Trails are clean and its an easy walk! My puppy has loved this park since she was tiny. Haha. Theres also this little field where people usually let their pups off to play fetch!
Nice neighborhood park with open spaces. Access to Sausal creek trail. Usually clean and always feels safe.
A beautifully maintained park with LOTS of local wildlife and plants. The creek was recently replanted with native plants and is beautiful to sit by and listen to. There’s a pool, basketball courts, a playground, picnic tables, and lots of lawn to play games on. There’s also a walking trail through the woods deeper in. This is a hot spot to play Pokemon Go! Theres gyms and stops in abundance.
I grew up going here I use to catch turtles at the creek. My family has BBQs here and I still do too. Great park still
Took the trail along the dry river bank and then back along the old canyon trail. It was tough for my 3 year old, but my 5 year old had no problem. Cool, adventurous trail.
Lovely trails and lush forest. It feels so peaceful and almost magical! Narrow track, though, so a bit harder to social distance, but not at all crowded.
Dimond Park is filled with shade from the trees, a nice breeze flowed under them. There are three play areas, a pool, tennis court, basketball court, a little soccer field, trails, picnic areas with a lot of sitting and the center. There were a couple events happening at the park. One was a group doing yoga, a church had service and youth selling home baked goods.
I dont use the park, just the pool. Still not improved for lap swim signup. Poor landscape maintenance too. Bums parking in the new blue zone, which was unnecessary anyway.
Super cute park, even has legit hiking trails
Nice open space, family friendly park.
Great park, family atmosphere!
The kids love it tons of fun in the jungle gym and it has a nice hike and tail for adults to enjoy.
Well established trees, grassy areas, tennis courts doing areas, benches, shade, walking paths, and easy access. Keep dogs on leash. Clean up after your pets. Pick up your litter. Enjoy a good variety of plants in the part as well as the quaint unique nearby neighborhoods. Keep an eye out for the homeless encampment tucked away behind the upper east end thicket of trees and brush.
Nice place to go have a picnic. You can take tour kids on the little joke trails really fun!
I really like this park it has more than 1 different sections for different age groups. And they have a trail that you hike on and the things you see are kinda cool it seems like it goes on forever. You should totally check it out and you can bring your dogs too . Down below is a picture of the creek that you see while hiking.
Lovely. A great trail with a natural creek is available. Its like a paradise in the middle of the urban jungle.
What made my visit wonderful, is celebrating my Dads birthday with my family. Unfortunately, the park need upkeep and a garbage man to come every day
A very nice Park. Very spacious, and enjoyable. I will come back again.️
Ive been coming here for a long long time. Its where my son learned to ride a bike.
Be careful, the bees are aggressive.
Great weather great vibes
Wonderful views AND family friendly....During the spring you can actually catch views of trout in the stream
My favorite place as a kid. The upgrade are the bomb the park is!! backside dirty sometimes from the people hanging out at night.Park is beautiful!!
Best park in oakland
Its so beautiful and peaceful
Another green area in Oakland. Three play structures for kids, the river, a large lawn with magnificent trees. There is a pool. I havent discovered the all thing yet, I think there is a nice walk to do upper. Great for a beautiful afternoon.
Really good swiming po and swim team. As well good place to gl walking by your self or with some one or with a dog.
Nice picnic areas. Lots of school kids for field trips. Fixing up the pool area. Nice bathroom area. Huge grassy area for dogs. Nice baby swings. Sand pit but looks like it needs some new sand.
Plenty of space and a nice kosher environment for children
Pretty neighborhood park adjacent to a few nice brunch spots in Oaklands Dimond District. The park has the perfect short stroll after brunch/tacos etc. There are a couple of small playgrounds, too (toddler and older kid sized).
Beautiful and fun. It also has some fun urban art amidst the beautiful Vines and trees. It is fairly shaded.
A large, well-liked and used park. Theres two different kids play areas, several different picnic areas, a pool and rec center.Bathrooms (very important!)Well kept up.Most important, has the remains of the oldest oak tree in Oakland as its centerpiece (500 years as of 2015). Stop by and pay your respects sometime if youre a real Oaklander!
Had a great time nice, open and very relaxing
Beautiful place ️
Diamond Park is a jewel found in the middle of Oakland. It has parking, tennis courts, several childrens play structures and a pool. Running through the park is Sausal Creek. Also has trails for a nice walk. Also has picnic tables and barbeque grills.
Very spacious! looked full but there are a lot of open free spaces to relax and do you.
Love this park! The pool, as of this posting, is being renovated, but the park is a welcome Oasis in a dense urban landscape. Their are bathrooms that actually get cleaned. Walk past the basketball courts to the swings and monkey bars and continue past and youll find a charming path along a flowing hidden creek walk. Enjoy!
Lots id wonderful space. Cool play structures. Usually plenty of other kids to play with and could use a little more up keep in terms of the leaves and lawn grooming.
Love this space. Huge neighborhood park. Great toddler play structure. Lots of grass and trees. Lovely for a nice lace to play with the kids or to take a walk.Weird rules surrounding having gatherings. We attempted to have our daughters bday party at the park. wasnt allowed to sit and have food in the grass becaise we needed to pay for a permit. And when we did the permit only covers having food at the rables. I warn you there is NO shade for picnic tables. 85 degrees in the direct sun. In the end just dont try to have an event here.
I love taking my daughter here. It was a perfect place to have my daughters 1st birthday
Very relaxing to my mind, Nice walk aroundBring your dog.
Love Dimond Park, it is so close to my house. Beautiful green space, with towering redwoods. Borders Sausal creek...beautiful! The kiddie playgrounds is pretty nice but missing a few toddler swings or a nice slide for pre-school. But, where it really needs improvement are the tennis courts. You could fall into the cracks. Unplayable and have been now for years. Please Oakland, resurface and put in a couple of Pickleball courts for us seniors!
Really nice creek/park in the fruitvale diamond district of Oakland you can relax at the park or take the short and mostly flat trail up stream to a bridge that over hangs. If the creek is low follow it to a smaller tunnel that is a really nice treat and the trail actually picks back up and leads out.
Finally a bathroom....out of the way, blink and miss it!!! Pay Attention...same throughout California...to me, this time... an Oasis !lol..
Very nice and quiet
Big park that has different sections to chill
For late afternoon and winter users, the City on 2/25/20 replaced all the evening lamps on the paths with bright white LED units replacing the dimmer, orangish sodium vapor units. From the green scene, it will require 85% less power.
Great place for some day walking/hiking!
Took my grandson fishing off the walkway. Nice place. enjoyable. Nice for a picnic.
Never been there, please stop asking for this review :-)
Nice day in Oakland couldnt believe how hot it was.
I like the park over all. However, it is overdue for a makeover. The parks seating is weathered and needs to be replaced. The bbq pits needed rack replacements. The facility does have bathrooms but needed some attention. The bathrooms had an abundance of used paper on floors. It is a nice facility with ample grassy areas for freebies, volleyball and room to walk your dogs.
Found a dead body here once, he was still clinging to a watch...... Great park
Great family park anytime of the year. Great picnic area for large groups. Nice walking area three small playgrounds. One playground needs work. Great neighborhood park.
My husband takes our dogs there. Great park
Big open park, lots to do for the kids, pets and adults. Tennis, basket ball, trails and play grounds.
Great hidden Urban gem of a park. Real nature getaway.
My kid loves sqirrels and play ground. The small tablestuff are good fit for kids. Only the toilet and the waterfront can be better.
Private big park and so far people never bother me
It has changed from what I remember in the late 90s my granddaughter was to old for the playground. Not challenging enough. Thanks, we had fun anyway.
I grew up playing in diamond park. And my kids grew up playing an now my grandkids are playing in diamond we been in the area since 1972 we love diamond park
A great place to connect to the outdoors in your own backyard.
This is one of our favorite parks. It has multiple play structures that are great for children that are a variety of ages. The toddler area is perfect for ages 2-5. Another structure has sand, which provides hours of fun. There is also basketball and tennis courts, along with miles of trails...really does have something for everyone.
I love the large nature scene that they offer here beautiful wildlife especially in the evening when its the Suns about the set!
This is one of the best parks ! A real diamond in the rough!!!
Gentrification is only good when new money gets Oakland to get off its bottom and keep this park clean and in good condition. The Lyon swim center even got a facelift.
I walk in the park it is very relaxing and you meet friendly ppl there.
Cool creek path that goes a ways up to a tunnel; I didnt explore the tunnel much but it could be fun
Pretty cool. Lost a drone there. 4/5 Would lose again.
Fun local park. Its in need of some TLC, but its got tennis courts, a pool, a nice creek, and connects to a trail that walks up along Sausal Creek. With a visit if you live in the neighborhood .
The park has a lot of potential but needs better maintenance and parking.
Great park, big and play structures for young and older kids
Nice shady park youd never guess was so close to MacArthur.Really beautiful cathedral of giant Redwoods with picnic tables in the center.
Best park in Oakland. Gateway to Joaquin Miller and the redwoods up the hill.
Nice, relaxed feeling, great for picnics and bbq
Its a good place to have swimming pool free fish pond a large playground and a large picnic area
Beautiful Park beautiful people I recommend this park for anybody who wants to sit kickl back and gather thete thoughts
The park is well maintained..and I love the trees there!!!
Small park, but interesting hiking if you like streams!
Small cute park along the river that leads to the Redwoods Regional Park
I love this park. I go there to swim. The pool is nice and warm and Outdoors. Theres a sweet little park next to it and also a little kitty playground on the other side. Nice place. Beautiful trees and it has a lovely little creek running through it.
Nice shortcut on my mountain bike
Great place for a short walk.
This used to be one of Oaklands best hiking gems, Unfortunely bad city management allowed for sewer waters and pollution to over take the river streams. Causing an awful overpowering odor. I am positive the contamination is a health hazard.
Well I did not visit this park. Ut I was in the area. After seeing a photo of the place I think you would be out of your mind to not want to visit it. So I will have to plan a trip.
Sausal Creek has grown back in beautifully following its restoration, and the planning and engineering that brought it back is beautifully balanced for people to be in it and around it.
My favourite park. Its diverse as far as people which I love. The redwood trees almost welcome you with their stature. The playgrounds are amazing. Im always in a good mood here.
Easy access, lots of trees; could use more seating and tables.
Nature trails goes way back. Playground for kids. A pool.. check for times and availability. Certain times are for lap swimmers. Lots of grass and picking amenities. A creek that looks like it originally did years ago has been restored.
Its nice Shady Park lot of shade
Peaceful and quiet if you park on the hill you can see the city.
Open playground with many amenities but needs maintenance
Lion pool is back on. 1st swim there in two years.
