Truly beyond all expectations. On our two days trip to Oklahoma, we were pondering over places we wanted to visit to get maximum out of our stay. We chose this place and it was worth. The presentation, collections, and meticulous placement are too good. I think it is a must visit specially if you have school going kids.

A hidden trearsue for the state of Oklahoma and the local university. The place charts the majority of history for the state including dinosaurs, prehistoric plants, and sharks. You will be surprised at the number of ecosystems found in Oklahoma and the diversity of plants and animals. The museums display of Native American curlers is spectacular. They have one of the definitive collections of Native American tools in the nation. All ages will find this an exciting and highly educational stops.

We had such a great time here! Our favorite exhibit was the dinosaurs. There is a discovery room with lots of hands on fossils and toys for the kids. There is a cafe and a gift shop and restrooms on the 1st floor. There is a 2nd floor accessible by stairs or elevator. There are people in some of the rooms available to answer questions. The gentleman in the dinosaur room was very informative. Most of the dinosaur displays are made from the real bones. And all of the bones behind glass are real.

Giant predators like Saurophaganax and Allosaurus used their power and size to dominate their domain and all those within it. And the story was no different in the Jurassic oceans. These are the bones of Plesiosaur. They appear to have been broken into fragments. And many of these show indications that they didnt die of natural causes. It looks more like they were violently dismembered. One particular fossil gives us a chilling idea of how these Plesiosaurus died.

I cannot sing the praises of this museum enough! As a single parent, it is especially challenging to find good ways for my son and I to spend our free time that 1. Are worth our time, and 2. Fit into the budget. I have consistently had a membership here, and my boy and I love it! The fees are very affordable. The museum itself is really wonderful. Endless educational opportunities, plus they have some great seasonal exhibits and programs. I love that we can bring friends with us on our membership, too. No complaints, we absolutely love the Sam Noble Museum!

My wife, 3 kids(15,14,10), and myself went and spent the afternoon here yesterday. Fairly cheap,$38, for a good time. Hands on items. Interesting exhibits. Cool displays. Kind of on the small side but perfect for kids. Get in and out before they start getting “bored” while still having fun and being educational.

Really nice staff and a decent gallery. The Dinosaur exhibit was the best to me. I also liked the native peoples exibit. To be fair, all of the exhibits were nice, I just wish there was more. The detail of what was there was really great. The college student who helped us yesterday was very knowledgeable. Nancy also helped us out and provided great information about volunteer opportunities. It was a lovely experience.

Ive been going to this museum since I was a little girl. Ive seen it develop and grow over many years and Im so proud of this museum. Ive been to the Museum of Natural History in NYC and whereas this museum isnt as massive, its still awesome to go to. From dinosaurs to natural Oklahoman plants and animals to American Indians, this museum is great for learning and seeing new things. Lots of interactive exhibits for all ages. They have great events here too for everyone to come and have a blast. They also do birthdays.

LOVE visiting this museum, it has everything a little kid could want to see with Dinosaurs downstairs and Oklahoma upstairs. Rotating exhibit on the first floor for adults and a fun activity room for kids to explore and play in. They had an Ask An Expert day that was also really fun to check out-- Archaeologists, anthropologists, and a guy who sings Dinosaur songs, to name a few.One of our friends booked her sons birthday party here and it was a great event.Veterans get in for free with ID, kids 2 and under for free as well. Such a great resource for our family, especially on cold or rainy days! They are STICKLERS for no food/drink inside the exhibit area, including coffee in a cup with a lid from their own cafe, so plan accordingly!

The Sam Noble Natural History museum is a Norman treasure. The staff are friendly and helpful, answering any questions you might have about any exhibits. And what exhibits they have!Their collection of prehistoric bones and fossils is absolutely amazing, and the permanent display of the wildlife and geography of Oklahoma is fantastic. They also have a regularly rotating display of non-permanent exhibits that are always awesome. Two recent ones that were incredible were a collection of amazing photographs of moths, and another exhibit all about sharks that featured a huge collection of shark teeth.I take my kids here whenever I can. Initially I was worried this museum was on the smaller side and debated driving to the Science Museum Oklahoma. We were staying in Norman and this was the more convenient option. We were not disappointed and spent 2 hours here and were able to see everything we wanted. The dinosaurs were a hit with our family but all the exhibits were interesting and I especially enjoyed how it all tied into Oklahoma. We were not rushed and had enough time to make the drive to tour the Oklahoma City Memorial and Museum in the same day.

Went there for a conference, the facility is okay. They have incredibly strict rules about were you can and cant have food and beverages. Which could make sense for kids and if the establishment was super pristine. But for an conference with professionals in a occasionally dry subject matter coffee is crucial. Would recommend coding a different venue. I know nothing about the museum experience so I gave a few stars back for the museum.

Situated in a quiet corner of OUs campus, the Sam Noble Museum is a treasure trove of anthropological, biological and geological information about the Sooner State. The three main exhibition halls are beautifully presented with plenty of interpretive labels, interactive features and illustrations. There is no lack of seating, and it is easy to wander around the exhibitions at a leisurely pace. While the Museum is the go-to place to learn about Oklahoma, I think it falls short of its mission of inspir[ing] minds to understand the world. It has the collections and exhibition space to achieve the goal. The Great Hall feels empty now, and the land to the south of the Museum seems suitable for an expansion if needed. Personally, I also hope that the Hall of World Cultures will return at some time point.

I wanted to like this place, but frankly theres something plastic about it. Actually many things plastic. Many dinosaur skeletons seemed fake. Why did it have to be that way?

I brought my girlfriend (now wife) and her 7 year old daughter here. Both of them enjoyed the museum and all of its many exhibits. I find this museum interesting for children and adults alike. I highly recommend especially to anyone in the Oklahoma City metro area. If you think youve seen all of the attractions and activities, but have not been here, take a short drive to Norman, and for the price of admission, enjoy every inch of this museum. The exhibits were well done, and the entire place was clean and bright. If I ventured to give any constructive criticism I will simple say I felt the price was a bit $$$!!

Overall, an amazing museum that feels cutting edge while retaining the charm of an old-school museum. I was blown away by the Hall of Ancient Life. This museum is able to combine actual fossils, dioramas, and murals into some of the most well-done museum exhibits I have seen in a long time. The exhibits were educational but not boring, interesting without dumbing down the material. The museum showcases many unique fossils, including the largest fossil skull on record! I was really impressed. The other exhibit halls were pretty interesting, including one on local wildlife and habitats, and another explaining how the museum displays are put together.
