Eastshore Park- nestled on the shores of Lake Merritt in Oakland - is best for kids 2-8, and we visited today with our 2 and 6-year olds, and their cousins who are 5 and 8, wanting to squeeze in a visit with all four kids before my 8-year old nephew outgrew it.
Whats up with the restroom lock down.Perhaps we need to bring our own.
Love the new swings and play area here
Great place for views of the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate bridge when is not Foggy out. Great place to look for Birds and watch Birds.Great place to catch TICKS when the Grass is High.
Beautiful park for hanging out. dont miss the weekly drum circle!
Its avery nice place to walk around.. On the side there is a park and a large field to walk the dogs or even to take a nice relaxing break on the grass.
Its kinda dirty from alot of bird poop but it was a nice family outing
A little close to car traffic. Lots of fun things for little kids. Crowded on evenings and weekends.
Nice little playground for the kids. This place along with the lake is always busy. My son had a good time playing and observing folks.
It was a good location to find this new dentist in that area I need to get to for my denture clinic appointment and the 57 bus line was 15 minutes late but I was able to make it
We have the best parks in California
I love the lake. This area was much better before the gentrification and new comers came. Now it gets too crowded.
Its cool place to walk or take a jog
Beautiful and long established City park; beautul views
Nice.
Like a holiday in Marsh Manicured Beauty...
Since 1964 has always admired the lake in the middle of town great walking path.
Been going to Lake Merritt sense I was young, even in elementary going to Santa fe, my basketball team would have to run it. Now I smoke and chill there.
Love to go see my boy dummerboy Aaron on Saturday and take the kids to the park on Sundays
Always a good experience
My son enjoyed the slides, benches and lots of field and all the variety of children to play with.
Good place to meet up with family and friends. Also bring your children to the park
Nice walk..
The lake area in Oakland is the best.People really enjoy themselves and everyone seem to love the view and scenery .
Love this park but it’s in a super busy surrounding.
Beautiful, lovely, and nice..
Ribs were dry and mashed potatoes tasted funny.
My favorite walk in OAKLAND
Whatever you do.. dont go in the bathroom
Wealth, wealth & more wealth
Its cool
It was fun
Always lively
Only for people they know how play .
Weird homeless people frequented
Center of Lake Merritt with drummers, dancers and food vendors on the weekends
Nice
We love
Very pleasant.
Wishthere was more toddler structures and more swings, but I love this park!
Green and relaxing.
Theres often people gathered here doing interesting things. Im talking circus performers, slack lining, juggling. Drum circles. Crap like that.
The playground is fine, but the real draw (at least for my kids) is the plethora of gnarled little trees that line the lakeshore here - perfect height for the pre-K set. Just keep them well-spotted, as theres a five foot drop down to the rocky shore of the lake.
Perfect hidden gem
Sunday fun day
Went to see my grandson, had a good visit and enjoyed the sunshine
Great place for kids.
For the Record - This is and will always be Astro Park. Sorry but who ever renamed this Eastshore park made a mistake. Who does this even happen? #newoakland
