I rarely leave reviews but I have to give props to Keys Cable. I ride cables all the time but never a two point tower so didn’t really understand logistically how it worked but apparently the cable is completely yours with your own operator for the time you have signed up for. I go to a 5 point park most of the time and can stay out there for 4 hours no problem because your on and off the cables and waiting in line half the time. Here if you fall they roll the cable right back to you and pull you back up from the water ( like behind a boat ). The turn around took a little getting used to but the guys there provided pointers on this to help me get around the corners. Jumps and boxes I’m use to but apparently this is an old rock mine/pit so it’s like 60ft deep and they have the boxes tied up side to side across to the embankment under water rather than anchored down making them extremely stable. Their was some beginners there right before me taking lessons and watching the way the lessons were handled compared to what I’m used to seeing to fantastic. The instructor was out in the water helping the 4 year old get up and provide pointers rather than standing at the dock providing verbal explanations. By the end of 30 minutes the 4yo was able to get up out of the water and ride the length of the cable, first time she had ever attempted to wakeboard. I visit the keys a couple times a year and will definitely plan to visit this park again. Definitely check them out whether you’re first timer or highly experienced. FYI one hour was all I had in me as it was non stop. I ran 10 on then took a 5 min break to rest my arms as the ride time per hour is much greater than a normal 5 point or 6 point!
Can’t say enough good things about this place! We brought two teenage girls, 1 beginner and 1 experienced. They got the beginner up wake boarding in no time and the advanced jumping right away. The staff is excellent! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to learn or already can wakeboard.
People are really nice here from what we saw. I was surprised though that it was rated so high Being that the facility is small with not many things to do. There are only 2 cables and at the moment it is by appointment only. While I can see this place being a blast for beginners, it’s not a true cable park so I have to give it 2 stars. Good luck!
Cant wait till the farm to table restaurant and artist village are open. My hubby had a good time wake boarding. Best cherries ever, too! Check it out!
Visited with a family of 4. It was our first time wake boarding and by the end of the hour we were all going over the jump including my 12 year old daughter. It was a great time all around, and perfect for a windy day when you can’t get out to the reef. Matt and Will were very helpful and entertaining.
Awesome place to go if youre learning a water board sport for the first time, or if you need to be re taught correctly, I cant recommend this place highly enough. Mike was one of the greatest instructors - thorough and patient. Loved every minute, including my face plants! Thank you!!
Awesome time. This place is fantastic. It was my first visit a few months ago, and I had a lesson. It was my first time on a board in the water (never wake boarded or kite surfed before), and they really helped me get moving and feel comfortable on the board. I definitely plan on returning next time Im in Marathon. Their setup is just such a great idea both for beginners and, as I can imagine, for more advanced riders as well.
Good place to go if you want to try Wakeboarding. I had a great time and would recommend it to everyone. Nice spot and good place to just chill. Check it out!
The staff is extremely nice and they help you even if you have never done it before. I really liked Mike, he was extremely friendly and supportive. The gear is decent and good quality.
The water tastes like car exhaust, probably because there is no circulation in the water and most of the rain water on US-1 washes into the water. I got a bad rash after being in the water. Never going again. Stay far away from this place.
Never been so pleased by a service. The staff was upbeat and very helpful. Reasonably priced. Very cool venue.
My husband and i have never wake boarded before. The staff were friendly, helpful, patient, and expert coaches; they event lent my husband a jacket so he could stay warm between rides. The equipment was in good working order and fit well. There were chairs to watch and a hammock to relax in. It was fun! The employees bring their dogs and the dogs are adorable, friendly, and well behaved. I would recommend to anyone.
This place is awesome! They have 2 different areas. One for those starting out and second for advanced with jumps and rails. The guys taught my son in a in hour to get up and do turns. Highly recommended!
The staff and adventures are fun go for a far out board ride to a calm walk through the garden awesome people make u feel like family cant wait to go back....
Was very cool and guy was nice
Best place on earth. Family friendly with an incredibly attentive and kind staff. I would highly recommend all aspects of this park. You havent enjoyed the keys if you didnt stopped at Keys Cable.
Very cool place. Great people.
Professional, thorough and concise instruction. Very personable and professional staff. If you want to enjoy the water more, stop by and get wet with this crew.
The staff is absolutely the best Specially Gabriela .. I was amazed with all the attention super place to visit
The guys there were so patient and down to earth! Great place!
Awesome park that cares about the environment. The bar was built with wood that came down from hurricane Irma. Vendors inlcuded cold pressed juices, swimsuits, local artists (davel). The wake boarding cable line looked like a lot of fun. Kids were having a blast and there was live music. Great visit.
Best time i had no experience wakeboarding and by the end of the first day i was taking turns and going on the jump ramp. by the third day i was on the advanced course doing all three ramps. i only took two one hour sessions and a 30 minute session in total. Guys are very helpful and teach properly.
Been buying stuff from mike my whole life. Him and his family/ staff are the absolute friendliest people on earth. If you dont go to them for everything your probably dumb.
Excellent staff! Great way to learn to wake board.
Great place..... Fun, beers, nice people.... Wonderful time with my fiance
The guys running the place are true professionals that take the scary out of wake Boarding and can take you to the next level with the least amount of time and money. Easier than a boat to get up and the cable course can help you in learning snow boarding and kite skiing
Great fun
Called in advance. Was told not to make a reservation due to no one being there. Drove an hour to get there and was told they were busy all day. Terrible communication.
Matt runs the place. Nicest person in the world. As is all the staff. Hope it opens soon.
My son LOVED this place! He was up on the wake board in a short time thanks to the great instructors.
Great staff, super patient and a fantastic crystal clear sea lake setting with all year round sunshine
Had a really good time here. Tried it out with my sister while on a family vacation to the keys. She had tried to wakeboard behind the boat before but was never able to get up. The cable was much easier. First try and she was up and riding! The guys working there coach you along too.
Fantastic instructors, will get you up on the wakeboard in no time!!!
These guys are the best and the park is wicked for both advanced riders as for beginners! Keys Cable will expand their business so keep out for any new adventurous rides.
Good place good people !.when Irma hit they helped me with sheets, diapers excedra .
A diamond in the rough!! I had a great time at keys cable. My wife and I live in Islamorada and drive down every month and have a great time wakeboarding. The guys working there give you pointer on how to improve while you ride. Great for beginners or pros. They have two courses, one with jumps and rails and one wide open if your just learning. My wife was a beginner and she was able to pick it up quickly with some help from Matt. Reasonable prices... A must see on vacation.
Pros: super nice staffNot to busy,Great if you have never wake boarded and want to learn.Great if u have wake boarded but want to get betterCons: there pricing structure is retarded. What I mean by that is its like 75 per hour with board. Here is the thing they Do not give u 1 hour you have to split that hour with who ever else is there. Which I was not told until after going for like 25 mins and then saying I was done. I would rather pay for the time I went. Also bathroom is a out house. All and all glad I did it just need to redo there pricing.
The people are lovely and do their best to teach you how to wakeboard. Its a wonderful and fun experience with wonderful service!
Had a great time! Nice Staff! Great park!
Kids love it. Staffnis very helpful and patient with my twin ten year olds.
I had no expierience wakeboarding. They were patient and tought me fast so I could enjoy more time waking.
All I hoped it would be and more. One on one instruction during my lesson with The Otherside Boardsports knowledgable staff. Hard to believe a place like this exists in the Keys!!! Multiple activities onsite for the entire family.
