Me and my husband really enjoyed our room and hes a picky person but we found no flaw in the room. The staff were nice even security. The room was clean and the kitchen was stocked. It was really a home away from home. We will definitely be booking again.
Unit was dirty with unswept floors and had a couple of plastic bottles behind furniture. Only had 2 forks and no spatula. There is no dishwasher and no detergent. Was not informed of requirements for leaving until I went to office to get towels. There were no face towels and AC vents were rusted. Not used to these issues with Hotel.com. Small ironing board.
This place was really nice! Great price for the location. We were right on the beach! Great views as well. Parking was right across the street in a parking garage. Sadly no complimentary breakfast. But the guys at the front desk were really helpful and nice! The rooms were clean, the kitchen came fully prepared with dishes and pots and pans. Whenever I go to stay a Myrtle Beach I will be staying at this place. Oh and also everything is within walking distance!
I dont usually give reviews, even though I have complaints, but I just want to share this, so other customers can be better prepared and hopefully would enjoy their stay more. Reason I chose this place was the kitchen. Oceanfront and location was perfect, room is generally clean but outdated. Aircon is loud. 1)Check-in is located 10 minutes from the actual hotel, and for late check-in, you have to DIY and go back to the same office by 10am the next day to finally speak to the receptionist. Add this to your daily itinerary. 2)Bring your own towels. So far, this is the only hotel Ive been to where you have to. We had to purchase ours as we were not made aware. 3)Bring out your own trash after your stay, which is located across your street from the hotel. 4)Parking is across the street also. Self-parking. 5)Before check-out time, they already changed our room door code, so we had to call the hotel to give us our code. They had trouble looking for our name from the list and the person on the other end was not friendly, rather rude. Nonetheless, we tried to have a good time with family.
Got in here through airbnb. No front lobby for hotel like check in. Great location on the beach! Some units have full on beach views. Some units are on side of building so have reduced view of the ocean. Pools and spas are good. Seconds to the beach.
Decent place to stay. Rooms are a bit cramped. There is no reception desk. You check in off site. Aside from Pools, laundry, vending machines, and ice. There is no lobby/bar/dining area on site.Elevator gets hung up occasionally as well.
It was in a great location and very roomy, however, the interior needs to be updated. Housekeeping did a poor job of cleaning and preparing the Condo we stayed in. Due to our neighbors, we were forced to smell Marijuana every evening that we attempted to sit on the balcony to enjoy the sounds of the Ocean causing us to return to the confinement of our Condo. Security was very visible around the parking lot, near the pool and walking outside around the property. We were a bit disappointed, but all in all, I guess the good outweighs the bad. eg: Full size Fridge, his & her vanity sink, indoor & outdoor pools.
Let me say this hasnt been the worst experience we have had, place was pretty clean for the most part and bug free. I had a couple of complaints, one being I called prior to booking to find out if the pools were open due to COVID-19 and was told yes, however the pool was not and the only access to a pool was a remote location that was packed and very limited to times available. You could only use laundry facilities between hrs of 9-3. No lobby which means check in is at the same location as pool. So this also meant no front receptionist on duty. The sliding glass doors were super heavy and hard to open and our dishwasher leaked. The receptionist at the remote location was super friendly so that was a plus and it was oceanfront. Myrtle Beach was a wee bit too busy for us
Positive: Location was great Negative: no
Direct path to the beach, waterfront property, clean rooms and nice views.
First off I went to go check in and all of the doors were locked, they were doing some kind of construction. There was a managers number and another number to the office posted on the front door. I called both numbers, no answer. I even left a voice mail saying it was raining and I was standing outside in the rain trying to check in. I then called hotels.com and the lady thought I spoke with told me I had to go to another address which was 10 minutes away.....(I was never informed to check in at any other location). I went to the address and it was closed at 5pm. Again I called that building and no answer. I called back hotels.com and they told me that no way that building was open till 11pm. Meanwhile it was pouring down raining and no one could help me! Hotels.com told me to stay I hold and she would call the manager that they had a number for. I told her I wanted a refund and I was going to book something else. This was completely ridiculous and unacceptable. She told me I could get a refund on Monday morning. Yesterday Jeffrey from hotels.com emailed me saying my refund was denied. I called hotels.com and asked to speak with a supervisor and the lady put me on hold and kept clicking over laughing and putting me back on hold. I was left on hold and no one ever came to the phone. This entire situation ruined my vacation. I have never dealt with anything like this before! I WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH HOTELS.COM AGAIN!!
The bed was actually sitting on the floor. The cupboards were all banged up and finish coming off. The surrounding hotels all had pools open and this hotel still didn’t have their amenities open. The door had been broken into at some point and didn’t close quite properly. I would not stay here again.
Front door is super hard to shut and doesn’t work properly, back sliding door has a broken handle and is way too hard to slide open and shut, air conditioning is SO loud, no place to store food, the only wall outlets that work are in the bedroom, the speaker on the TV is completely busted and makes loud noises when you’re watching something, the internet is always off and on and doesn’t properly work. pool is smaller than in the picture and hot tub is even smaller. parking is all the way across the street, the bed is pretty hard, the shower turns into a bath because it’s clogged, we can’t change the input on the TV in the bedroom for our fire stick that we brought. DONT STAY IN UNIT 508. ITS DISGUSTING
It was OK. I’d stay again for a good rate. Location is great. Not having after hours check in was annoying. They expected me to get up, dressed, out the door and to their office before 10 am on the first day of a family vacation so that I could personally sign my credit card receipt. That was inconvenient. The unit itself was OK. Ocean view was nice. Bedding could have been significantly better. The place was clean and safe.
Great beachfront lodging. Easy, quick, and friendly check-in. The beach view room that we stayed in had a great view of the beach and we enjoyed many a pleasant morning, and evening on the balcony. Our room was well appointed and had everything that would be needed during the stay. Our room was clean and very comfortable. Beds were very comfortable as were the pillows. Extra bedding, ie, blankets/pillows was available in the bedroom closet. Beach access was located on the property and it was nice to be able to walk right out of the building to the beach. There was a pool on the property as well although we did not use it during our stay. Lounge chairs facing the ocean were also available on the property and were very inviting. We were located very closely to many great restaurants and attractions. Both of these were either within walking distance or a short distance by car. We enjoyed our stay here and picked up a pricing list for winter rentals prior to our departure. Very affordable lodging and the winter rates were equally reasonable. Just a very pleasing facility. Secure guest entry by room keycard was an added perk as well.
Enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in an oceanview king suite. It was clean for the most part. Didnt give 5 stars because the suite wasnt dusted properly and one of the drains was clogged in the bathroom. The front desk staff was pleasant. Beach directly behind condos. Breakfast and shops nearby. Parking across the street.
Location was excellent. Private walk to the beach. The space of the room and ease of use was fine. Some finishes needed to be replace and the lack of common hotel-type features (ie coffee, coffee filters, creamer, sugar) were a little disappointing. Room had a coffee maker, but nothing to go with it. Had to go to the grocery store to stock up. Not too concerned that we had to run the dishwasher and take out our own trash because we were just 2 single girls. Probably would have been a bigger deal if we were a family with kids. Probably wont return just because it lacks amenities like breakfast and coffee, but did not have a bad time.
2019 makes my 3rd year in a row booking here & ive clearly never had a problem staying here until this year... when you show up to the property to check in you first find a paper taped to the window of where the lobby use to be telling you to drive to another location to check in there while I never received anything about this new change. No problem but I went to check in I was informed that there’s no longer daily housekeeping. I didn’t mind that so I asked for a few extra towels & trash bags because that’s all I would need any way. I was told no & they are only responsible for supplying whatever is in my room & that’s it. It’s small things like that that make a vacation more vacationy & are given at $50 hotels in the middle of nowhere special, especially when I was charged $141 in resort fees. Over the course of my 5 day stay the ice machine has never not once worked. There are 2 elevators on the property & only one has worked. There are 2 gates to enter the outdoor pool & only one works so you have to walk all the way around to the other side. Piss poor management makes this my last year staying here after faithfully staying here for years.
I liked that I had ocean view and that they had pool and hot tubs both indoor and outdoor. I didn’t like that there was no lobby at the hotel and that we had to park across street. I also couldn’t take a bath because the tub stopper wouldn’t work. I also noticed a few dishes still had food stuck on them. But Other than that it was a pretty nice hotel.
Quite a few units need total Remodel. Nasty furniture and appliances. Mold issues around balcony doors/Windows. Staff although give the IMMEDIATE feel of We are better than YOUTHATS A GREAT COMFORT.
Negative: There was no one at the front desk. Didnt know I had to get codes for the hotel at a different location. I arrived at 11 p.m. didnt get in the room until 3 a.m.
Like: close to beachDislike: room was is bad shape. Light socket fixtures gone, bad sliding glass door, no tv remotes.
This hotel isnt the Ritz, but its very cute, quaint, and well kept! I enjoyed my stay at Myrtle Beach, and I intern enjoyed my stay at Meridian Plaza very much! If I go back next year, I want to stay at Meridian Hotel again! On my first night, the air conditioner was broken, but a repair man was able to come within an hour, and it was excellent service! I had no other problems with Meridian Plaza during the rest of my two week stay!
Its not the property thats the problem its the management group, if you can deal with a $30 a day resort fee. ( Expedia should not have these rooms) and make sure you get a main entrance door combo 0881 FYI. Then you will not have to deal with the sorry customer service. And still cant get a hold of anyone. I like the resort, great room, ocean front. Pool is small but not many people. Again extra fees and sorry customer service.
My review said that I arrived on monday I actually arrived on Sunday the 17th I just want to add that I would never recommend this place to anyone it is one of the worst places that Ive ever stayed at the front desk staff is honorable they treat you like your not worthy of even being there there very bad people to deal with
When we first got into town we went to go check in the lobby was closed they said we had to go to a different location for check-in. Once we got at our hotel, first 10 minutes in the room it was scorching hot the refrigerator did not work and the sliding glass door was jarred and would not open or close look like someone took a crowbar at it. There were is no fresh pillows or blankets in the closet. We called the hotel front desk and complained about how hot it was in the room and the door did not work also the refrigerator. They said there will be a ticket put in through maintenance and it will be taken care of first availability. After seven hours of driving we just wanted to sit down and relax which we could not do we headed to ask for a manager tell them our complaint and ask another room this is very unacceptable. After a while they finally got back with us and change Our room to another room which did not have the view that we was hoping for to the ocean. I will not be staying at this so called resort ever again
I suppose I should start with the fact that Meridian Plaza by Beach Vacations is a misnomer. Beach Vacations has very little to do with Meridian Plaza anymore; whats more theyre in a dispute with the Meridian Plaza Homeowners Association over this. Beach Vacations administers a few of the units in Meridian, but thats it nowadays. What this means is that you need to pay close attention to your booking, in the sense that you dont typically check in at the building itself. You probably have to go somewhere else to get your parking pass and door entry codes before coming to the building. And yes, you do need a parking pass to use the garage across the street.Having said all that, Meridian Plaza is a sweet little condominium building where each unit has its own character. These arent cookie cutter hotel rooms. The ocean front units are shotgun apartments, where you walk directly through the front door, into the bedroom before passing through the kitchen/living space on your way to the balcony. The balconies are the width of the unit and are separated from neighbors by a wall. So you may hear them but you wont see them unless youre leaning way out (I dont recommend this).Ocean View units give you the benefit of two ocean views: one from the open-air hallway to the north, and another from the units balcony. The building has been designed so that all of the ocean view units balconies are angled slightly to maximize the view you get. There arent any bad seats in that theater, folks. Ocean view units are more like true apartments, with a hallway to the bedroom that passes the bathroom and finally opens out to the kitchen/dining area. The kitchens in all units are small but theyre full kitchens, with refrigerator-freezers (smaller than typical but were not talking dormitory size), sink and oven/stove ranges. Nearly all the units have microwave ovens. Some, but not all, units have dishwashers (they were in the original design but a bunch have been removed). The capacity of each unit depends largely on how the owner decorated it: some units have two double beds, some have a single King or Queen size bed. Many units also have a (typically Queen size) fold-out sofa bed. Check the listing carefully before you book (regardless of the management company). As far as building amenities, the building is literally steps away from the beach, but if the ocean isnt your thing (or its night time), there are two pools on site: one indoor (heated...nice!) and one outdoor. There are also two hot tubs (in/outdoor). These are great for relaxing after youve been out all day doing the Tourist Thing.Speaking of which, the buildings location (2300 block of North Ocean Parkway) puts you close to all the action but not in the middle of it, so you can do the stuff you want to do but you also have the option to retreat from the rowdy crowds. Meridian Plaza is also literally walking distance from the Convention Center, so if youre in town for an event there, youre in luck. Are you a baseball fan? The Myrtle Beach Pelicans is a minor league affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, and the stadium is quite nearby (maybe too far to walk but a very short drive). Minor League baseball is fun no matter where you go, but a Pelicans game is always entertaining, and there are no bad seats. So if youre looking for a cozy, homey place thats convenient to pretty much everything, but you dont want to pay for a lot of stuff you werent going to use anyway, this is definitely the place to go.
So normally I dont do this but lets talk about this place. I will say it has a beachy vibe to it so thats cool. But this kitchen and these floors... First off the kitchen has a dishwasher and a stove fresh out of the 80s. The fridge is nice! But it doesnt open all the way because the area its in is too small! To the point where the freezer cant open without rubbing along the mini bar. Honestly I wouldve let this go if I didnt notice the floor boards coming up right in front of the fridge. Its gross looking and theres a missing piece of floor board by the sliding door. I dont expect places to be perfect but I expect things to be within the decade and all the flooring to be in place. Also the a.c. runs louder than the motorcycles roaming the streets. Which is pretty annoying when it starts up and youre about to fall asleep. Hard pass on this place.
Extremely disappointed First off I called Sunday before finalizing our room I called to make sure their pools wood be open “due to the fact I have a 8 year old that can’t spend much time in the ocean” I was told yes there were reopening opening on Monday well here it is 5 and they are still not opened I called the office to see when and they couldn’t give me any information but that they were going to be open today after waiting I asked the officer walking the grounds and she said she doesn’t know why we were told that cause they are going to be closed another month then just little thing like my daughter put her bath suit out to dry and the office had her remove it we will not be coming back I understand there isn’t a office her on the grounds but you should be able to get a straight out answer about somet They could take our money but not give us correct information about we’re we r staying something not right there
It was a clean room. Comparing it to a hotel, however, there was little to warrant $1000 for 3 nights! Myrtle Beach is full of better rates for comparable rooms. Since we stayed at an Airbnb, we needed to buy our coffee, take out our trash, and maintain our towels (no daily housekeeping like a hotel). We paid over $100 for housekeeping and we had to do all of our dishes as well! Myrtle Beach is wonderful! We could’ve saved a lot of money and still had a wonderful time!
I dont like writing one star reviews but having my vacation ruined has lead me to it. I vcd would give zero stars if I could. First arriving, I get told there is a $100 resort fee. Thinking that we get housekeeping, I agreed to it reluctantly. Nope. No housekeeping. $100 taken for upkeep on amenities. WHAT AMENITIES? Oh, the 3 1/2 foot pool. That sounds reasonable. Next, was told it was ocean view. Yes I can see the ocean..... from the side of the building. So was lied to by the description of the room. Last thing, we found a roach. Yes, a roach. We were told orkin would be out to clean. No relocating to another room, no some sort of money back. Im completely disappointed with this trip. My family and I were on limited funds and this place took most of it. I will never stay here again and will advise friends and family to stay away.
Beautiful rooms, however we booked through Meridian and the messed our room up and couldnt fix it. They did refund my money and we rented for an owner direct, who was wonderful. You are not allowed to dry your towels on the balcony or hang out you bathing suits. You have to go downstairs to myrtle beach owned land to smoke. If you are a smoker this not your place, the smoking area is not safe for woman at night.
Positive: The location and the view of the ocean from balcony and room. Negative: No office. Asked a guy there. Drove 2 miles away to check in. $74 more than original price. Went to condo. Smelled like dead fish. Not clean at all. No sheets on beds. Drove 2 miles away. Gave us a different room. It was not a good experience.
They could do better in providing towels i shouldnt have to wash there towels after a few days to have clean ones and they need to buy new beds. Overall a good place to stay
Easy check in, we had ocean front king room, the view was great, decorate nicely. The bed could have been in better shape. The ice machine was hard to locate. The elevator floor was nasty wet every evening.
Rooms was not clean when we got here. If the checkout was at 10 a.m. for the previous renters then why are we here at 3 to check in and didnt receive keys until 5 and still the room was not cleaned. The cleaners got here an hour after we arrived and took an hour to clean. We should be compensated in some type of way but thatll probably never happen! Over after the room was finally cleaned we did however enjoy ourselves on our stay.
We were so upset with this place. we had t check in at a different location all together. There the lights were off the parking lot was roped off and no one would answer the phone. After going to the motel where we were supposed to stay we found out that this type of things happens all the time. We went back to the check in location and by chance 20 minutes until closing time the people were leaving (early) She handed us a packet and told us to call the after hours number to get our codes to get in our rooms. By now we were so upset it was getting late and we had our elderly friends with us. They were so tired. So here we go again, we were on the phone for over an hour and a half and still didnt get our codes and no one would answer the phone. No acted like they cared either. We booked a different motel where we were welcomed and pampered. So the only thing the Meridian did that was ok was to refund our money. The little security guard at the motel said this happens all the time. That some people call for 4 hours before they can get in their room!!!
Im a part of a travel club and Ive been all around the world in 4 and 5 Star,, Plus Diamond Resorts and hotels. The condo i had was updated with new ceramic and floors, bathroom was very nice, clean, fresh smell unit. I stayed 5 days 4 night very quiet building...Had an ocean view King bed where you could see the entire beach from one side to another. It was very comfortable, well maintained.. I would stay there again...The office that i went to is located at 401 Mayfairst, Myrtle Beach, if you are trying to get keys or the code to the units... Very nice people! Unit 1203 is very nice..
Extremely disappointed. We were on the 15th floor and when it rained the unit flooded. Two maintenance men came and rang out already wet towels and just threw them back in the floor. No idea when the glass company would be there to repair the seals. There was black sludge in the grout and smoke boiled out of the stove eyes when the oven was in use. While collecting our things from the sleeping area a roach ran across the bed. To too it all off my partner now has head lice. It was so bad that I just wanted to go home. Did not complain......I just wanted out of there and to go home.
Small, older resort with indoor/outdoor pools and hot tubs. End units direct on ocean. Well maintained. Good value for oceanfront. Keypad entry.
My stay was great. Love the Meridian Plaza. Will use again.
Not impressed at all.
Good location. Good price. Bring your own towels. Do not believe anything that the office tells you.
Update from 1 to a 3: All is well, including my room change. Most importantly, my kids happy. THANK YOU MERIDIAN PLAZA! I will update when we leave. :)I checked in yesterday for an oceanfront suite that I had paid for at 100%, before arriving. When I arrived nothing was explained to me that there were any problems. After checking in, I noticed I didnt have the oceanfront suite I had paid for. The receptionist didnt say anything. No hint there was a change. I called down and asked for the room I paid for, to which she replied, we are booked. No attitude, no emotion, nothing. It was like, yeah? Your point, maam? She said, after I asked for a proper (she didnt offer to correct) room. She said, we can give you one tomorrow. No apologizes. Nothing. No attitude or anything. She just was extremely matter of fact and nonchalant wording... uncaring. It was business as usual. This business perspective sucks! I am waiting now to change the room. The room, they cant tell me will be ready and at what time. I called down this morning, and for about 20 to 30 minutes, there was no response. I asked for management and was told he isnt available, and she isnt sure when/if he will be available. I left a message for him an hour ago, I guess his meeting will end around 3 or 4pm, maybe? Who knows? The room is nice. They look like their picture, but beware, you may not get what you paid for. I wasnt a late, late arrival. Check in is 4pm. I arrived at 520pm. I was told today that the rooms booked out, last night, which was AFTER i had arrived. It so strange. The beds are very hard and there are not any additional blankets. But I love the kitchen and space and location. I am not moving in to stay, so until I switch room, I am pending further review. Its worth its value, thus far. Customer service and care needs a remake.
The room is nice and has many kitchen amenities except a microwave. Which is sometimes important when you have kids, leftovers, etc.
I give this place a 3stars because it’s not as bad as any review I’ve seen on here, I stayed in room 904 and I must say it was clean and it was pleasant for the price we paid. The view was very nice we had a nice ocean view. You can tell the hotel does need some fixing after the hurricane I heard they had some time ago but they are working on it I seen them doing construction everyday (which by the way didn’t interrupt our stay whatsoever) the counter top did have two broken pieces to it but that’s about the only thing that I found wrong with this hotel - I also took pictures so if they allow me upload them I will - I usually never ever write reviews but the amount of horrible reviews I seen after booking this place I was soooo scared I tried to cancel my stay before I got there and I’m so glad I didn’t - I will definitely book to stay again
Great stay. I had a nice updated room. Kitchen was a bit small and the elevator definitely had its issues. Right on the beach which was so convenient.Staff was fantastic, especially Gabbi. So welcoming and accommodating ! Really made my stay
My boyfriend and I were looking for a weekend getaway. We really enjoyed our stay check in was great, nice customer service very friendly. Our room was cute just what we would expect. Fully stocked with towels and other amenities. Very clean and quiet we slept well great view of the beach. I would definitely stay here again. Great job.
We have stayed at this property at least 6 times. We have always found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. We always book an ocean front room and have always found them to be clean and comfortable with a picturesque view. The pool and hot tub areas are always well maintained and the grounds well kept. There are two elevators on the premises (one next to the indoor pool and one in the tower across from the main entrance). The one by the pool has been known to be finicky at times.
We arrive at the hotel to see the parking is across the street, not on property, that’s ok but then we get in the room and the window treatments are dusty and hanging down off wall, then the floors have sand throughout and balcony furniture so cheap and flimsy, I was nervous to even sit in them. The location of hotel was great but that’s about all.
I liked it. But the balconies could be bigger and I dont think the big mirror behind the couch should cover the wall so much. Great beach experience! (Great for families)
Great place to take the family and to go with friends
Great location. Returning customer.
First off let me say by looking at the pictures for the room for our stay I was so excited to start my beach vacation until I got there. I start by saying the room looked nothing like the picture they had posted to preview the room then we were told that’s not what the rooms really look like it’s to show you the layout. I had to wear socks the whole time because the floor was so disgusting that if you didn’t your feet would be black on bottom. The ceiling above the bed was chipping so bad it was paint chips on the bed they had to send someone out in the middle of our stay to scrape the ceiling. The shower had left over hair stuck to the walls and the shower lining from who knows how many people before us. This was a horrible visit for me and this totally ruined my only trip for the year.
Writing this review for Patricia Royal who stayed the first weekend in August. Planned a weekend “ girls” trip before grandchildren returned to school, and the pictures online are nothing like what we paid for. We booked a king suite for 4. We had no extra bedding for the sofa bed so four of us were on a HARD mattress the first night. We could not call and ask for assistance because the front desk closes at 11:00 and we got back in after 11:00. For the price I paid for the weekend, I THOUGHT someone would be there to accommodate the needs of guest at all times. I know now to ask when I’m not familiar with a hotel. It just wasn’t a comfortable stay. Myrtle Beach is busy and fun for all ages but at the end of the day you need a clean and comfortable place to lay your head.
Everything was great liked coming there location is convenient to everything
This used to be our go-to Myrtle spot (for ten years), however due to the hurricane, the current administration is not handling the interim very well. There is NO ONSITE MANAGEMENT! Everything is handled through myrtlewood villas which is 13 minutes away. They shouldnt be open if they cant offer the same level of service. I understand there was a hurricane, however, if they would simply plan better, I might be able to take a shower with clean towels and cook dinner for my family with the utensils that are currently missing. This review is subject to change if they clean up their act in the next 24 hours.
Even though we had to evacuate the condo after the first night because of the hurricane, the place is very nice. Although the security guard was a bit rude.
It was very clean ! Awesome views of ocean and city.
Did not like off site registration, no housekeeping services, additional fee of $129 paid at check-in.Quick response to problems
I saw a review about a hole in the ceiling. Our room had a hole in the bathroom ceiling as well. Make sure you bring your own towels because they won’t give you anymore than what’s initially in the room.
Do not stay at this “plaza”. More like a hell-hole.Absolutely disgusting. The fold-out couch mattress had blood stains and mold all over it. The beds were covered in mildew and mold. We called the front desk and they told us they couldn’t do anything about it. Had to go to Walmart and spend $100 on an inflatable mattress and pump.Treated rudely by staff. The “front desk” was located 5 miles from the actual building. They were rude and extremely unprofessional. We asked if they had toothbrushes and she replied “oh we don’t do that here but there’s a mini mart down the street”.. The elevator was broken, so we asked when it would be fixed. The guy replied with “when I’m done” and slammed the door in our faces, leaving us to walk up the stairs to our 6th floor room with all of our heavy suitcases.Sketchy building. The building was dirty and smelled horrible. The pool was cloudy. The door on our room was rusted away and there was no locks whatsoever on the balcony door. The elevator was eventually “fixed”, so we used it. It was loud and quite scary, honestly. It went up and down several times and shook around. Our “oceanfront” room was not an ocean front at all. We couldn’t even see the water. And we couldn’t do anything about it.Do not stay at the meridian plaza. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Calling OSHA on this horrible place tomorrow morning, first thing.
We arrived on Monday, August 5th and stayed until Friday, August 9th! The location is great but we had 4 towels, 2 hand towels and just 2 wash rags. I called the check-in office which was Myrtle Woods Monday after arriving and left message regarding the room and asked someone to call me back and they never did. I called again on Tuesday about the towels and wash rags and was told a order would be put in to housekeeping! I called again on Wednesday morning and talked to Ashley around 8;23 and called again after lunch and spoke to Ashley again and she said Betty in housekeeping had told her she would take care of it and we never heard from anyone or seen anyone. Another couple in the building on our floor was having the same problem! So I justI went out and bought some rags and we used our beach towels also!.
I give 1 star because the room was very small, outdated and not very clean. Bathroom lights were missing, and outside door was damaged. Elevator has missing parts on the ceiling. View from balcony was great. Would not stay here again.
Expensive but good.
It was a good room, very close to the beach and other attractions in Myrtle Beach. The only downside was the equipment in the kitchen left a bit to be desired. The cookware and utensils were minimal and the dishwasher didn’t fully clean the dishes on the first run. Nothing huge but definitely something to consider. Besides who wants to wash dishes on vacation?!?!
Kids had alot of funHave money when you goParking a bearAlot to do
Dirty dishes and trash left by previous guests. Standing water in hotel tub. Paper thin walls, so hearing everything is not an issue. Most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. I didn’t think there were such a thing as uncomfortable sheets, but here we are. I felt as if I were wrapped in the finest generic paper towel that dollar general would have to offer. For $130 a night before “resort fees” I expected more. There are better options.update:Husband started to get sick after night two here. Discovered mold on the ceiling in the bedroom.update to my update:Definitely stayed there. Used my new last name when I booked, so that’s probably why you couldn’t find my reservation. I have the moldy ceiling photos if you don’t believe me still.I was sick for a week after the stay and had to miss work.
I will never stay at this hotel/resort again. You had to provide your own towels and wash clothes because they only give you a certain amount we had two and I had a family of five so I have to drive 10mins away to the check in areas to get more. They don’t take your trash until the day you check out. You have a full kitchen but no dish soap or anything.. they offer you to use the laundry down stairs to wash your own things and give you two small packs of detergent not enough at all. They charge extra fees during check in time which was unnecessary to me. We have hard floors didn’t even have a broom the three days we stayed had to borrow one from my sister who stayed up from us. And my door deactivated two times while we were here and I had to call for them to give me a number twice didn’t like that it was chilly out and had my four kids coming out the pool.
This place is disgusting. Currently in room 1503. The only thing nice is the view and I can get that somewhere else. Where do I start. The bed. It’s hard. Only has a sheet. We asked the front desk for blankets and was told there is none. So we cover up with a sheet at night and barely sleep. There’s dust all over the walls. There’s a vacuum cleaner in the closet that is full of debris. There’s a mop that is dirty. The bathroom is gross. The kitchen is gross. The dishes are dirty. The pull out couch is rock hard. Flipped the mattress to check for bed bugs and there’s food crumbs underneath the mattress. It’s just all out gross and honestly it’s ruined my vacation. Tomorrow night I will be home in my bed, warm with my blanket and I can’t wait. If I could’ve gotten my flight out sooner, I wouldn’t be here still. It says it’s a non smoking building but the neighbors smoke so much we can’t keep our patio door open or we will end up high with them. The pool and hot tubs are dirty. Several times our key cards had to be reprogrammed as they wouldn’t work. It’s just really gross here. I’d like to know who actually owns this unit we are in so I can tell them that they aren’t doing a very good job. I wish I had never planned this stay here. Check out is 10am tomorrow morning and our flight isn’t until 6pm but I can’t wait to be out of here. Will never return.
This is not a good hotel at all. First of all, we were told that we were going to get a oceanfront room and we ended getting a partial oceanview. When we arrieved there the office was closed due to some remodeling then I called the number that was on the front door and ended up a number for some other hotel. Then after we got checked in at another hotel maybe like 15-20 minutes away from there, we got into our room and it was really dirty and smelly. And to top it off there was no housekeeping at all, we had to take our trash to the dumpster. There were also mo towels down at the pool area. I really dont recommend this hotel. We were so excited and happy that we were going to get the oceanfront and thought it was a clean room, but it was just a disappoimtment.
Got stuck in the outside elevator that I was told I had to use for the baggage cart. The management had already called the elevator repair people the day before but never mentioned it until after I got stuck. The elevator in their garage across the street smelled of something electrical burning so I took the stairs which were filthy, littered and smelled of urine. They advertise the nicest, most updated unit but I got one that was tired and came out of the 1980s and the dishwasher did not work. When I complained, I was told that I should have contacted the hotel directly and should never go through a booking site. Well the booking site got the photos from somewhere? This is not a hotel but condos that the management company rents out. A lady I spoke to that rented a unit said it had roaches. Mine did not.The positive things about my stay were that the unit I stayed in was clean and it was close to the beach and had a nice view.I would not stay here again.
I booked a room at this hotel room for my mom and her friends. She came home and told me that the service was HORRIBLE! She stated that they never gave them new clean towels the entire stay. There was no soaps or toiletries in the bathroom. The customer service was awful. It took them about 3 to 4 hrs to get in the room fully. There was construction going on during their stay. The construction workers were working on the floor that my mom was on. They put plastic up outside of there room and she didn’t know until she opened the door. The construction workers did not even know they where on the floor. It was horrible!! She tried to call for clean towels. Then they told her that they where in a meeting and they would call back. They didn’t call until 11a the next which by that time she had checked out at 10a and on her way home.
I loved my visit, but 2 of my guest in other rooms had a bad experience. In one the AC went out and was not quickly corrected and in the others room her first room decor was out of the 70s and had mold on the ceiling, she was quickly given another room, which was a great improvement. The staff was nice and My room was beautiful.
I live here its great
Stayed in an Airbnb here. Nice condo, pool amd ocean front.
Dirty! Stay here, if you like roaches, dirty baseboards, filth and finger prints on the table, and a great view of the ocean. There will be nobody in the office for you to complain too. By the way this is only hotel Ive stayed at whos lobby closes at 11:00pm! I repeat, The lobby closes at 11. Just in case no one tells you, as no one told me. Sleep tight. The roaches and the balcony view are just amazing.
Comfortable units with a pleasant atmosphere. Great place for familys or a low cost get away. No frills, but right on grand strand and close to everything.
I wish I could give this zero stars. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The staff are horrible, the hotel elevators broke down two times in one day. The pools look disgusting. Our neighbor was playing extremely loud music on their balcony at midnight and we couldnt even call the front desk to complain, because they have no one working the front desk... We paid for an ocean front room with a balcony so we could go out at night and relax not to listen to my neighbors music at midnight. I would not recommend this hotel at all !!!!!! We ended up here because we had to change our vacation date last minute and this was the only hotel who had rooms left... Wonder why...
The condo I was in was beautiful indoor pool was warm and hot tub was hot but out door pool was not.
Meridian Plaza has a lot of potential but it needs updating. Even simple things like a shower rod because our room’s was rusted. Due to the humidity, it would be advantageous for them to invest in a dehumidifier because the rooms can be quite smelly. These are privately owned suites, so don’t expect much room service, which I understand. However, the original blanket we had was not clean and very odorous. I requested another blanket and was traded one odorous blanket for a funkier blanket (sigh). The grounds are kept quite clean. The staff was very pleasant and nice.
We really enjoyed our stay. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. There was one young lady that seemed to always be working and she was very helpful and we are very thankful for that. Check in was a breeze and check out even easier. The staff was on top of everything. If we had an issue or concern, they were on top of it. The rooms were nice. Could use some paint. Water came in our bathroom through the ceiling from the condo upstairs but maintenance came right away. Elevators were a pain in the butt. The wait took a while. Overall We had fun and so close to the beach. The indoor pool and hot tub has a lot of chemicals in them but the outdoor pool and hot tub was really nice. We will come back! Thank you Meridian for a great stay! The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because of the elevators, water coming through ceiling, and migraine from chemicals at indoor pool
Very quiet and comfy. We had a great view of the beach it is open till late. Pool closes at 11pm. We stayed there 4 days and it was fun no issues.
Great place to stay, off the boardwalk about a block so you dont have to deal with the traffic. The rooms are all a little different and ours was really cute. We had a great ocean front view. And the customer service was great, everyone was very nice and helpful.
There are probably as many likes as there are dislikes here but overall, its a clean place to end your day, bathe and/or eat. I think you should know there is NO onsight manager or team onsight. Theyre located a few miles away. The building is currently under construction too so the lobby is closed; you have to walk to the Southside of the building. The parking is convenient & directly across the street. Our room on the 10th floor was a bit outdated but fully functional for the most part aside from our bedroom. The lights, outlets & TV did not work at all (temp electrical issue?) but from the lights of our window & the hall light, it wasnt too much of a biggie. Bathroom is a bit darker than usual but nice tub & shower. Kitchen had all appliances that worked great & really enjoyed the breakfast bar. Living area is spacious with working TV & ceiling fan. Theres strips of lights that dont work in there too but again, can do without. The thermostat on the AC didnt work so we opened the balcony door most of the time so we wouldnt freeze (nice when you get off the beach though.) The balcony had a great view & the walk to the beach is very short. The floors of our room did look clean but were very greasy! Indoor & outdoor pools. Indoor hot tub. Outdoor one is also under construction. We got our room for the view, pool, walk to the beach & close by activities & it succeeded at all of those things. Think this place might just be working out some kinks during their transitional period.
I fell on unmarked wet cement. I was not advised of extra 70 charge until after I booked.
