Located right across from the Fiserv Forum where the Bucks play - very fun vibe with lots to see and do. Shrimp tacos were great with just the right amount of spice. There are games galore available to play, many TVs all over the restaurant, and a patio/balcony area. Seem to be still working out the “new” factor but overall service is good.
Depends on when you go...sadly another Deer District location that even after a year cant get staffing, inventory, and most importantly customer service right when there is any event happening. The concept is fantastic with bowling and karaoke and lots of nooks and crannies to the quirky always Food Network alcove. When available, the food is above average and diverse. If there is an event of any kind I would recommend leaving a very, very long lead time to get served...if it is a huge Bucks game night, Id suggest saving the visit for another time and eating elsewhere.
Multiple visits hoping for better each time. Food is great and atmosphere is nice. The service has never been good. Very slow to take drink order and 3 of 4 times I just went to the bar and ordered for my table. Lucky if you get a server without asking. But I will keep trying the food is worth the trouble.
I honestly will not eat here again. I had high hopes, for the atmosphere seemed interesting and new. The hostesses were rude, but the waiter was very nice(that might be the only good thing about my experience). My appetizer was okay, but my main dish was soggy and unappetizing. My whole family did not like the food nor did I. I left this restaurant feeling sick to my stomach. Again I wont be eating here anytime soon.
I highly recommend going to this place for a day full of fun. They had shuffle board, pool tables, giant connect 4, bowling, bean bag toss just to name a few things to do. The staff was extremely nice but ice cream machine was downand could get the awesome sounding shakes! This was not the last time Ill be going to this place it will be an every time occurance Im in Milwaukee
Punch Bowl Social is a must see. The two story bar is made up of: restaurant, game room, bowling alleys (5 lanes), karaoke rooms (3 different themed rooms), lawn games, and indoor game. The bar has three bars within the bar itself and wait staff waiting on you no matter where you are or what you are doing - oh and they are extremely helpful and friendly. The place is flawless and the food/ drinks are extremely well done. This place was very thought out!
We went on a slow night but the service was still great and we had a great time. We bowled a game and had some issues with the scoring (Despite bowling spares and strikes it was sometimes not counting one of the pins falling down) but we still enjoyed everything. If youre visiting I recommend checking this place out!
So this is a cool place to hang out..theres nice decor...everyone working appears friendly and outgoing you get 2 servers working your table ... its nice that its a team effort...they have bowling.. pool...arcade games ..board games ( that you get in the shoe area) its a funtime for everyone... I dont know about the food though. The drinks were pretty good. They had options for everyone...veg and non. Friend at the table got the kale melt and enjoyed it...I noticed they also have a variety of juices. Which is cool...Pictured:Green chorizo fries.... were okay ..wouldnt order againA pig a duck and some cheese walk into a bar ...noChicken and waffle was described as okay by the person that ate it.I got the mer man and liked itA friend got the conga line we both enjoyedWe also tried shakes. Mine was minty.. I liked it.. couldnt find it on the menu thoughIt would probably be a 3 rating if there were not a plethora of activities
It has a great ambiance with the game options and karaoke. The food isnt top notch and you may have to seek out a server instead of one just automatically coming to you when you arrive ( the reasons why they dont get five stars from me). The building and bathrooms were very clean. The location and view from inside is great! It is kid friendly up until 10 pm (I believe may need to call and make sure of that). It is definitely a place to check out if you are in the area.
Last night we took over an hour drive into Milwaukee to eat at Punch Bowl Social. Upon arrival into the restaurant there was no greeting nor welcome. Walked around upstairs to find no seating available. As we went downstairs to sit the waitress had informed us that 90% of the menu was unavailable. Now my main reason was to get the chicken and waffles. I then inquired how their poor management didnt know how to forecast their food orders. Then we were finally told that the cooking staff had walked out and quit. Very sad to hear from a restaurant like this. I will not be eating here ever again. Poor management and staff rating.
Great addition to MKE! So many things to do, great food and beverage options! Place to go on date night or take the family to during the day. Service is awesome. We will be back!(Came mid day on a Sunday and got a lane to bowl right away. I would guess this may be hard to do on a Friday or Saturday night).
Amazing food. Great entertainment. Highly recommend for pregame party’s. Has bowling. Giant Jenga. And great food. Try it out and rate it yourself. I bet you will rate it better than me.
Tried this a second time, service was the worst, again. Ordered drinks and food at the same time. Took forever to get drinks, ended up going to the bar and getting them. Once our food finally came out, one of our people was told they were out of the item she ordered. Waiter never came back to refill water or drinks. Added incorrect items to the bill. Terrible. Won’t be returning.
Fun, spacious, bar game spot with decent food/drinks. It’s right in the center of the deer district so the atmosphere is pretty electric especially during bucks games. Lots of bar games to play there. Darts, foosball, bowling, pool, air hockey. Good spot to go with a group of friends for an enjoyable evening.
Went to the Punch Bowl before the bucks game only because the Mecca had too long of a wait. We noticed the Punch Bowl was way less crowded around prime dinner time...we soon learned it was for good reason. We were immediately seated which was nice. My boyfriend ordered a beer. He noticed after taking a sip there was crusty lip prints along the rim of the glass... he notified the manager and they gave him a new one. That should never happen that is so unsanitary. We just ordered wings for an appetizer because we were not impressed with the menu selection. The wing sauce was actually very tasty, however, they were extremely over cooked to the point bones were sticking out and barely any meat on the bones. I will not be dining here again.
Awesome happy hour drinks in an excellent location. The staff was friendly and professional! Theres a bowling alley which was fun and other games, as well. If youre looking for a fun time visit the Punch Bowl. We ordered the humus with veggies, wings, sheet load of nachos with chicken, zucchini and all the other regular toppings, rosemary fries, and mac and cheese. Everything and I mean everything was to our satisfaction and very pleasing to my palate. Oh and the key lime pie was so delicious. If youre looking for great food and entertainment you must experience this place. So proud of the deer district!
Food is good, games and entertainment are fun... but without service, not enjoyable. Took 30 minutes between ordering to get drinks and waitress to return. VERY UNDERSTAFFED... has potential to be a great place, but needs serious management help
So many fun things to do here. I love to just check out a deck of cards or a board game and compete in a friendly competition. Also didnt know I was actually good at darts till played a round here.
Rather than continuing to respond with canned rhetoric about how youll improve NEXT TIME as a response to negative reviews, perhaps you should make grand strides to simply DO IT. My company has a function coming up at your establishment, and nothing would be more disappointing to my co-workers and I if we discovered that the bugs you are trying to work out of the system havent been addressed genuinely. Your customers and clientele deserve and demand better. Word to the Milwaukee bar and restaurant community, speaking as someone who worked and thrived in it years ago - FIX IT..because its broken.
If I could give no stars I would. I saw how you guys can lay off your employees then make them re apply all over again. I can’t go to a place that disrespects their own employees like that.
It was a fun place. Love how it looks over the Deer district and the Fiserv forum. Drinks were good but pricey. I had a Whiskey old fashioned and it was very good. My son had a Bloody Mary, he said was good.
The food was pretty good, a bit pricey. Good atmosphere and a fun place to go anytime.
Fun atmosphere, great punch! Staff is probably the friendliest it can get, very helpful! The chicken and waffles is beautiful and delicious.
My companys holiday party was hosted here and we all had such an amazing time! The food was incredible, everyone on staff was so so lovely and attentive and the place itself is gorgeous and brand new. I was so impressed. I hope we can come back for next years party!
I went twice in a span of 3 days. They were out of chicken and waffles BOTH days. The first time was a Thursday at 11:30am. The crab rangoon dip is AWESOME. The second time (which happened to be after a Bucks game); they were out of the dip as well. Plan better! Great games.
Only redeeming quality was that once we finally got the food it was pretty good. Went before a Marquette game, the place was moderately busy but in no way packed. Got a seat at the bar and ordered a drink and chicken sandwich. Food took over 45 minutes, no warning was given that there would be a substantial wait. Bartender never came back and asked if we wanted another drink. For a place that is right next to a stadium and seems to make their money off of game day events they seemed grossly unprepared for an even moderate turnout. Really disappointed in the staff and their operations. With so many other options right around the stadium I probably wont be back. Been to other places that are way busier and run things way smoother.
Great service and food was pretty good.
Nice place. Went for company Christmas partyProbably would not have gone if I was paying, it is pretty expensive but the food was good whether it is worth the money....meh I think its matter of opinion. I think your paying more for the experience of being in the Deer district with the atmosphere of downtown
I only give it 2 stars because the karaoke was a lot of fun. The service and food was not. Waited near 20 min for our waiter to come bring water, another 20 min to take our order. It took almost 45 for the food to come and they forgot one meal so we had to wait another 10 min for that. Once we received the food it was almost inedible. Chicken sandwich was burnt so bad we thought at first it was beef. The burger had no flavor at all. Neither was able to be eaten. So after all that waiting we couldn’t eat the food. Waitress was obviously oblivious to our satisfaction. She never asked if everything was OK. With 7 in our party between the ages of 21-27 the overall impression was go for the games but go somewhere else for food.
Tasty food, lackluster service. Here on a Thursday evening and needed to go to the bar to get drinks and apps. I understand there is a corporate event going on that the best staff is assigned to. Still, the complete lack of team atmosphere witnessed by the staff leads me to believe there is a management issue at this place. Food was great. Hopefully service improves if I get around to coming back.
This is a 3.5 star review - great location, huge space with varied spots to enjoy. Certainly builds up the energy before a game; very lively and gets packed. Cocktails were well done. Food is where it lacked and the fact that it took so long. Would not bother with food again, but would go for drinks. Right across from Fiserv with huge windows looking at it... perfect spot for pre-game shenanigans. Enjoy!
Such a fun place. Love all the games and options. The chicken street tacos were beyond delicious with amazing flavor!!
Poor service. We went with a larger group for a birthday party. First, each time they brought out food and drink they didn’t know who ordered what. When the bill came, they could split it a maximum of four ways. So we spent about 45 - 60 minutes trying to figure out our bill after things were added we didn’t order and totaling it for the server. Organization and communication could be improved.
Pretty cool space, but after waiting 35 minutes for a table we waited 50 minutes more for our food. This wouldnt be as big of an issue since it was a Bucks gameday and our waitress warned that food might take a while. Although you do have to think, if youre going to be a place right across from the arena, how can you not plan better for being busy? But even after all this waiting, the food came out cold! Its simply inexcusable. At least they didnt make us pay for the lukewarm-at-best meals.
Soooooo good. So much to do and look at. Many awesome foods to chose from, fairly priced too. And everyone working there is super friendly. I had the shrimp tacos the first time, next time I’m trying the rosemary fries and one of their burgers
Great place to quick grab a drink and a bite to eat. I did not eat, I only sat at the bar and had a drink while waiting for a friend to show up so we could checkout the Christmas Market, but I was very impressed with the ambience and quality of the drinks. They also have a bowling lane in the building, so thats awesome
We went when the Bucks were out of town, so there was room to move. There are two levels and games(which most you have to pay for) bowling, darts(free) karaoke (not free) and free board games. Weve been there when the Bucks are playing and you cant even move.
The host gave clear direction to let us know there’s 30min wait, upstairs opens at 2pm, we can get a drink at the bar.2pm- server took order for app., lunch order shortly after. Rangoon dip was good, not enough chips to go with it, French Dip $17!?, food was barely warm, dishes or empty glasses never cleared. Certainly not enough servers for a place like this on game day!(There’s a Friendsgiving poster still in the bathroom.)Overall- wish I’d had made a better decision based on all of the above reviews! Punch Bowl Social was a big disappointment.
Great tacos! Not sure if the bean soup was supposed to be room temp but I would have preferred it hot. Outstanding place to eat before a Bucks game!
Very cool venue with a lot of space and multiple bars. Went with a small group and there were plenty of games open to play on a Friday night.
Restaurant was out of many items that were on the menu. Waitress was slow and non attentive. Took way too long to get drinks & food. There was no soap in the bathrooms. Plus they messed up our bill. Food was not very good either. Very poor dining experience overall!
Went before the game - staff was so nice! Food was great! It was especially awesome since the place nextdoor quickly turned us away and were quite rude.
Stopped in for a bite and a beer before an Admirals game. Forgot there was a Bucks game that night as well. It was PACKED, even 3 hours before tipoff. Had the sweet & spicy wings and the green chorizo fries. Food was awesome! Too bad we were in a hurry! Looking forward to going back.
Awesome views of the city with a great layout. Theres tons to do and Im so happy with this new addition to downtown. The staff was nice and even opened the door for me as I walked in.
Second time here. Disappointed with the food and service. Cant fault the hostess, she was the only one working to seat people. There should be two hostesses at least on game night. Our waitress was serving, clearing tables and serving drinks. Too much for one person. She was overwhelmed. Ordered chicken and waffles. Came out luke warm and too much breading on the chicken. Wont be back!
Even though it was an away game we had a great time! There was something for everyone!
Hoppin busy place...tasty punch bowls and something for everyone on the menu. Tons of fun games to play and cant wait to be able to be out on the patio in the summer!
Awesome venue and the service was great. It was busy but they had plenty of staff and they were super nice.
Terrible service, food was way over priced for the quality and taste. Gave 2 stars because the atmosphere is cool. Overall its a cool place to hang out and drink, but avoid going for just a dinner date.
The food was so-so. The service, not so much. My guess is they are short staffed. Our server, Hasani, seemed less than thrilled that he actually had to wait on us. They were out of ice cream. So that left all shakes, both “boozy” and non, off the table. They were also out of: cauliflower nachos, cauliflower grits, And romaine lettuce. The brisket hash had about 8-10 very tiny pieces of “meat”. (They were predominantly fat). In addition, the dish was quite cold. Everyone was served their food except one. Her meal came about 10 minutes Later. The whole lunch experience was over 4 hours. Overall, I’m not sure we would return. Maybe for the games, but definitely not for the food. Not sure how they will take care of the Bucks crowd that would be arriving shortly after we left.
Wonderful service Thanks KoKo! She was customer service at its Best!
Nice atmosphere. Thay have bowling and other games with extra cost. It takes some effort to get servers attention. The menu is a bit confusing. Prices are a bit high, food goes around $15 and drinks around $7.
This place has no right to be located in the busy and thriving Deer District as their staff is just the opposite. We went to the Punch Bowl on a Tuesday Marquette game night, waited 12 minutes to be greeted at our table of 4, not a crowd at all, and no urgency with our wait staff. We had to let her know, once dinner was done, that we needed our tab asap as there was a game we needed to get to and she apologized stating she had no idea there was a game. I was not sure to be more upset with, the waitress who waits tables for money and should be aware of every single game night or the staff, managers, that were standing around looking at their cell phones without a care in the world, who should be the leaders letting their staff aware of game times. Food was good but one can get overpriced food at any better served restaurant in the district. I highly recommend not supporting this uncaring chain, too many local pubs that have actual staff who give a damn. This place will not be around in another year unless management is upgraded.
Great place to have fun, meet people, excellent service and great food
The staff was amazing. On Easter Sunday we stopped in and the staff was so attentive and took my children around on an Easter egg hunt. They were awesome!
This place is awful. If I could give it no stars I would. We ordered a appetizer of chips and guac, our main meal was tacos, and a salad and I ordered a drink. The food came all at once, after waiting over 45 minutes for it. And my drink came at the same time as our food. For the amount of money I spent on the drink I was not impressed at all and could not tase any hint of alcohol in it. Our food was good but extremely small portion for what you pay for. We had awful service and the sad part of this whole experience was that it was this terrible and it was not even busy at the restaurant. We will not be coming back.
I really wanted to like this place but its just been so mediocre everytime Ive been. Went for dinner tonight and the waitress started listing items they were out of it, which ended up being almost 3/4 of the menu. Our drinks took well over 20 minutes and it was by no means a crowded night. The downstairs bar tender was very slow and kind of rude. Our waitress was rude and short as well. The food was subpar for the price. I ordered tacos, which were appetizer size with a small, bland bowl of beans for $12.50 and it was NOT worth it. This place could be fun if the staff was more pulled together and inviting and if the food wasnt bar food disguised as upscale eating. After two times of poor service and disappointment, I wont be returning.
Lanes on lower level were AWFUL. The pins are connected to strings, we only had 9 pins instead of ten. It couldnt calculate how many pins you actually knocked down, and the way it works is it pulls up all the pins every time you bowl and then drops back down the ones you missed, except sometimes it would just drop down random pins, or more pins than you had left.Service was bad, it was a slow Saturday and they were understaffed, we had to wait long times for everything. Ive been for brunch before and food is mediocre. Wouldnt recommend unless youre waiting for a Bucks game or something
Cool spot with a nice vibe and an awesome location. Theres something here for everyone, so this is a great starting point if youre having a hard time finding a place to go because of differences in opinion!
The craft cocktails are enough to make a trip here! However, the food was so good, the service was friendly and on time, and the atmosphere was very fun. I cant wait to go back!
It’s a great place to watch sports and the food is decent. I ordered the standard breakfast which included scrambled eggs, after the second bite I started crunching on egg shells. I had the waitress send it back. No one asked if I wanted to order anything else and the manager refused to remove it from my bill. I was told “that’s how it is in the restaurant business”.
Never again will I be attending this horrific place. The staff was miserable. We had to wait nearly 30 minutes to get glasses of WATER. Awful. The food was soggy and extremely unappetizing. I hope you can learn from my mistakes of dining here and never attend Punch Bowl Social.
Our group was thoroughly disappointed with the service. Our waiter disappeared for over 45 minutes. The place wasnt even busy, we were one of just a couple tables so there was really no excuse for the lack of service.
The wait was a little long but granted it was during a bucks game. Fantastic burger, particularly the pickles were fresh. Definitely recommend for a bucks pregame area!!!
Went for bowling and had a great time. 10$ per a hour per a person. If you have two people you can probably get three games in.
Fun atmosphere with great views!
Waited 15 minutes to get a server (three servers came up and asked if we were being served yet), finally came up to us and started explaining the menu and majority of the items being not served because they ran out...drink service took another 20 minutes...finally by time it was time for food to come out they said the kitchen was closed. No signs of management. Not a good look for a restaurant near the Fiserv to have no food, poor service, and no presence of management on a game where the Bucks were playing.
We had a group of 18 and had so much fun upstairs playing Jenga and enjoying the view of Fiserv Forum. The punch is delicious!
Salad was tasty, drinks were unusual yet flavors were perfectly blended. We sat outside on the patio on a sunny Thursday afternoon in downtown Milwaukee. The new Deer District is beautiful and is a great place for fun, food and entertainment. Service should have been a little quicker since it was really not busy. Hostess could use some better people skills and energy. Felt like we were putting her out when we asked to see the menu before being sested. They should post a menu outside for people to check out so that they need not bother the staff if it is not what they are looking for.
On a busy Friday night we were told there was an hour wait....then minutes later we get seated? Love the chicken and waffles but watch out for that spicy syrup? Vanilla rice krispie squares were awesome! LOVE the new pinball machines.
Punch Bowl Social was a very fun time and a great place to spend the evening with a couple of friends or a large party gathering. The nachos were delicious and meat free if youre into that kind of thing. Bowling was fun and the operator allowed us to finish our game which was very generous of them. The burgers that my friends got were of very high quality in terms of the meat though a bit lack luster in terms of individuality; the wow factor. Nachos and fries were good though. The mixed drinks were very tasty and I had a few beers that I had yet to try. The environment receives an A+ for me. The size of the place is vast enough to accommodate the large crowd present with enough attractions for everyone. All in all, a very good time and would highly recommend.
First time there..really cool place. Great burger and really good chocolate shake. Curious to try the bowling there sometime.
Horribly understaffed especially since there was a local event in the courtyard next door with hungry people drifting over in search of warmth and food. Our server was overwhelmed and forgot to order several drinks, food items, etc.... an hour and half later and several inquiries our lunch finally arrived. Basic offerings, basic taste. If the owners really care they would do an overhaul and invest in better staffing.
I heard this place is expensive, it was 3 dollars more than other places. Thats not expensive to me. I liked my food. Service was pretty prompt on a busy night.
Decent bar and restaurant with reasonable food and prices. Has a number of interesting activities (bowling, giant Jenga, etc.) around the building to enjoy as well.
My Husband and I had brunch there yesterday. It wasnt busy, there were several open tables. We seated ourselves on the second floor balcony per the hostess. The waitress was pleasant, but service was really slow. I asked 3 times to have the table wiped off before she returned to do it, explaining she couldnt find a cloth. People next to us were told no menus were available, so we gave them ours. When food arrived, it was good but eggs were over cooked and really salty. One staff member couldnt tell me if there was a bathroom on that floor. Wait staff delivering food were overheard complaining about a customer. Management needs to do some serious training with there staff.
Fun, fun place. Attended a work holiday party and we had the entire upper level, there is something there for every age. Staff was awesome and food was even better.
Looked like a cool place. Just started to get busy before a bucks game. Ignored for 15 minutes after asking for service twice, so we left. I will give it another shot, but service was not great
They have taken the sports bar/restaurant to the next level. The food is top notch and the drinks are great. The staff is professional and efficient. I cant believe they actually have bowling alleys in the facility. We played on the 8 man foosball table. I had a fabulous time.
Such a great atmosphere and really good food! Definitely recommend their boozy milkshakes!
Horrible service!!! Our waiter never brought waters. He took our appetizer and drink order and a different server brought them out. Our actual waiter didnt check on us for another hour... we were so frustrated that we paid and left because we never had the opportunity to order entrees. The nachos were incredibly small and not filling. I would not go back for food
Staff was very attentive to a party 20+.Activities are at a 10 and be glad no axes are involved. Drinks are perfect.
Horrible service. Ehh food. Should not have to wait 10 mintues for a server to greet us at our table, took 15 minutes for drinks, asked 3 times for creamer for coffee, have our server come back 15 minutes later to confirm our order because they werent sure (mind you, they had it written down), and then another 45 minutes for our food. We arrived right when they opened at 9am on a Sunday, they werent full at the time, and not once did a server come to check on how our food was. Wont be coming back here ever.
Drinks are way to expensive. For some reason we had a VERY limited menu and the food was just awful! They need to expand the menu to have some regular food. Trying too hard to be hip. Neat place to see but you may want to eat beforehand. $$$
Giving it a 3 because the atmosphere is pretty cool but everything else was pretty bad. Specialty drinks were super weak and super sweet - coming from someone who bartended for 11 years I would probably just get a bottle or can of something if I went back. You wont be catching a buzz unless youre ordering three times what you normally would. Not enough staff for the size of the place. Poor service when you finally do get a person to assist you. Bowling for 4 for an hour will run you $48, which might be worth it if their ball return worked or they knew how to reset the pins that got tangled. At that price they should have staff to wait on you at the lanes as well instead of going over to one of the bars. Overall it was underwhelming but we made the best of it with some great friends, doubt Ill be back anytime soon. Hopefully they fix these things because it is a cool business concept.
The food was really good. Rosemary fries leave a terrible after taste though. Cool place with a little bowling alley
Ive never been to a restaurant that asks us if we ordered the food they brought over and then two minutes later the waitress comes over and rudley states thats not your food.. well maybe its because they only have 5 options.. way to make us feel guilty and not welcomed. Poor service and unprofessional workers except one bartender that has to run everything. Its disappointing to spend as much as we did for such a bad experience.
Hostess couldn’t have been more rude. Never will go back.
Hosted event with beer & wine open bar and taco bar. Great service & food. Guacamole was a bit too salty. Lots of fun bowling.
Great atmosphere, for the most part. Took me about 20 minutes to get a drink from the bar and there were maybe 5 people sitting there. I also asked if the kitchen was still open and the bartender mentioned he would have to check but didnt think so... I finally got his attention so I didnt want to lose it and said no worries...45 minutes later I returned to see him carrying out fresh food to the group of people that kept him distracted. Missed opportunity to come find me for a food order and another thing to be tipped on. Bowling lanes 5 + 6 just kept messing up the entire time we used it. And I was surprised no partial refund or complimentary service was offered even tho we requested maintenance 3 or 4 times. We couldnt even use our entire allotted time cause see were always waiting for it to get fixed. For the 5 nights our group was in town we are glad we started night 1 here.
There is a 2 lane bowling alley inside the Punch Bowl. The food was good. They have a variety of beers.
Food is actually very good. Funny place for family or adults. Lots of games to play. Bowling, shuffle board, and video games. Games are overpriced though. But it 100 feet from Fiserv Forum.
Plenty of games and you can tell the atmosphere will be great during the Bucks title run this year!!
