This was our first escape room experience and Im so glad we went with Riddles. We loved how they made the room unique with a Myrtle Beach specific theme, and Hotel Manager Dan helped nudge us along when we got stuck. We hope to make Riddles a part of our annual visit traditions. So much fun!!Covid-19 prevention: you can smell that they disinfect regularly, you call to let them know youre there so the lobby doesnt fill up, and hand sanitizer is available.

Absolutely wonderful experience. It was a ton of fun for the entire family, from children to elders. The employees are very kind and well mannered. This was our first escape room together. We came all the way from NJ to enjoy Myrtle Beach. Our host was very nice and kind. The place was very clean and I had fun playing the game. It got my brain going and it kept me entertained. The mechanics were pretty interesting and neat.

We did this escape room in October 2020, it was awesome! They were so nice and even allotted us a little bit more time because we were so close to being finished! Family owned business that creates their own rooms, it was so cool, we will definitely be back!

The staff was amazing. Very helpful hits and tips for the room. I have done a few escape rooms before and the steam punk room here is my favorite! The puzzles were very tactile. All around a great place to go!

We are here on vacation. My wife and I decided to do an escape room. only our 2nd time doing one. The staff was very nice. The escape room we did was very fun and the sound effects were awesome. We would definitely recommend Riddles Escape Room.

This was more fun than I expected. Lots of clever clues, locks, and a hidden door that led to another room with even more puzzles and riddles. We laughed and relived the fun for hours afterwards. Good times and a great memory to share.

AMAZING!!! We had so much fun! We have done an escape room before, but this one is definitely the BEST by far. Dan was the one who helped us with the Steampunk and he was great. We will definitely be back when we come visit again.

We have played over 50 escape rooms and played the steam punk room while on vacation. Sadly, we were very disappointed. Aside from a few drawings and gears pasted on things, there was no steam punk element, which we had been excited about. As to the game itself, It was ok but the tech was frustrating as we had to search the room and try each locked drawer/door etc whenever something “opened” (there was a bell ring) because there were no springs or similar to pop open the item. Lastly, the game master gave us way too much unsolicited clues, including how to turn a key and often just as we found an item and before we could even examine it. I think that made it even harder to make sense of the room because we were just constantly told what to do instead of being able to enjoy playing and figurIng it out.

My family and I did the Marooned room with our 4 kids. The kids had a blast but we adults had a hard time keeping track what was going on in the room to make a progressive sense out of the clues. Mind you Ive done plenty of online games where you Escape a room using similar clues and enjoy them. I think we may have just had too many people in the room at once, which not much organization about who was doing what.Was also disappointed to find we were told that anything that can be moved with two-fingers is fair game for a clue, however at one point (SPOILER) you had to push a hidden wall with much more than two fingers of pressure to proceed in the puzzle. We also got a lot of clues without asking for a hint to help us proceed, which was great, but kind of cheapened the experience to be led through some of the puzzles without asking.

Our family of 6 ( 2 adults, 4 teens) had a great experience here tonight!! The staff was professional and enthusiastic, providing just enough hints to keep us on track. The theme/room was creative and intriguing. We all had a lot of fun, and finished with 8 minutes to spare!

Wonderful time. Attendant knew when to chime in to help us along so were not stuck, getting nowhere. Expense if youre paying for everyone, but well worth it for one time experience.

On vacation our family did the Marooned Island Escape Room! We had four adults and 3 kids in our group, and everyone was able to find a clue! It was challenging enough for the adults, and fun enough to keep the kids entertained. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the facility was clean. My kids are already asking to go back!! I highly recommend this for a fun filled family activity!

We did the Grand Strand Hotel, it was great fun for everyone. The puzzles were challenging however, not to hard. We were there with two adults and 11,12,13, and 14 year old children. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

First escape room my family has done and we were not disappointed. The staff was so friendly and helpful and really helped make this experience a safe and fun one. We would definitely like to try another room with the rest of our family before leaving Myrtle Beach.

We completed all 5 of the rooms this weekend. The Hotel room, Claustrophobia room and Cars room were great. The western room and marooned rooms had puzzles that either didnt work and had to corrected or could be bypassed. As we finished the last game this evening, my wife was unable to use the restroom because a female employee was smoking Marijuana in the womans room. When I mentioned it to the staff member, she first denied it and then admitted she knew it was happening and knew who it was.UPDATE: Based on the owners response and not checking the facts first, I am reducing this from a 3 star to a 1 star. Penny, you should check with Deputy Dan about the Simon Says wall not working and having to be reset when we did the western room and Davin about us getting through the marooned room without completing several of the puzzles last night. Additionally, you should speak to Jordan and check your cameras at approximately 1800 yesterday regarding the Marijuana. We brought over $350 into your facility this weekend, the least you can do is check the facts first before posting a generic unfounded response.

Me, my daughter and her best friend did this today while on vacation. Deputy Dan was the best. We did the Myrtle Town wagon Trail. I highly recommend making a reservation and doing this.

I was looking for something fun to do with our group for my birthday. I reached out to the number on the site and Scot, one of the owners, was very quick to respond, super easy to work with and very accommodating. Needless to say, we reserved a private room for a party of 8 and had a fantastic time. Allison was working that evening and she was excellent in explaining things and put on her best front lobby desk clerk accent and stepped right into the role as she instructed us in the lobby of the Grand Strand Hotel. I would highly recommend this place!

We had fun. We definitely relied on a little help from the staff to get unstuck so the difficulty level was high for our group of mostly kids. We were close to breaking out but failed. Fun activity for vacation goers.

My first time doing an escape room and I had a blast. I initially thought it might be geared more towards kids or easy,but it turned out to be challenging and fun. Definitely looking forward to doing it again. Its perfect to do on a date.

Riddles was really fun. They were very nice and honored our coupon for a discount. It was really fun, not scary at all, i even found some clues and they gave us enough clues so that we made it out in time. A hour really flew by, it was not an easy puzzle to solve. Pleasantly surprised when they told us it was one room and and we found more. My only suggestion is that i wish we won a prize at the end, any kind of souvenirs to say we won, well besides the photo, which was a nice touch.

I am an escape room enthusiast with over 30 rooms completed and the steampunk is definitely in my top 5 favorite rooms. I had a blast and our gamemaster Dan was excellent. He was helpful and stayed in character which is all you can ask for. Thanks, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

My boyfriend saw an ad for this and wanted to take me for my birthday. It was our first escape room, and it was a lot of fun! He knows I’m really into puzzles and games where you have to find clues and such, so the fact that this was like a real-life scenario of that was awesome. You are greeted in the front foyer and then led back through a hallway to the back room where you wait for your game. We ended up being the only people to book this room, but it can be up to 8 players. I guess 6 pm on a Sunday in October isn’t their prime time, which was kinda nice because it was a fun date night with the two of us trying to work together to solve the puzzles! I do feel like it would have been a little easier with a few more people though. We ended up escaping with 4 minutes left, and our game master gave us some hints as well. Since I had never done an escape room before, I appreciated that part. They can see you and communicate with you via camera, so if you’re stuck on something they can help you out so you don’t spend the last 10 mins trying to solve one thing. We had one minor problem, and it was just that a box didn’t unlock when it was supposed to, so our “coast guard” came in the room to unlock it, and we kept playing. Overall, it was a great time and I’d love to bring my parents to do an escape room next time!

We completed the Hotel room tonight. It was one of the better escape rooms I’ve done! The staff was great and very helpful with the booking and room. Dan the Man was an excellent hotel concierge! We will definitely be back soon to try the other rooms.

We had never done an escape room. We did the virtual reality one with my older kids 23, 21, and 20 . We had so much fun! We came back the next day and did a classic room. The staff were great, funny and explained everything really well. Like my husband said, its rare to find something that everyone enjoys. My mother in law played with us the second day. Would definitely go back!

Loved the Claustrophobia room (2 person team and 30 min). Loved the Myrtle Beach Hotel room (6+ person and 1 hr). Steampunk was fun too. Highly recommended

We booked a private room for 5 for the Grand Hotel. It was a blast! The puzzles were challenging and varied. The theme was also great. Dan the Man was our room master and he helped us just enough to get us moving when we were stuck. We are already talking about what room to do next!

My husband and I recently moved to the area from Atlanta. We have always enjoyed doing escape rooms for our date nights, but this was easily our favorite! The staff is extremely nice, and the room was put together so nicely. Diane was our esquire (guide) for the room, and she was lovely! She made the entire experience that much more enjoyable! We have already purchased tickets for another room!!

We worked pretty well trying to get all of our clues and answers together. We escaped with 11 seconds left.

Five Stars all the way!! We have done a total of 32 escape rooms all across North and South Carolina and Riddles easily ranks at the top. This was our 3rd room with Riddles and it was so awesome that we felt we just had to leave a review. The staff was super friendly and helpful and one of the owners that was there was great! We already booked another room for tomorrow!

Love this place

The staff was very nice and our deputy Dan was good with our kids. They said the western theme one was for families and it was fun for our oldest who is 6 and the youngest 4 also got to do somethings to keep busy. The puzzles were very nice and well built. I always like when the puzzles arent just combo locks and keyed locks. Look forward to our next trip to the beach and will be looking to do another.

Marooned and Grand Strand Hotel! Both an absolute blast and a perfect way to spend an afternoon of team building with work friends or with family. Penny was exceptionally accommodating and Devin (with his steampunk eye) was so awesome! If you’re looking for a fun activity in Myrtle Beach, this is so different and such fun! The puzzles are challenging and engaging, but not so much so that they’re frustrating. This was my 2nd time visiting Riddles and I can’t stop talking about how fun Riddles is for all ages.

This was the hardest yet best time EVER. The lady who helped us (she wears glasses) had my family and I laughing hysterically. What a wonderful employee. She was so nice and just a great room monitor.If you want something challenging, come here. It is loads of fun. I want to go back and do another room i had so much fun.Fyi: Some of the furniture used in the escape room was that of the grandfather of the owners mansion. Apparently, they recreated one of the breakout rooms on the top level to mimic what one of the rooms in the mansion would have looked like.I TOTALLY recommend this place. Thank you to the employee who made our family laugh.

This was so frustrating but it was so fun to do with family or friends. I would 10/10 recommend it for a birthday or just to have a fun time.

Our group of 10, ranging from age 14 to 57, did the Grand Strand Hotel escape last night and LOVED IT. It was cleverly done and kept us collaborating frantically until we escaped with 4 minutes to spare! The clues given by the room master were perfectly timed and encouraging. We all talked about it throughout the evening and enjoyed all of the group interactions that occurred. A perfect way to enjoy your family and friends!

Went here while on vacation. We love escape rooms, and this one was definitely challenging-we did the hotel one. The place looks new, employees were very friendly, and coupons are available in tourist attractions books to account for the price ($25 per person)! Gametime was 60 mins, and there were multiple rooms involved. There are many room options to choose from, and also some for different age levels. Definitely recommend it if you love escape rooms!

I loved this place and plan to visit again this summer. I went last summer and did two rooms in the same day because of how well the rooms were put together. It was my parents first escape and it was a great experience. I live for escape rooms and can be a very tough judge of rooms. I am excited to go back and do the western theme one as it was booked solid last year. Apparently it has live actors which sound amazing. They are local and not a chain which I love as local owned escapes are always best. Like I’m not a fan of break out cause they are too standard and not very special. But I love love love this place. I plan to try one or two others as well but idk if they can compare to this one. I loved the steam punk theme and the beach one.

My husband and I did the House of CARS Steampunk Mansion. We are locals and we will DEFINITELY be going back! Duncan was our puzzle guide/host and was phenomenal! The customer service was excellent and the puzzle room was laid out very well with a nice level of difficulty. This is a family owned and operated business that we were thrilled to support. If you get a chance to visit do not pass it up as it is the best puzzle room in the area :)

I went with a group of 3 other friends and to say it was a fun experience would be an understatement. It was amazing, the rooms were perfectly complex with really interesting surprises. Our room master was Dan the man and he was an amazing help whenever we got stuck but wasn’t overbearing and let us work through our failures. Great place!

So much fun! This was our first time and Allison did an awesome job leading our group. We choose The Grande Strand Hotel escape room. We have plans to come back and do another room.

Lots of fun! We had 4 people in our group which was perfect. Any more than that and I think it would feel a bit crowded in that small room. We were not allowed to take pictures so I cant post any.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of those involved in allowing my group of students to come out on 2/21/19. All of the students had a amazing time and havent stopped talking about how much fun they had. I really want to say thank you to Scot who was able to work with us, to make it possible for our students to be able to attend. He went above and beyond to accommodate for our students and even opened up early to allow us to come. For that we say thank you! This was truly a great experience for all of us involved and will be recommending it to all family and friends for a great experience!

The most entertaining and memorable escape room my wife and I have ever visited. We love going to one of these in every city we visit. The problem we run into at other escape rooms is that they all seem to have the same experiences available from a bank heist to the good-old zombie survival. In addition to that, the experiences these other places have are usually not that challenging OR they have so many glitches that they are very difficult to complete without calling for the staff to come and fix the mistake.Riddles on the other hand, designs and builds all their rooms themselves. My wife and I were able to experience 4 rooms here and each was more impressive than the last. The puzzles were challenging, the staff had character, and the stories were captivating. In addition to the hour-long rooms with secret passageways and oodles of problems to solve, they have a claustrophobic room for those with a strong mind and a VR room which was so much fun! All of the rooms were unique in design and atmosphere when compared to each other and to many other escape room franchises.We have yet to experience some of their rooms so we WILL be coming back soon! Thank you Penny and staff for the most memorable Escape Room we have ever visited.

The host was friendly and helped guide us through the difficult level game, without giving away too much, but prompting us when we were stuck and stubborn. The pirate escape room was a good challenge. Decorations were a bit minimal, but the props supported theme very well and helped sell the story.Can tell they care about what they do, and wed definitely return here.

Cant wait till the get some more rooms so that we can come and play some more!! By the way, the VR was AWESOME!!!! I never wouldve thought I would like it, but we got to try it and it was the coolest thing Ive ever done. I cant brag enough about how nice and friendly these people are. Give it a shot! Fun, we had Duncan as an operator. Ive been to a few different escape room operations, and this was the first that required puzzles within the same room to be sequentially solved, meaning the correct solution for a given puzzle does not work until another puzzle is solved.

My friends and I went and loved it! It was super fun and challenging! The staff was extremely nice! Make sure you say hello to Deputy Dan if you play the western one!

We had a group of 7 all together, 3 kids included. Riddles was so much fun! The game was difficult, yet had areas where the kids could really assist. Something for the entire family from 6-100 years of age! The rooms atmosphere as well as the business was fantastic and totally Eerie and mysterious. We will be back!

My family and I recently completed the Western themed room at Riddles and absolutely loved it! The puzzles were perfectly puzzling, and Deputy Dan was a blast to work with. Can’t wait to come back next summer to try another room!

Craziest escape room I’ve ever experienced, the VR experience was great and the supervisor Doug was with us the entire time helping some of us who were less technically inclined. Definitely coming back next time I’m in Myrtle.

The hosts were friendly and explained everything easily. They also played their roles superbly along with impromptu dialogue. This was our first experience with an escape room. We explored the Virtual Reality in space. Some aspects of it were disorienting, but thankfully my techy teenager guided us. It was definitely a lesson in teamwork and communication! We finished the mission after 39 minutes with minimal hints. They invited us to the Wagon trail with a return discount. It was more hands-on and two of the puzzles were a bit challenging. There was never a lagging moment and we were all engaged, exercising our noodles. I wouldnt want more than five in a group because it could feel crowded. My ten-year old and I got stumped but my problem-solving husband and strategic teen dominated. Theres an exciting plot and the direct involvement adds both drama and humor. I cant wait to try all the other rooms available!

Highly recommend! We booked an escape that wasnt a good fit for the whole family but without hesitation ownership stepped in and moved us to a game room that was a better fit (it was even our own fault we didnt read room/game descriptions!). Excellent customer service. Great fun for our whole group. Challenging and exciting. Will be back to try more fun escapes!
