Great park for families. Short trails are a good fit for our toddler. Coronavirus means the playground and picnic areas are closed and the lake is also closed I think for coronavirus as well as algae issues. They seem to be trying to fix the latter. Well-maintained park and a good amount of space to distance from everyone.

Love the local city, county, and state parks here in CA! They never disappoint and are always well maintained, aesthetically appealing, and worth every minute spent in them. Temescal Regional Park is no expectation. Conveniently located off the 24 fwy with trails, grass fields, a lake, beaches and picnic areas. This is a wonderful to come hang just a few minutes from Oakland and Berkeley!

People seemed very considerate about passing single file to allow adequate space, pulling up masks when nearing other people, not jogging close to you panting. Swimming area closed for now (6/24/20). Pretty park for a walk with dog/friends.

Beautiful park, on summer its the perfect spot for getting sun, talk with friends and dance but in the evening it starts to smell not so nice and some mosquitos around, so I suggest you to leave a little after sunset.

The regional rec area is truly a jewell. A very different ambiance to the bustling city, this park has a serene feel. I jogged the perimeter, half is nice and paved hills, the other half has a rugged gravel to make it a good struggle.

Nice park in Oakland, very well taken care of and perfect for a day activity.Came here a couple times when staying on east bay at a friends house. The park has plenty of picnic tables and a lake if you want to go to a swim or kayaking. Definitely recommend for a day activity not too far from the city.

Great place for picnic or dog walk. Lake can get algae blooms in the summer, but winter water is cleaner and air is fresh.

Br
Review №43

Very well maintained and quaint park. lots of tables and picnic areas along with a small section of beach you can sit along. you can go swimming but I would highly recommend against it unless you check the water contamination that day. Oakland has had several sewage spills that overflow to this location. If youre going for a picnic or a walk its a great park but take the swimming elsewhere.

I work through out Oakland and love whenever Im near this park fir my lunch break. There is a nice hiking trail that goes around the lake with a decent little bit of elevation change. I have never been swimming there but they have a sandy beach and all the amenities. There is also two playgrounds one on either end of the lake.

Lake Temescal located up in the hills in Oakland is a great place to hike, picnic and fish. Walking around the lake I discovered a small waterfall by the beach. I noticed a lot of dog walkers, so its pretty dog friendly. There are plenty of places to host cookouts, youll see picnic tables, and grills on site. Public restrooms were rural, clean, but still an outhouse. This gets five stars for pure enjoyment anyone gets coming here, great place to go with family or friends.

Love this place. Its a great place to walk through or have a picnic. It gets busy in hot weekends or holidays so plan accordingly. Or just dont go at all. More room for me. They have a small man made beach but its often closed due to the algae that grows there, or whatever its called.

Great picnic spot, lots of amenities like grilling areas and coal disposal bins, good restrooms, and the water has beautiful wildlife, kids had great fun looking at ducks, minnows and dragonflies. The lifeguard patrolled beach has a fee, and the water did not look really appealing for swimming - lots of algae.

Not well developed for visitors. Pretty much a tiny lake/park just for locals. The paths are narrow, so whatever youre doing, you have to take it slow. Probably ok for seniors, anyone actively athletic would risk injuring others. The lake itself was nasty.
