Best nature park in Norman! I just wish that those who walk their dogs there would pick up after them. No one wants to see or step on dog poop...specially on the trail.

It was such a beautiful trail! Spanning 1.3 miles it wraps around a lake and HAS BEAUTIFUL wild life as well as a wide open field where you can throw a Frisbee or even play football! Only thing that could have made it better is if the lake had better maintenance. Other than that it was gorgeous!

Sutton Wilderness Trails is a great place to take a family to explore. My kids enjoyed going as much as my husband and I did. We spent probably an hour just going where the trails led us and went on some small foot trails. We made a lot of cool discoveries and even climbed a tree. This was a very peaceful trip during early fall. We typically stay on the paved paths for running but enjoyed this so much that we plan on exploring again, although it might wait until spring.

We went for a short hike today with our dogs. While the loop is only a 1.3 mile walk we turned it into a nice 2.3 hike by exploring almost every side trail we crossed. We even had an elevation of 53 feet! I know we did some climbing! It was a great way to let the dogs run off some steam as we are those people who let their dogs run off leash until they meet up with other people on the trail. Id give it a 5 star rating but trail is not marked and so it is easy to kinda not always know if youre actually on the trail or not.

The trails are pretty nice, and I like all the information about the wild flora and fauna. However, some people using the trails didnt clean up after their pets properly, and there were quite a few bombs in the path. Otherwise, it was a really nice urban wilderness to take the dogs out.

Beautiful and peaceful. I took my kids for a walk on this trail recently and it was perfect. It wasnt too long for small kids and the scenery kept changing with a glimpse of Hospital Lake, different kinds of trees, scenic lookouts and benches to sit on. Most of the trail is paved but the dirt path was flat and completely accessible.

This is a small park in the middle of Norman that offers a nice outdoor experience around a small lake. Most of the trail is paved, but there are some forest trails and a small bit that is gravel. A lot of the trail is a little overgrown, but thats to be expected at a wilderness park. Plenty of wildlife is present and there are benches placed along the trail to stop and enjoy the view. Wildflowers abound as well for those who love seeing the plant life.

Would be a great park if the city of Norman recreation department would clean up and mow so people could actually walk closer to the water to fish. As well as clean up the homeless population that are illegally camping in a city park where camping is prohibited!

I Absolutely LOVE Sutton wilderness! It is such a beautiful place no matter what time of year. They have plenty of walking trails that you can choose from when you go so that you dont have to walk the same loop every time. You can also ride your bike there which nice and the ride throu the main trails isnt hard at all. There is also a couple pounds there that you can sit by to relax. Or you can bring your poles and do some fishing. I believe Norman stocks the ponds there. Sutton wilderness is also pet friendly. A really nice place to take your dogs for a walk.

After I moved to Norman I experienced the joy of this place. Walking around, looking at flowers, Im pretty sure I already posted a million pictures so Im not sure why Google is prompting me for a review. Apparently the parking lot used to be really small, but its expanded now. And apparently there didnt used to be a paved path, but there is now. But not the whole path, just one part. If you need a nice relaxing place to walk around and check out nature, this is the place to go.

An urban wilderness walled in by cedar trees and Hedge-apple trees. It is really neat. You get an idea what Norman looked like before the Land Run. (Grassy and bumpy Haha) the trails wonder around a pond. Its a hole 160 ac quart section but the trails only cover a portion of that. No camping or bikes. Lots of wildlife if you know where, and what to look for. It has grasslands, wetlands, and woods.
