Awesome place for live music. Only outdoor drinks with spacial comfortable seating at this time, however saw a great show by Scout Ford and the Blue Moons (although singers they are absolutely hilarious and engage well with the crowd). The crowd and passerbys were collectively in good spirits, staff made sure you were safe and comfortable.
This little gem should not be missed if you are in the village. Nestled on the Lower East Side, it it truly a Jazz lovers wet dream. With live music nightly, you will enjoy the best of the best every night of the week. In addition to the owner Mike Camacho sitting in with the rotating bands the featured drink menu lend homage to the Jazz and music greats like the Celia and many others. So run dont walk to this amazing resource of music. Youll love it and never want to leave.
Best jazz bar in the city. Live music every day. Hard to find in these times.
Great cocktails, sweet live music, and the only food I tried was the guacamole & chips which is pretty hard to mess up. Definitely want to get back for the Saturday doowop quartet!
Nice garden space and good fish food, a very nice place to go for a romantic dinner or with friends.

Michael is the best NYC bar owner in the city
Hey baby great food, drinks, and live music.
Great 5-piece band and nice selection of drinks
My friends phone was hacked after using her Venmo here. Stick with cash. Quite weird.
Cute spot for date night. They had a fun jazz band for Valentine’s Day.
Theres only drinks and no food. You can bring your own food if you want. The lager beer was not available in the beginning of the evening. The attendance is nice. Wine is ok.
My partner & I had an unexpected great night here at Rue B. It was a highlight of our trip to NYC. Greg Robbins and his jazz band were brilliant. Highly recommend seeing this band, as well as enjoying a relaxing drink in the great ambience
Absolutely adore this place. Jazz music in the East Village is euphoric. Back to a time before myself is what you step into when visiting this place. The decor is so timely and the cocktails and wine are neat. Not to mention customer care is of high priority. There is no doubt t in my mind that I will return.
Great cocktails and live music
Incredible jazz bar in the East Village. iconic and a must-see while you’re in NYC! live music every night, plus free-wifi! amazing!
Get there before 9pm on weekends, if not theyll pack you in without a place to sit in a place too small for more than 20-25 people. Decent drinks, good music.
Enjoyable evening. Good service.
Hmmmmmm I have love for this place I really do. But ...... hmmmmmmmmm
Great
I move in NY 1 year ago and I loved this place so much since it was very cozy and very close to my apt.I loved to chill a lil with great live music, cocktails, draft beers and a fast table service and no entrance fee.In my opinion, the owners reduced the service quality in a drastic way:- they charge for a 10$-20$ entrance fee (only in cash)- service is super slow since theres just one bartender/waiter/cashier/janitor (sometimes i think hes also the sound engineer )- they have a two drink minimum policy that is kind of annoying if you are just entered after midnight in a week day.
Hole in the wall place with great live music and great drinks. By the end of the night the tube and trumpet player part of the band was up on the bar playing their get hearts out. It was a great time!
Very lovely jazz club, not far from union square. We spend an exciting night listening a talented jazz band from Atlanta. Even with live music beer price is affordable. I really appreciated this place, and I consider it one of the best of my experience in New York City.
Great place to have a beer or drink with your friends. I went here during jazz night and had a good time, but to get in we had to pay an entrance fee of 5$ per person. The room is a bit small so it is hard to talk together during the performance.
Good place for good music, but VERY FULL. Almost no room to move or enjoy yourselves.
Cute, narrow bar with live music and good cocktails.
We were on a trip to NYC and visited this place. There was an excellent atmosphere and polite staff. Jazz band was the best.
Cant beat a live jazz bar for a new York experience. Great happy hour cocktails.
Great bar, awesome staff, and I love that they have music every night. No matter what the night, even if its quiet, theres something on. I saw a great accordion/guitar duo, very entertaining, and the staff were amazingly hospitable, highly recommended.
Id give this place a meh. There is no food. The wine is overpriced and not good. The music is fine, but why charge a cover when youve got a nearly empty bar and a no-name band?
Thursday nights with Kelly Green Trio is best! Super swinging jazz.D is a fine bartender. Service all around is great. No food, but there is a menu available with list of nearby places to order and bring in food.Great vibe with jazz jam sessions.
Update 5 months later: now $20 per person to enterTo preface: this is my favorite bar. Im leaving this review because I tried to reach out to the business via email and didnt get a response after multiple tries. Were used to having the Dean Martins done very well. I had to ask for this one to be redone and the second time it still wasnt up to par. we used to come when it was free to walk in, then it was $5, and then it was $10. They told us at the door it was $10 and then when we got our tab it said $13 a person because they failed to mention that there was an upcharge for doing the cover fee without cash. This is something I either have never noticed or was cheated on. on the way out we asked the guy at the door again how much it was supposed to be if we paid with our card and he said $10.
I’d give 5* month ago. It was my favourite place in this area. But now... Minus one * for introduction live music fee. Minus one * for no draft beer and most snacks in menu during my last 2-3 visits. Minus one * for wrong live music schedule at their website. I came tonight for listening Melanie Sholtz, but she wasn’t there. Unfortunately forced to find new favourite place
Wonderful little spot featuring dimmed red toned lights, old jazzy tunes and live jazz at night
This is a nice low key place in Brooklyn. The place is very small and cosy. I recommend getting there before 9pm which is when the live music starts if you want to get a seat. The live jazz band was really good on the night we went and the happy hour cocktails were nice but there wasnt much of a variety which was a shame. The person who was serving us was really lovely however the service was abit slow which is why they are not getting 5 stars. They need to get more people serving as they had one girl looking after all tables! Which is no wonder it was slow.I would recommend this place for a date or small gathering with friends. Everyone tends to leave after the music stops which is at 12
Nice place for a drink and a live jazz performance. Classy but not too much.
Cozy spot for New york Jazz
A little small but it is a nice place for good cocktails and live music.
Rue B is a place that I always feel at home. Great jazz, hip clientele, innovative drink menu, and friendly staff. The owner, Michael, makes everyone feel welcome.
I had an amazing experience at this place. I had been there during happy hours(6-8pm) and after that there was a live jazz performance. The service is amazing and my girlfriend had an amazing time there. I would definitely recommend anyone who loves jazz to visit this place.
WARNING: HORRIBLE KITCHEN CONDITIONS--DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!I used to work here as a Chef, here are a few of the things I noticed--The owner Mike Camacho does not care about his customers, his employees or the health standards of NYC. For as long as I worked there, he did not have his food rating up in the front, or his menu, posing as just a bar, however inside there would be a menu. This in of itself is a serious offense to the NYC health codes. The fridge barely works, the sink is constantly clogged and overflows, best part is that it shares plumbing with the bathroom so you literally get sewage spilling in the kitchen every so often. Rat feces everywhere. Most of my days were spent trying to make this h*ll hole of a kitchen together. He would force employees under the threat of being fired, to never discuss us not being rated despite getting numerous questions about it from customers. When presented with these issues, he would dismiss them as trivialities. However, when I threatened to call the health inspector he fired me on the spot.I have called the health inspector and have left messages to them about this, I only hope I havent poisoned anyone during my time working here. Horrible.Good music, bad food, even worse owner.-5/10
Cozy jazz club with your typical NYC cocktail selection
This place is amazing. Even more so on a Monday evenings for the jazz/poetry meet. Very chill, social, creative crowd!
Goodbye staff, nice food on limited menu. The young Lady in the door needs a wake up call!
Tiny place with a tuned piano, drum kit & well chosen jazz musicians.
Had an awesome time. The live jazz was incredibly good and lively. The drinks were on point. The place is small and cozy so it gets packed to the gills and becomes a standing (no moving) room only kinda place.
Great jazz. Drinks are overpriced outside of happy hour. Awesome spot for live music. If youre in the area worth checking out.
Awesome spot! Great music and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely plan to go back!
The hummus is out of this world. Music is amazing.
Nothing too special, the jazz was pretty good. My friends and I had been waiting for an espresso martini for a long time so we ordered one - Dean Martin. Worst Ive ever had. It says it has espresso but its got regular pour over coffee that tasted like I licked dirt. Please note the Sir Duke cocktail tasted like generic cough syrup. Good if you have a cough, not so good if you want to drink.
This place is one of my fav jazz bar in Manhattan
Cute interior ambiance. Drinks were pricey but good. Jazz was really nice, and starts pretty early (9ish). Red lights and hand made dice lamps are cool.
Really cool little jazz spot. Live music every night I believe. Good drink menu, and limited but decent tap beer selection.
Decent Jazz live music!
Awesome atmosphere but wayyy overcrowded during a Saturday night jazz concert
Laid-back joint with a great vibe. They do great share plates at the bar. The drinks are plentiful and well priced. Good crowd here: 20s-30s New Yorkers.
Great little spot that does live jazz every night from 9pm~12am. Talented performers and intimate enough for date night
Rue B is an excellent bar. Live music is always interesting. Moderately priced for EV.
Small place, had a marvy time.
Best nightspot in nyc
Love the red lighting at night, best place to get live jazz from great artists and great bar service! Get there 45-30 min before the band so you can get a seat!
Live music every night! Great staff, great music and yummie drinks! Prices were more than reasonable.
Great music in a small space. 2 drink minimum. Excellent cocktails.
Really cute place! Except there was a cover charge when we went on a Tuesday night, and the music seemed to be just ok.
Not even worth a star. People of NYC, if there is one bar to permanently stay away from it is this one!!! The trashy owner and inconsiderate bar tenders and staff makes this place the worst bar I have ever been to in NYC. YOU CAN NOT KICK PEOPLE OUT OF A BAR FOR NOT BUYING A DRINK. My friends and I were at the bar for about 10 minutes, and immedately we were asked to leave because we didn’t buy a drink in that time frame. I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know in the area and all my family and friends never to go to this bar. Thankfully I grew up here and know tons of people. All - do not waste time or money here, lets work together to get this place shutdown for good!!.
I had a horribly unpleasant experience at this place - mainly due to the owner. The owner, Mike Camacho, has a talent for making you feel cheap and poor. I went with a group of friends to this bar yesterday around 9:30 PM. We mainly came to enjoy some tasteful music; however, we did not expect to be ambushed by the over suspecting owner, who demanded that we get out if we did not want to buy a drink. Needless to say, his words were unkind and his tone was rude. While I do understand his point, I did not expect to be spoken to in a way that was belittling. His condescending tone and over expressive body language only begins to show the level of discomfort I felt when interacting with this discourteous man. I immediately no longer felt appreciation for the music, but instead I wanted to leave. My friend additionally made an attempt to politely inform him of his ill-mannered way of speaking, but he refused to acknowledge our presence. Personally, I cannot fathom how anyone can work with or for this distasteful man. I must warn you: if you wish to be humiliated then yes, you will receive exactly that by visiting this bar!
Nice and quiet (before the music starts), good drinks and snacks
A very cool place with nice music (even if you do not know the first thing about Jazz)
10 $ entry for 10 minutes live music.Thats not the good way.
Great atmosphere. The Nat King Cole drink was amazing. And the band played a type of Louisiana style Jazz that kept you wanting more.
Excellent cocktails, excellent service. Fun live jazz
Fantastic little jazz bar. Low key, unpretentious and reasonably priced drinks. The place is full charm and the staff are friendly. Great atmosphere.
Dont go to this place. Lets keep it a secret... ;)For realz though, happy hour til 8:00, live jazz seven nights a week, and thoughtful decor/ambiance makes this place a tried and true winner.
Great place if you love jazz, good music and chill ambient to share in east village
Great atmosphere, brilliant resident jazz band (went Monday night). Decent beer and nice staff
Literally the best place to be in the Area.Good vibes only!
Really cool jazz bar feel. The drinks were pricy but delicious. There was an actual jazz band playing. Its not a big place.
Nice little spot with a cool crowd and it was not crowded for a Friday. Had two musicians, one on the piano and the other on a Double bass. Food was reasonably priced and delicious. Drinks are reasonably priced and bartender is friendly.
Pretty cool place with great prices, but dont go for the food. I went on a Sunday night at around 7:30. The prices were great (apps for $6, pizzas for $7, and Duvel for $4.50). The atmosphere is really cool, and very comfortable. Their menu at the time was appetizers, sandwiches, and pizzas. Most of the things that seemed decent were amongst the pizzas, but they ran out of pizza. So I ended up ordering the spinach artichoke dip and the mac and cheese with truffle oil, and both were not good. There was also no truffle oil in the mac and cheese. They werent terrible, or unsanitary or anything, but they also werent good and I have no interest in eating them again. I would definitely go back, but only for drinks. Maybe their pizzas are decent, but I wouldnt know. If I went back and had an acceptable pizza, I would raise the star rating.
Excellent jazz. Excellent cocktails. Lovely environment.
Good music and atmosphere, pretty decent old fashioned.
Good music, good drinks, friendly staff.
Amazing atmosphere and make sure to get the signature drinkAwesome place!
Hice vibe, good drinks, awesome ppl
I visit this place all the time and this time I literally fainted outside their bar and they treated me like a queen. A+ establishment, also the music is always fantastic
Great place! Beautiful people!
Great happy hour deals and good vibes
Great cocktails and the music is wonderful
If there was a no star I would give it that this place has a disgusting wait staff management staff and owner ; my friend and I were invited to this bar by the musicians as a birthday celebration at least that the impression we were under there the sign in the front stated there was no cover and it didn’t say anything about a 2 drink minimum I had arrived about n hour after my friends I sat for about 5 mins and as soon as I came in the waitress said nastily “there’s a 2 drink minimum and slammed the menu down in front of me, my friend and I looked at one another and then went outside for a smoke break and came back soon as we sat down the waitress come back n says it’s a 2 drink minimum we said okay can u give us a second, no sooner than that was said here come the manger very nastily “it’s a 2 drink minimum minimum u can order 2 drinks or get out.” He proudly goes on to say I just kicked out a whole 3 tables of people mind u this club is small so ur proud of kicking out ur customers and no one was informed of the minimum so as he’s being hostile I’m quite and listening so I state ur being very hostile there is no need to be we are calm and collective he then turns his attention to me and gets even more nasty so my friend then goes okay can we have water until we decide what to drink he then goes no I’m not serveing you water in fact I’m not going to serve u anything get out . Soon as he said this I’ve never been so offended or disrespected in my life I proceed to get up and go i then speak to the bouncer in the front he give me the owner mike cabara I believe that’s how his name is spelt number I wait till morning around 9 am to call I call and I say good morning I’m calling on behalf of your management staff and the unsavory hospitality I received this the owner now “ you shouldn’t even have my number you shouldn’t even be calling me” I go excuse me he then proceeds I kid you not “ you were drunk and belligerent and got my number on a lie and I stopped listening because he began to berate and belittle me I then proceeded to say while he was talking I definitely understand as to why your wait staff and management staff is the way it is and proceed to hang up I’ve never in my life have been treated with such disrespect and disgust when I’m a paying customer and have the means to pay I’ll never go back here and my friends reviews shall follow this one it was over 100 ppl at this club and we’ve all received the same bad energy from the management staff as we are of all different color and race
Good music, good drinks, friendly staff.
