75. Can still hear traffic but better. Nothing bad but nothing great.

I have been here for 5+ years now. Was nice at first but the noise has increased quite a big since they took out the forest in the back and put in more homes, you really can hear I75 now and the sound barrier wall does not help and I live towards the front. If you dont mind loud motorcycles and cars going by with theyre music blaring then you will love it and Im from the city. Could almost be compared to an all ages community.

The noise from I75 is unbearable! Management says you’ll get used to it, but you never will! Hard to sleep at night with the vehicles and trucks making loud noises driving by. If you want to live by I-75, go ahead and buy. But it’s one of the many reasons we moved out. Another reason is that the swimming pool is always down. ELS, the property owners have not put any money back into the park since the 80s. Everything there is worn down and worn out: Streets, street signs, clubhouse, pool - everything. We now heard Oak Bend is building a sound-proof barrier by I-75, but don’t believe it until you see it. ELS never makes improvements to this place.

We searched many of the retirement communities such as Oak Run, Palm Cay along with many other residential retirement communities in the Ocala area. We also searched many of the retirement mobile home communities as well. After searching for over two and a half while years while we were waiting to turn to the age of 55, (while at the same time, living in the Ocala area), we come across some beautiful homes that were for sale for very reasonable prices in this community of Oak Bend.We absolutely love this park! We are so glad that we did not turn 55 two years ago, for I am sure that we would have been living elsewhere.
