The K-State Insect Zoo is a wonderful addition to add to your places to visit. Wide variety of live insects as well as displays to observe. Check out the live bee hive and the leaf cutter ant display. Looking forward to visiting again.
Nice place to visit. The insects are well maintained. The staff are nice. It takes about an hours to see it all. There are plenty of things to keep all ages interested.
The K-STATE insect zoo is one of a kind in the Midwest. It houses several different live insect exhibits and plenty of preserved insects as well. It even has a replica of a prehistoric dragonfly wing found locally! The zoo staff are attentive, nice and knowledgeable.
So much fun to be had. A lot of really cool bugs and so much information available. And the people who work here know so much. Definitely will be back plenty of times.
They have fascinating insects and a lot of information to know insects in details while watching them
Wonderful display of different types of insects. Wonderful for kids and very educational. Wonderful staff and cheap entry fee.
I think it was cool. My baby girl wanted to grab all of them, my oldest son wanted to run away like a sissy and I was impressed to see some species I havent seen before. If you dont mind free roaming roaches then youll love this place.
What a neat little niche zoo! Staff was pleasant, the grounds are gorgeous, and the zoo itself is really interesting. I especially enjoyed the mock kitchen, in which you open drawers, cabinets, etc to find insects that are common in our homes! Such a cool idea. I could be wrong, but I think they had a G. pulchripes marked as a G. pulchra, though to be fair, theres quite a bit of confusion currently swirling around pulchras.
If you like insects, this is a must see! Otherwise stay in the nice gardens around the greenhouses.
Lots of really cool critters. Pet the roach!!!
My daughter loves coming here to visit. It is fairly small, but they do a nice job of putting a lot in a small area. It is well maintained and there are great learning materials to help kiddos learn about insects! It is also within the Kstate gardens which is really nice!
Such a neat place! The hostess was lovely and patient with kids and answered all our questions!
If you only have a little time in Manhattan and are looking for something fun to do - GO HERE!!I visited with my husband and our moms for a low-key Friday afternoon activity. The staff member was incredibly knowledgable and obviously loved her job! Its a small zoo but there are tons of insects of all kinds there. They charge $3 to cover food and care for the critters and its well worth it.Our favorite was the bee hive with glass panes so you can watch EVERYTHING! Super cool!
If you like science or insects, this place is fun. It makes a great additional visit when you are already in town for the Sunset Zoo. The staff is knowledgeable and polite. There are lots of interesting exhibits and things for kids to interact with. And around the building is KStates beautiful gardens.
This place is great for all people who enjoy creepy crawlies. It is even better for those who want to learn that bugs are not so scary. Very educational collection and skilled teachers. This is also where I met my tarantula! She has been with me for many years now and she started off so small! A must see Zoo!
If you are a collector of tarantulas they have a good selection. They are very knowledgeable about them as well. Plus they have an entire zoo of insects how cool is that.
Great exhibits. They do a great job fitting a lot into a small space.
Fun and educational... good place to spend an hour or two.
What a fun little zoo! The employees were informative and helpful as well. Great for all ages, unless of course youre afraid of bugs or spiders, lol!
Great little museum. Very informative and great for kids!
Great for any age group of children. Variety of displays available to view for each group of insects. Staff was very friendly and answered tons of questions the kids had. Beautiful garden paths and fountains surround the building as well.
We have done a tour inside a d my kids loved it. We recently had family pictures done outside, at the gardens and everything was beautiful!
So amazing and gross all in one!
Great staff answering all your questions. Good assortment of unusual bugs.
I might be a bit biased as an entomologist, but I love going to the insect zoo. The live specimens are by far my favorites and I can spend hours sitting there watching the amazing bunch of insects that they have.
Very interesting exhibit, worth the price of admission. Plus, you can adopt your own baby tarantula.
Small but oh so cute and $3 is a steal for it plus the gardens...beautiful.
Lots of live displays. Some very large insects. My 4 year old loved it.
Cool place. Every time i visit Manhattan this is a must visit. My kids love it. We bought our first Tarantula here. Wish we had a place likevthis in Detroit metro.
Its small but good to visit if you are into insects and creepy things
A great place to bring the family! If you are curious about insects and want to see exotic and native species, this is the place to go. Awesome displays of leaf-litter decomposers, creek aquarium, and desert swellers. Lots of books and games to play.
It was awsome, staff are very friendly
