Nice walking trails. This mixed-used family and pet friendly park is great for walking, hiking and biking. We walked the loop trail that follows along a buried pipeline, then loops over to follow the river. The river area offered several scenic views from wooden viewing platforms. We visited on a weekday morning when the park wasnt very busy. However, weve seen the parking lot on weekends, and that was enough to keep us away.Nice trail links to an extended hiking trail system in other parts of the National Recreation Area.

The trail is big and spacious with the view of the chatachoochee river on the side and hence social distancing is easier. There are a lot of people visiting this trail since it is pretty popular

Great biking trail - highly recommend. Great pace and just enough roughness to make it interesting without having to dismount or worry about going to the hospital.

Great kayaking. Most of the Chattahoochee River is can enough to paddle against the current. There are a few class 1 rapids as well. The dam is 3 miles upstream with a small class 1 rapids just before it. 3 miles down stream is another class 1 rapids. This is a great spot to put in and take your pick, up or down stream. Also plenty of wildlife to add to your kayaking pleasure.

Great place to walk, run or bike. Trails are wide, scenic & mostly run along the Chattahoochee river. There are additional trails on boardwalks that run through the wetlands. Mature trees create enough shade to cool the trail.

I love to ride here. It’s the closet trail I know of to downtown Atlanta. There’s designated mtb trails as well as hiking trails. I can get a good 8 mile ride in a single loop or do a shorter 5 mile loop for a quick ride.

This is an excellent place to walk or ride bikes. The paths are very spacious and there is good wildlife. You can see and hear the river and there are several overlooks. Unfortunately the restrooms have been closed during the Trump Shutdown. It is a nice place to come with friends or family and particularly nice for walking a dog. There are lots of friendly dog-walkers.

Lots of people visit this trail now and that’s a good thing. Even weekdays lead to full parking lots. This trail is best for mountain biking with sturdy tires because of loose gravel. Not particularly wooded but it does connect to a better trail west and that has deers roaming around. There is a small swampy bog in the middle of the trail that does get flooded after a rainy bout.

Great nature trail area that connects with miles of other trails and is pretty well maintained. Very relaxing, somewhat dog friendly (at least by Georgian standards) and usually isnt very crowded. Only downside is paid parking, but there are places nearby you can park if you wish to dodge the fee. They require cash, so Im not able to park in their lot as I dont use cash and they dont accept modern payment methods.

This is one of the nicest parks near 285 and Sandy Springs. It is an easy walk 3 miles around pretty flat. The walk along the river is very peaceful. Its a beautiful River the Chattahoochee in my opinion. There are lots of trails around the hills for bikes and hikes that are probably moderate to strenuous.I saw a four or six point deer the other day great camouflage. Lots of mushrooms in the sounds of birds. Its very family friendly as well.

Cochran Shoals may be the busiest of all the parks in the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area. It may not be the prettiest of them all but its centrally located and unlike the other parks is almost completely flat for its entire course. So its a good choice if youre for a good, easy walk.Pro-tip: if you regularly visit the parks, the annual pass is well worth the money.

This is a really great place for a nature hike. My wife and I go here pretty often for a nice lap around the trails . Its a great place to bring a picnic and sit by the river and just enjoy nature and the sounds of the water. its a pretty popular place so youll definitely run into some neat people. And if have a dog and are looking for a great place to take them out for a walk I would definitely suggest these trails. Parking can be a problem sometimes when its very busy, butits well worth the trip. Once youve gone youll want to come back to this place over and over.

Ji
Review №96

People dont look out of others. Some people have headphone in and cant hear you say excuse me. On the trails in the woods people run and walk both ways. There needs to be some sort of sign that make Walkers and runners go the opposite way as bikers so that they can see the bikers coming even if they have headphones on. Not to mention people still do not get out of your way, even when you try and get out of the way they take up the whole Trail. Dogs are off their leash getting in the way of you. They need to enforce the leash law at this place
