Theyve really I.proved this place from what it used to be. For years it was just a dirt pile surrounded by orange barriers and lost of homeless people. Now theyve laid out grass, put up a kids playground and just made that whole side of the lake beautiful. I walk through often with my dog and I always see people having family get togethers and having a great time! Im so grateful they finished up all the landscaping around the lake because its such a great addition to the city to attract more people.

Wow what a transformation. Lived about a block away from 2000-2010. Used to be a pretty lackluster place full of homeless, dopeheads, and the best thing I ever saw was two guys blowing each other on a bench in the middle of the day for everyone to see. Great little park now with a nice playground and new grass.

Not really enforcing the no kids no entry rule. Its hard to enjoy a park that cant regulate the amount of gross grown homeless men just loitering on the bench near the bathroom looking like straight human garbage while watching little children play. When we left the playground with the other kids and parents so did the bum. Regulate your new park OAKLAND!!! It used to be a hobo encampment

The new park is great. Theres a space for the toddler and one for the older kids. The concrete surrounding the structure has a rubber consistency which is ideal as kids love to have fun and hopefully helps with minimally injures.Plenty of grass space to have lunch and amazing view. This is definitely an upgrade and they redid the small putt grass!Coming back soon to eat lunch and watch my son play. Plus use the adult size seesaw .

Oak Parks & Rec did a great job renovating that park! Congrats - since it has a tiny putting green to practice your hole in one I hope the community takes care of that. Could be easy to get all torn up especially when folks were using it today to swing a golf club that included letting thelr dogs run around on that circle of turf. Nice job overall OPR, keep it up!

Now that the City of Oakland had refurbished the park by creating new landscaping, walkways, bench seating and a childrens park the incredibly lush, enormous and ancient trees there now have the proper showpiece setting. Snow Park is lovely now and I suspect its beauty would be further enhanced by 4 inches of snow in the winter.

Review pending until the extensive enhancements to the park have been unveiled.Check back in a bit.I wanted to update my review to share the exciting news that the renovations on the Park have been completed. The park looks wonderful. Theres an awesome new playground there which I hope Oaklands youth enjoy for many years to come. Some may express concern that the park has, in the past few years, become a place of last refuge for homeless people. Thats is indeed a shame which requires a response on a societal level.I hope ias we go forward, there arent conflicts in the park around the new facilities and the possible return of unsheltered individuals, especially those individuals who suffer from mental health issues.Call this wish simplistic but-- I hope the kids who enjoy this refurbished park and new playground-- have experiences which can contribute to joyful childhoods-- and hence are spared mental health problems in later years.

LOVELY SNOW PARK IS ONE OF MYMOST FAVOURITE PLACES TO RELAX AND RECHARGE.THE CURRENT RENOVATIONS ILLUSTRATE HOW FABULOUS IT WILL BE UPON COMPLETION. MY ONE BIT OF APPREHENSION IS DUE TO THE HOMELESS, THATWILL MOVE BACK IN. THIS IS A TRAVESTY.I DO NOT DENIGRATE HOMELESS ONES IN GENERAL. HOWEVER, THE VAST MAJORITY ARE WILLFULLY HOMELESS, REFUSING ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THEYHAVE AN AVERSION TO BEING RESPONSIBLE.ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, THERE ARERULES TO BE ADHERED TO.I AM A USMC COMBAT VETERAN; I FELL UPON HARD TIMES AFTER BEING DISENGAGED FROM THE CORPS. I WAS HOMELESS FOR A BRIEF PERIOD; AFTER SEEKING ASSISTANCE, I AM STABLE AGAIN SO, I HAVEACTUALLY BEEN THERE, I AM NOT PONTIFICATINGUPON SOMETHING THAT I HAVE LITTLE OR NO DIRECT EXPERIENCE WITH.I MOST FERVENTLY WISH SNOW PARK THE ABSOLUTE BEST
